About WellHealth Medical Associates

Wellhealth Medical Associates offer medication assisted treatment (MAT) for opioid use disorders and alcoholism as part of their integrated healthcare services. Their primary care includes wound care management, infectious disease screening, and treatments. They handle dual diagnosis and common psychiatric conditions like depression as well. Wellhealth Medical Associates serves patients of all ages in Rochester Hills and Belleville, Michigan.

Rochester Hills is a suburban city in Oakland County. Wellhealth Medical Associates’ clinic is located along Walton Boulevard three miles south of Paint Creek Trail. The facility offers easy access to Hall Road with a direct route west to Pontiac and east to Macomb County. SMART Bus Route 494 stops near Walton Blvd. This bus also connects to downtown and Auburn Hills.

Medication Supported Recovery for Opioid Use & Alcoholism

MAT pairs counseling with FDA-approved meds to deliver “whole person” recovery. Suboxone is prescribed to curb physiological cravings and alleviate painful withdrawal symptoms. The facility also offers counseling to address underlying psychological, emotional and social issues influencing your opioid use issues. Counseling also equips you with practical coping skills that foster relapse prevention.

You’ll also undergo a comprehensive assessment during intake or consultation. The care team will review your history with drugs, medical history, and daily habits. They’ll build a personalized care plan based on this info to guide your recovery. Your care team will adjust your plan based on changing needs throughout your recovery. It’s all about promoting positive lifestyle change that encourages sobriety and helps prevent relapse.

The facility also provides referral services to inpatient clinics for individuals with moderate to severe opioid use disorder or alcoholism.

Infectious Disease Screening & Wound Care

You’re at a high risk of Hepatitis infection if you inject IV drugs due to the sharing of needles and other paraphernalia. WellHealth Medical Associates offers Hepatitis screenings for early detection, diagnosis, and treatment. This minimizes community spread, reduces risks of liver failure and helps you avoid being hospitalized.

The facility also offers clinically effective wound care management to address common wounds resulting from IV drug use. This may range from abscesses, cellulitis, and skin ulcers to thrombophlebitis, track marks, and gangrene. The facility also offers routine wellness checkups, blood draws and tests, specialized women’s health, and Department of Transportation physical exams.

I used to really like calling my doctors office I really still enjoy going to them after 12 years.. I changed my review from 5 star to 3.. because for the last 3 years now it's been so unbelievably hard to get a prior authorization done by the office..and I end up paying for my prescriptions for a few months until I get tired of them not answering the phone. And I end up having my health insurance call them..I'm on early retirement disability, ( I PAID INTO MY RETIREMENT 80gs a year for 25y ) it really really hurts to pay full price.. as of now I'm 8 months 800 Dollar's down because I'm still waiting for a prior authorization that will save me money.. AND THEY HAVE CALLER ID NOW SINCE MOVING INTO THE NEW OFFICE..SO IF YOU CALLED ABOUT SOMETHING THEY DON'T WANT TO HEAR ABOUT.. AND CALL BACK REALLY NEEDING TO TALK TO THEM ABOUT A DIFFERENT MATTER.. YOU CAN FORGET ABOUT GETTING ANYTHING BUT THE ANSWERING MACHINE.. everyone is friendly and I absolutely enjoy Dr Murphy and Olivia because they care about you.. but I'm looking for a new primary care Dr because of the amount of money I've spent over the years paying for

Accepted Insurance

WellHealth Medical Associates works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
aftercare iconAftercare Support
Completing a drug or alcohol rehab program shouldn't spell the end of substance abuse treatment. Aftercare involves making a sustainable plan for recovery, including ongoing support. This can include sober living arrangements like halfway houses, career counseling, and setting a patient up with community programs like Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) or Narcotics Anonymous (NA).

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Drug rehab in Michigan provides personalized treatment to help individuals break this cycle and regain control of their lives. Treatment methods are used in various levels of care, including inpatient rehab, partial hospitalization programs, intensive outpatient programs, and standard outpatient treatment.

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Dr. Murthy is the best Dr I have had. He's professional and also very personable. He's caring and funny and is a multi specialization doing both family medicine and behavior and addiction therapy. I have been seeing him as my primary for years now. Unfortunately, the office portion of the practice often struggles with organization and not answering phone calls. I have attempted several phone calls across multiple days, and often, nobody picks up. Voice mails are not returned, and sometimes the inbox is full. Overall, I would recommend wellhealth if you want a deeper clinical experience. Just know Dr. murthy usually runs behind because of the more complex cases that come into his office.
