First, I want to acknowledge how difficult it can be to admit that you might need psychiatric intervention. If you're reading this review, you might be considering intervention for yourself or a loved one. You might be crying, hurting, screaming into the void; it's terrifying to look at where one might go to be cared for at a time that feels overwhelming, isolating, and dark. You're giving up autonomy to strangers who claim they will help you in a time of need -- this is a major decision. No one wants to check into the ER for a troubled mind. No one wants to reduce their humanity in a highly controlled environment just to keep themselves safe. No one wants to lose access to their phone, their family and friends, the things that make them feel connected to the world at large.
And really, no one wants to eat hospital food three times a day.
But if you're reading this review it's because there may be no other option but to do these things as you white-knuckle your way through a personal hell on Earth. I myself hit a breaking point recently and did not know where to go; I had been white-knuckling my own inner hell on Earth for weeks and finally imploded, then exploded. After two previous outpatient stays at other facilities across Michigan, multiple psychiatrists and psychologists and therapists, I committed to checking myself into Trinity just to try. Just to see. Just to find the light, if there could be some. And I did find some: The staff here is incredibly kind, helpful, and they never appear inconvenienced. I was given access to multiple different medical specialists and doctors who could discuss the nuanced angles of my struggles. The social workers listened with care. The nurses were good-humored and patient. The recreational therapists were joyful, always smiling. And the food, it turns out, was not all that bad (just make sure you get double portions of everything).
I read books and looked out the window, and spoke with others who understood how I was feeling. I was able to rest. I was able to cry. I was able to feel my inner world fully and without judgement. I was anxious to leave when I regained my strength, as anyone would feel, and I felt I needed to leave a review as there were only a few by the time I Googled this facility; as I'm sure you're aware, mental health service providers suffer reviews that can be hard to trust or are designed to scare you based on a unique experience. All I can say is that I put my trust in Trinity and I left with my dignity intact. That is more than what can be said about a lot of places.
I leave this review in the hopes that if you or a loved one needs intensive care, please call and give this place a try. The light is here if you need it.

I just took my 18 year old son there for mental health and it’s safe to say I really think he is going to get there proper help that he needs for sure everyone there is very respectful and the treat you like a human being no matter the circumstances I love it already and he hasn’t even been there 24 hours

Had a great experience with the entire staff! My 8yr old son needed help urgently, I live nearby and was aware of them, but usually went to my pediatrician with my son's issues, I wish I could remember all there names. From the gentleman at the intake, the nurse, the Dr. And the social worker. All were very kind, all seemed very caring and sensitive to my son's needs, they did more in 3 hours than 2 years of therapy, high price psychiatrists, and multiple visits to an ER did ever. Dr. VIJAYAKUMA, Thank you for the call to my pediatrician! And the consultation with her! I can't tell you how much that meant to me.. if the caring and compassion they showed my son is any indication of how they operate, don't hesitate to take your child to them. Thank you all again.

Theresa, I think she’s the office manager, is the best. She does so much to try and coordinate everything for patients. From billing discrepancies to scheduling multiple therapists she takes care of it all. I would have gave up therapy if it wasn’t for her determination in making it work for my kids and myself. Make sure to find the right therapist for you. Cheryl is highly recommended by me for ANYONE; lovely lady. She has helped me with moving past my family and personal problems. Stacy was not a great experience for me. She treated me too childlike although I'm 17 and kept forgetting my details and had to check her notes for basic info on me. She also used a "get to know you" ball with questions for three sessions in a row while giving me no real help. She is probably more suited to older clients.

I was seen by Alan Griffith for 17 years off and on. I had several issues and went for depression and anxiety. He helped me so much especially when dealing with coworkers that took advantage of my people pleasing self. He was also a great help to myself and husband when it came to dealing with our young kids… up through the teenage years. When I met him, I didn’t even have a tool box let alone tools for figuring out problems. I had absolutely no self-esteem and he really helped me by giving me the acronym ICCIMOBI= I can choose in my own best interest. That if I was having a hard to saying no that I could say I would think about it then, figure a way out of it. He also taught me to always have plan A, B & C.= A I ask my friend to meet up with me to go see a movie, B if they can’t go, I could ask someone else or go alone, and plan C choose something to do just for myself to make me happy like arts or reading. This is something I still use till this day 17 years later, and I teach it to others. I consider myself totally blessed to have had such a great therapist. The psychiatrists were wonderful as well. The office staff back then was Sheryl or Lee at the front desk, they were ALWAYS so kind and helpful, my messages always got thru promptly. I highly recommend Alan Griffith .

I have been a client here for three years. The receptionist and front office staff have always been respectful and helpful. I have witnessed others giving them a hard time and being difficult. Respect is a two-way street.
Nicole Bryant is absolutely fabulous - I could not ask for a better therapist! Dr. Glitz and I discuss treatment options and we discuss her recommendations. She does run behind at times but I know that is because some clients need a bit more time than others and she is very thorough. I never feel rushed when I'm meeting with her.
Note: Mental health providers in Michigan are understaffed and stretched thin. Delays and wait times are common with almost every provider nowadays. Extending a little post-pandemic grace goes a long way.

Dr TAGHAVI is a great doctor who cares and takes his time to listen to what you have to say too him and will explore every AVANUE with you if you don't agree with him on what he says is wrong with you he is not afraid of a second opinion at all but he is really good at fixing or diagnosing you issue at him and his staff are so polite and friendly its amazing he is one great doctor and his staff is awesome

This place is amazing!!! The entire staff of therapists are very knowledgeable and each bring something different to your recovery journey. As others have stated in the reviews, they truly changed my life and how I view my recovery. I cannot endorse and suggest this outpatient more. I’ve attended other IOP’s, but this facility is simple the best! I didn’t attend their inpatient, but I heard from my peers that it is also top notch. I’m back to work now, but I sometimes miss this place. Nothing but love and gratitude for Skywood!!!

Addicts do recover when they choose to!!!! Ty QBH for the tools to stay clean by making me go to group and therapy 🙌. Which made me start going to NA meetings. I believe in early recovery you gotta do 90/90. 90 meetings in 90 days to start change 😉😎. Remember to give yourself a break and get into NA to start working the steps of NA. The books how and why were my best tools. You must have a sponsor to work the steps. You can't do the steps alone because how do you know if you're doing them right 👍 and you'll have a friend forever.

I have been to other detox before, never was I taken to AA meetings, never were there people allowed to come and sit to talk about recovery.
Spera blossomed my recovery program. A lot of the staff is in recovery from substance abuse, which makes it a lot better when you’re detoxing to listen to a word they say. They have been through it before.
I entered spera in a state of hopelessness and uncertainty, after 2 weeks I was able to be grounded, feel more connected, and start to put the broken pieces together.

Granted Spera is a holistic rehab. One can get medication prior to admission and I suggest doing so if you have a serious addiction or health issue. They will give you that medication, and I suggest so. Other then that, Ann Arbor has an amazing environment for sobriety, the community, and much more. Especially employment. Nothing bad can be said about staff or how they go about treatment.

Dawn Farm Spera is (for me) the only place that worked for me. Ann Arbor has a wonderful sober community, a bus system that is on the money every 30 minutes, a forgiving place to the point that businesses actually put a 'recovery friendly' stick on the window for employment! One in my situation could not have asked for more. I have been at death's door, and Spera staff opened their arms to me. Granted some of the staff may have their off days..but not really. They are human. Before you think I am Spera staff and this is a jaded review. CHECK YOURSELF. I am tempted to drop my name. I am only making this comment because I know 'this life' and that they are truly the only people who can help me at this point. I am stating this for one reason. To those that suffer from a medical issue, and those that love the men/women with a issue. THATS IT. If you fail? As in going back out? COME BACK! This is a life and death situation. There is no SHAME in HEALING. I am going back. Amen.

Not only did advanced rapid detox safe my life with there detox under sedation process, the staff is amazing. They refill the detox medications without question, the staff continues to stay involved 6 months later and check up on there patients at least monthly. I wasn't a typical addict I guess. I wasn't even using pills to get high. I took them just to feel normal and not go into WD. The people at ARD totally understood and didn't judge me. They didn't pressure me and told me that I really had to be ready because this was a medical procedure. The first day of testing and doctor visits was easy. On day 2 I was under sedation fully monitored and safe. Day 3 was rougher, but the dr. told me in advance that it would be. I like the shot because I aint got no desire to use at all and it has been 6 months and I have never thought about using again. Best 9 grand I ever spent.

Has great structured care! I moved from Portland Metro Treatment center and felt much more at ease having a clinic near my home! Made work easier. Dr. didn't give too high or low of doses. Felt a lot more stable on the MME than other treatment options.

I’ve been to a couple different clinics, CMS is by far the cleanest, fastest, and overall one of the best clinics. Tiffany is always a pleasure to deal with. She’s knowledgeable, respectful and goes above and beyond to make sure everything runs smooth. The same can be said for Tanya and the nurses. Tanya has gone out her way to help me on multiple occasions and is always there to give an encouraging word. The Doctor is friendly and thorough, so are the counselors. If you are looking for MAT treatment I would recommend checking this place out. One negative aspect is the billing process if you are paying out of pocket keep your receipts and stay on top of your payments.

My loved one said it’s the best place they have been. I noticed some reviews that say their loved one was harassed. I’m guessing they are new at this. Most addicts will say anything When they are craving, or actively using. I say this to not only the person that wrote the review, but to everybody reading this that Loves an addict.; I suggest this person Joins Al Anon, Nar Anon, or any support Group that works for you. One thing you learn Is an addict that is actively using, or craving, is lying when their lips move. It looks like a couple months since that review was written, Wondering how their loved one is doing today, I pray they are doing well. I’ve been with my loved one For 20 years. It has taking me all of that time to learn to Love With Detachment. It Has also taken me that amount of time to learn that I have a disease by proxy of loving an addict. Al Anon Has been very helpful to keep my mental health in What could be an otherwise chaotic & dysfunctional life. I just want to take some time to shed some light on this beautiful painstaking have! Meridian holds the most special place in my heart. They have literally become like a family to me. I was a hard case. I was stubborn and guarded. I'm a hands on learner and it's taken me at least 10 years in and out to receive the gift meridian and sobriety offers! People like jayson murray the p.r.c. there taught me "move a muscle change a thought" or "you just have to draw the line". These things sound simple but when you're actually in a jam and you can hear that voice overcoming this disease the somethings working! Something or someone bigger and far more GREATER than me is moving in my life! Having someone like Jackie willing to put in work day to day to help bridge the gaps for us in a daily basis is LIFE CHANGING! I couldn't ask for a better person to ask for help! The M.T.'s that show up everyday with a smile and love everyday in spite of their own lives is the heart of this program! They all choose to work here and show us unconditional love. Meridian loved me until I could love myself. I can say that I truly do love myself today! Now that I've actually experienced recovery I will stop at nothing less ONE DAY AT A TIME THOUGH! The medical staff is also the heartbeat 💓! I was there at the M.A.T.T.S. Program. They was respectful, helpful, and very patient with rude people.
The people there with children should really keep an on their children, not let them run around.
They help you if you want to help yourself and your family.
They have good meals. The salvation army helps out a lot. They have a social service there that helps you out.
You call and then go up there before 8:30 to see if there is a open bed.

This place was a pivotal part of my recovery journey. I was here twice, once in September 2019 and once in March 2023 (which was my last time in rehab). I’ve been to several different rehabs all over the state and I’ll say this:
Brighton isn’t the nicest facility, they don’t have the best food, but Brighton has THE BEST therapy, therapist, and THERE is where you get some of the most one-on-one time with your therapist. They give you real thoughtful work to do on your own and hold you accountable to change and doing the work if you say you really want it. Their IOP is Amazing and the sessions lead by Mo changed my life. Dudes awesome 👏
Anyway, never a fun experience but 100% would recommend.

I Was a patient here 5 years ago I started drinking at the age of 14 and got into other stuff at 19. I didn't know how to live life without a buffer Brighton gave me the tools to begin the recovery process I am still clean and sober after a horrible detox from barbiturates and Suboxone, I am thankful and grateful everyday that I made the decision to call and ask Brighton for help. Even after being shipped out to the hospital after 2 weeks they let me back in and gave me the tools and advice to start my recovery process.
