The difference between Trinity and a place like, say, Henry Ford, is like night and day. At Trinity they treat you like a human being who is struggling, whereas, at Henry Ford they treat you from the very beginning of your admission like a criminal. Trinity Hospital in-patient psychiatric unit treats you with respect and dignity. Are there a few staff that aren't quite as good as others? Of course, but, overall Trinity tries to give it's patients an experience that will improve their mental health instead of further destroying someone's mental health like they do at places like Henry Ford. If I ever suffer any kind of emotional health crisis again I will be going to Trinity. My only gripes are they need more cards of different types for patients to play (Regular cards, Uno, Skip-Bo, etc.), bigger tables outside of the dining area so puzzles can be put together, more books of different kinds in their library, and I feel as if they try to shove you out the door too fast. At no point were they even close to capacity when I was there so I think they should slow it down for when there is not a lot of people. I also think there should be a separate ward for the more angry, aggressive patients. The people who run the groups are good, too, and deserve praise. I just hope whomever is in charge makes sure to keep an eye on the attitudes of the staff so there is no decline in how patients are treated. It takes an entire team to make sure patients are treated fairly and humanely but it only takes a few bad staff to ruin that.

First, I want to acknowledge how difficult it can be to admit that you might need psychiatric intervention. If you're reading this review, you might be considering intervention for yourself or a loved one. You might be crying, hurting, screaming into the void; it's terrifying to look at where one might go to be cared for at a time that feels overwhelming, isolating, and dark. You're giving up autonomy to strangers who claim they will help you in a time of need -- this is a major decision. No one wants to check into the ER for a troubled mind. No one wants to reduce their humanity in a highly controlled environment just to keep themselves safe. No one wants to lose access to their phone, their family and friends, the things that make them feel connected to the world at large. And really, no one wants to eat hospital food three times a day. But if you're reading this review it's because there may be no other option but to do these things as you white-knuckle your way through a personal hell on Earth. I myself hit a breaking point recently and did not know where to go; I had been white-knuckling my own inner hell on Earth for weeks and finally imploded, then exploded. After two previous outpatient stays at other facilities across Michigan, multiple psychiatrists and psychologists and therapists, I committed to checking myself into Trinity just to try. Just to see. Just to find the light, if there could be some. And I did find some: The staff here is incredibly kind, helpful, and they never appear inconvenienced. I was given access to multiple different medical specialists and doctors who could discuss the nuanced angles of my struggles. The social workers listened with care. The nurses were good-humored and patient. The recreational therapists were joyful, always smiling. And the food, it turns out, was not all that bad (just make sure you get double portions of everything). I read books and looked out the window, and spoke with others who understood how I was feeling. I was able to rest. I was able to cry. I was able to feel my inner world fully and without judgement. I was anxious to leave when I regained my strength, as anyone would feel, and I felt I needed to leave a review as there were only a few by the time I Googled this facility; as I'm sure you're aware, mental health service providers suffer reviews that can be hard to trust or are designed to scare you based on a unique experience. All I can say is that I put my trust in Trinity and I left with my dignity intact. That is more than what can be said about a lot of places. I leave this review in the hopes that if you or a loved one needs intensive care, please call and give this place a try. The light is here if you need it.

I had a wonderful experience at the ER. From the moment I arrived, the reception and check-in process was smooth, welcoming, and handled with kindness. Everyone I encountered treated me with respect and made me feel comfortable. The nurses were absolutely wonderful—kind, attentive, caring, and professional. The doctor was also incredibly kind and took the time to make me feel heard and cared for. The entire staff was respectful and attentive throughout my visit. Overall, the service was excellent from beginning to end. I truly appreciate the care, kindness, and professionalism that everyone showed me. Thank you to the entire ER team for making what could have been a stressful experience so much more comfortable. I’m very grateful for the wonderful care I received.

Theresa, I think she’s the office manager, is the best. She does so much to try and coordinate everything for patients. From billing discrepancies to scheduling multiple therapists she takes care of it all. I would have gave up therapy if it wasn’t for her determination in making it work for my kids and myself. Make sure to find the right therapist for you. Cheryl is highly recommended by me for ANYONE; lovely lady. She has helped me with moving past my family and personal problems. Stacy was not a great experience for me. She treated me too childlike although I'm 17 and kept forgetting my details and had to check her notes for basic info on me. She also used a "get to know you" ball with questions for three sessions in a row while giving me no real help. She is probably more suited to older clients.

In and out so fast. Also the fact the Nurse Practitioner was so understanding, and a woman of color, so I felt very safe with her. She even was so appaled that my pcp at 16 gave me benzodiazapines, and truly she and the staff made me feel better and even told me I could bring my daughter with me. Had a great experience with the entire staff! My 8yr old son needed help urgently, I live nearby and was aware of them, but usually went to my pediatrician with my son's issues, I wish I could remember all there names. From the gentleman at the intake, the nurse, the Dr. And the social worker. All were very kind, all seemed very caring and sensitive to my son's needs, they did more in 3 hours than 2 years of therapy, high price psychiatrists, and multiple visits to an ER did ever. Dr. VIJAYAKUMA, Thank you for the call to my pediatrician! And the consultation with her! I can't tell you how much that meant to me.. if the caring and compassion they showed my son is any indication of how they operate, don't hesitate to take your child to them. Thank you all again.

I was seen by Alan Griffith for 17 years off and on. I had several issues and went for depression and anxiety. He helped me so much especially when dealing with coworkers that took advantage of my people pleasing self. He was also a great help to myself and husband when it came to dealing with our young kids… up through the teenage years. When I met him, I didn’t even have a tool box let alone tools for figuring out problems. I had absolutely no self-esteem and he really helped me by giving me the acronym ICCIMOBI= I can choose in my own best interest. That if I was having a hard to saying no that I could say I would think about it then, figure a way out of it. He also taught me to always have plan A, B & C.= A I ask my friend to meet up with me to go see a movie, B if they can’t go, I could ask someone else or go alone, and plan C choose something to do just for myself to make me happy like arts or reading. This is something I still use till this day 17 years later, and I teach it to others. I consider myself totally blessed to have had such a great therapist. The psychiatrists were wonderful as well. The office staff back then was Sheryl or Lee at the front desk, they were ALWAYS so kind and helpful, my messages always got thru promptly. I highly recommend Alan Griffith .

I have been a client here for three years. The receptionist and front office staff have always been respectful and helpful. I have witnessed others giving them a hard time and being difficult. Respect is a two-way street. Nicole Bryant is absolutely fabulous - I could not ask for a better therapist! Dr. Glitz and I discuss treatment options and we discuss her recommendations. She does run behind at times but I know that is because some clients need a bit more time than others and she is very thorough. I never feel rushed when I'm meeting with her. Note: Mental health providers in Michigan are understaffed and stretched thin. Delays and wait times are common with almost every provider nowadays. Extending a little post-pandemic grace goes a long way.

I was referred to Saja, and I'll be the first to admit that I didn't believe in therapy. I always thought talking to a friend would provide the same kind of support. After working with Saja, I completely understand why becoming a therapist requires so much education and training. She challenged me to dig deep, ask myself difficult questions, and better understand who I am. Every session has given me valuable insight, and I've genuinely enjoyed the experience. I'm incredibly grateful I made the decision to work with her, and I couldn't recommend her more.

10 out of 10 highly recommend for the busy person that wants to make addiction a priority but restriction is time or Transportation not anymore not with this program everything is done from the comfort of wherever you choose still private can get one-on-one or group feedback the qualifications and steps are easy and if you have insurance it's a walk in the park before I head insurance I would have given it for three stars just because it was very expensive $75 a week plus the cost of prescription otherwise their time out of 10 amazing and they will try and find a way to work with you when it comes to payments if you're in that position I did not ask enough questions when I was in that place so don't let that deter you#wedorecover

This clinic has been amazing and after my recent hospitalization I have even more respect for this clinic. You’re always going to get your complainers but I can’t even begin to explain how this clinic has gone above and beyond for me in every way possible. If there is a clinic someone should go to, it’s definitely CMS. Even the hospital staff was amazed with how fast CMS took care of business. They especially loved Tiffany. Amazing group of women. I'd like to make a special shout out to the ladies Tiffani, Tanya, Lisa, Dominique and Dr Nick for their absolutely outstanding service, bed side manner and overall experience. I came in as a complicated emergency detox patient with severe underlying auto immune disease and AFIB. Am well known among the medical practitioner groups as a unique medical anomaly from the various health conditions i suffer from ontop of a severe chronic opioid dependacy. Safe to say I'm very seasoned with medical lingo, treatment plans/strategies, the struggles of new patients and many other patient woes. So, I, as the patient came overwhelmingly prepared with meticulously documented list of my systems, substances I suffer from and anything else to help the team. Tiffani was my first point of contact. What a total sweetheart and professional. Absolutely love how she gets down to business on your care without time being wasted. Being in the severe medical state I was in, my intake was very quick, smooth and within minutes was on a tele health call with Dr Nick-this is where things really took off for me. First and foremost, Dr Nick might just be one of my all time favorite practitioners out of the 40yrs+ experience with medical staff due to his impeccable listening, understanding, level of care, and the overall efforts to genuinely offer patients relief of their nightmares. Truly owe my life to this God send as he literally saved me while in the middle of a severe reaction shortly after my first ever dose. Mind you, my case is very complicated, aggressive and being unique. I've found that being forthcoming transparency in the purest way is what will save your life. It's the only method I take due to the constant hurdles and obstacles I face during treatment plans. Wholeheartedly believe, can firmly say that had I of been at any other clinic outside of CMS, my life would have been lost. Dr Nick's heroism was among a top highlight in life for me and will be something to remember for as long as I life. My genuine thanks to a fantastic person who really not only loves helping patients but enjoys medicine. This is a rare and epic experience! In closing, the staff, service facilities and overall care here are nothing short of extraordinary. This shop and the angels who show up daily truly have a gift of not only helping people but are miracle workers for those at the end of their rope. Nothing but my sincerest gratitude, appreciation and thanks to CMS for handling my uniquely difficult case. Pro tip: when in doubt, don't assume you'll be OK as it may be your last ever breath you'll take! Just checking in on you guys. Thank You for all your help and the tools to stay clean. I left about four years ago and was at 120 . After about 45 days of going thru withdrawals I finally gave in to Suboxone. My next step is the shot. Hi Bill and glad to see you're still here. TY for always being cool and I'll never forget you. I think I was 518 and can only imagine what number you're on today!! Addicts do recover when they choose to!!!! Ty QBH for the tools to stay clean by making me go to group and therapy 🙌. Which made me start going to NA meetings. I believe in early recovery you gotta do 90/90. 90 meetings in 90 days to start change 😉😎. Remember to give yourself a break and get into NA to start working the steps of NA. The books how and why were my best tools. You must have a sponsor to work the steps. You can't do the steps alone because how do you know if you're doing them right 👍 and you'll have a friend forever.

Was a patient there for two weeks this past month for alcohol use disorder. It was a wonderful experience that taught me coping skills, I learned why I drink, and why I can't stop when I start, and the staff there is amazing. Its a great program. I appreciate all the loving staff at Brighton. This is the place you want to be, if you want to recover. It's clean, classes are phenomenal, nurses, doctors, therapists, milieu techs, med techs, environmental services, everyone is great. Aftercare here is also wonderful. Update: they are wonderful until you need them again. I called yesterday, they were suppose to call back. I haven't been there for 3yrs. I needed help. Today no response. Tried calling back, no response. I had been seeing a therapist after she quit there. She only had terrible things to say about the place that they weren't up to updated treatments. I just want to get better and I would hope they could help. I guess I'm wrong.

I absolutely love this place and now that I'm gone I even miss them. The majority of the employees there care about the residents. It's clean, they make sure your withdrawals are not too bad. When u 1st arrived you will be in detox 3 days or so then go over to the residents side for 29 days. The rooms have 2 to 3 people in it with its own shower/bath. Breakfast is 7, lunch 11, dinner 4 and a snack at 8. If you're too sick to go to the dining area they will bring it to your room. Mondays and Tuesday are your long days you're in meetings from 9am to 10pm. Group meetings are mandatory every day 9-11. Church is on Sunday and Bible Study on Wednesday. They will help u get on your feet so u can survive when u get out. Oh and the men monitors are cute too, i know one resident who has started messing around with one recently. But the majority of them are not like that. It's a spiritually grounded place where God is first. Oh and you get to keep your phone and smoke whenever you want to. Let's see what else , Oh the food is good now it wasn't when I 1st got there but we complained about it at our weekly meeting and it has improved, a lot! As far as I'm concerned it's one of the best around, but I've only been to one other Christian guidance center, i caught COVID there. I was only there for 2 weeks but they never took my vitals when I was there. And Harbor Light checks them every 4 hours when you're in detox. And once you have completed everything you will get a certificate and a coin. Oh and u have to drop weekly, Oh and they also have a medical mobile unit that comes every Thursday iu need blood work or whatever done. Teally cool joint that I highly recommend

Back in 2011 this place changed my life. Actually learned a lot of important stuff. Detox and stayed there for 3 months. If I'm not mistaken it's a free program. If I'm wrong then it was definitely a low amount. Especially when comparing other places.

This place is great, getting sober is not easy or fun and the only issue I have personally witnessed is that yes; all of thier staff cannot be in recovery or understand us addicts but they truly have made a huge effort to adapt to this new age in which you can get into a rehab basically for free, get decent if not really good food(DFD) and have the chance to.btreak old bad habits etc. Im 39 and when I first tried to get sober at 18 or so it was incredibly difficult to find a rehab that didn't cost 40K. Jail or the streets were your option so remember that these people are getting paid very little yet choose to work here because most of them do care but there are thinhs called HIPPA laws etc and so that takes a toll on certain aspects of how they have to structure thier program. This place and ann arbor will keep you sober and help you recover for better or worse.

I cannot put into words how wonderful this place is. The staff are top notch and extremely knowledgeable in the addiction and recovery arena. They provide outside meetings so you can gain support. Extremely grateful for this recovery center.
