I see two providers (psychiatrist, therapist) Ramesh is a wonderful psychiatrist! I met her back in 2018, but only left because I got a therapist in a different office, where their policy was that I had to have their psychiatrist if I went to their therapist. I did not like the psychiatrist after Ramesh, I wanted to go back to her. I then moved states, where I had to change psychiatrists 3 times and went extended periods of time without one due to frustration. None of them worked for me. When I moved back to Michigan I was happy to come back to Ramesh, and was even happier that she remembered me after 5 years! The therapist I started seeing in the office is Moray, him and I clicked immediately and it makes going to therapy both fun and actually fruitful. He has a 50:50 listening/feedback style and he’s very realistic, not sugar coating anything, not taking or giving bs. Sometimes the things he says does hit pretty hard, but I personally need that, and it’s always been for the best. Because of this I can make the changes I need to with more clarity and sometimes even prevent problems I was going to create by trying to fix other problems. The office staff at the desk are very polite, I’ve never had any issues with them or getting ahold of them on the phone. I have however had issues with whoever deals with the medications. I was having a really big issue a while back with my sleep medication, so I called the office and explained, they directed me to the man that was dealing with the medications, I explained my issue.. he didn’t listen. In fact, when I tried to re-explain my problem as it was apparent he misheard me, he snapped at me, angrily telling me not to interrupt him and asked if I wanted my sleep meds or not. We ended up giving back and forth attitude over the phone for a bit, which is probably why my problem wasn’t fixed that day. The office itself is always very clean, and so is the building it’s located in. The office itself doesn’t have a bathroom for guests, but the building has bathrooms near the elevators. Unrelated but I don’t know who is doing this, but every time I go into the women’s bathroom on the first floor it smells like the aftermath of 77 White Castle sliders, Taco Bell burritos, and grande Starbucks lattes. Whoever is doing that, for the love of all that is holy please bring febreze in your purse. It would save lives. Specifically mine. So after careful consideration, the verdict is 4/5 stars, only taking one away because of the rude and unhelpful guy in medications. <3 Sarah Faith 1 year ago Update: Psychiatrist has been great, and I have had zero issues since my initial review with front desk staff. I have recommended Apex to friends and would continue to do so, my experience has not had any of the negatives shared in other reviews. The front desk staffing has improved, everyone has been 100% courteous and professional. Truly no complaints. I will update my review as my treatment continues, but it has so far been mostly positive. There must have been a change in front office since some of these reviews, as I never encountered any rudeness from the front desk staff. I will say that they are understaffed at the front desk leading to some extended wait times and potential for mistakes. Psychologist I have seen is fantastic, and they scheduled me to see a psychiatrist in less than a month, which sounds long but for the industry is actually quite soon. From my initial late night phone call with RN Jeanne who reassured me that I was correct in refusing to get stuck on suboxone for 7oh dependence to meeting with Laura and then all the great nursing/patient care staff (especially Pat, with RT) as well as Dr. Aharonov, this place is the real deal. I don’t think I would have been able to get off 7oh any other way. The morning after the procedure was no walk in the park (fatigue, diarrhea, nausea, insomnia); but not having to suffer thru the intense body aches and pains as well as other opiate withdrawal symptoms for 4-7 days at home was well worth the price of admission. If you can handle a bad hangover for a day plus a couple more days of diarrhea, you can handle this. They also give you meds to help ease whatever symptoms you have after. I can’t tell you how many times I had tried quitting at home unsuccessfully (even with comfort meds like gabapentin and clonidine); I knew I had to go somewhere where I could just “rip off the bandaid” and be done with the nightmare I was stuck in and flying to Michigan was one of the best decisions I’ve made in a long time. I’m going on nearly a month now since I was there and you couldn’t pay me enough to ever touch 7oh again. I’m forever grateful for this place and the amazing staff that works there. The majority of the employees there care about the residents. It's clean, they make sure your withdrawals are not too bad. When u 1st arrived you will be in detox 3 days or so then go over to the residents side for 29 days. The rooms have 2 to 3 people in it with its own shower/bath. Breakfast is 7, lunch 11, dinner 4 and a snack at 8. If you're too sick to go to the dining area they will bring it to your room. Mondays and Tuesday are your long days you're in meetings from 9am to 10pm. Group meetings are mandatory every day 9-11. Church is on Sunday and Bible Study on Wednesday. They will help u get on your feet so u can survive when u get out. Oh and the men monitors are cute too, i know one resident who has started messing around with one recently. But the majority of them are not like that. It's a spiritually grounded place where God is first. Oh and you get to keep your phone and smoke whenever you want to. Let's see what else , Oh the food is good now it wasn't when I 1st got there but we complained about it at our weekly meeting and it has improved, a lot! As far as I'm concerned it's one of the best around, but I've only been to one other Christian guidance center, i caught COVID there. I was only there for 2 weeks but they never took my vitals when I was there. And Harbor Light checks them every 4 hours when you're in detox. And once you have completed everything you will get a certificate and a coin. Oh and u have to drop weekly, Oh and they also have a medical mobile unit that comes every Thursday iu need blood work or whatever done. I've been to other treatment centers but Nardin Park outclasses them all by leaps and bounds. The staff has a friendly but no nonsense attitude which I appreciate. They are professional and caring at the same time. For someone like me that is here for treatment and not a "Social Club", NPRC is the place to be!!! Well, it's 2023 and time for a life change. Thanks to NPRC I have been "clean" for over 2 years. I feel that I am ready to take the next step in my life. Time to detox out of the program. I am so ready to move on. I love the staff at AWBS because they genuinely care about the wellbeing of not only the consumers they serve, but the consumers' family members as well. The transportation service is excellent. I no longer have to worry about struggling to get my brother to the program on time, get to my job on time, and having to leave my job to pick him up. AWBS transportation now picks up my brother from home, and drop him back off home right at the door. We love it! My brother now has a new social outlet, and a great weight is lifted off of me.
