I see two providers (psychiatrist, therapist) Ramesh is a wonderful psychiatrist! I met her back in 2018, but only left because I got a therapist in a different office, where their policy was that I had to have their psychiatrist if I went to their therapist. I did not like the psychiatrist after Ramesh, I wanted to go back to her. I then moved states, where I had to change psychiatrists 3 times and went extended periods of time without one due to frustration. None of them worked for me. When I moved back to Michigan I was happy to come back to Ramesh, and was even happier that she remembered me after 5 years! The therapist I started seeing in the office is Moray, him and I clicked immediately and it makes going to therapy both fun and actually fruitful. He has a 50:50 listening/feedback style and he’s very realistic, not sugar coating anything, not taking or giving bs. Sometimes the things he says does hit pretty hard, but I personally need that, and it’s always been for the best. Because of this I can make the changes I need to with more clarity and sometimes even prevent problems I was going to create by trying to fix other problems. The office staff at the desk are very polite, I’ve never had any issues with them or getting ahold of them on the phone. I have however had issues with whoever deals with the medications. I was having a really big issue a while back with my sleep medication, so I called the office and explained, they directed me to the man that was dealing with the medications, I explained my issue.. he didn’t listen. In fact, when I tried to re-explain my problem as it was apparent he misheard me, he snapped at me, angrily telling me not to interrupt him and asked if I wanted my sleep meds or not. We ended up giving back and forth attitude over the phone for a bit, which is probably why my problem wasn’t fixed that day. The office itself is always very clean, and so is the building it’s located in. The office itself doesn’t have a bathroom for guests, but the building has bathrooms near the elevators. Unrelated but I don’t know who is doing this, but every time I go into the women’s bathroom on the first floor it smells like the aftermath of 77 White Castle sliders, Taco Bell burritos, and grande Starbucks lattes. Whoever is doing that, for the love of all that is holy please bring febreze in your purse. It would save lives. Specifically mine. So after careful consideration, the verdict is 4/5 stars, only taking one away because of the rude and unhelpful guy in medications. <3 Sarah Faith 1 year ago Update: Psychiatrist has been great, and I have had zero issues since my initial review with front desk staff. I have recommended Apex to friends and would continue to do so, my experience has not had any of the negatives shared in other reviews. The front desk staffing has improved, everyone has been 100% courteous and professional. Truly no complaints. I will update my review as my treatment continues, but it has so far been mostly positive. There must have been a change in front office since some of these reviews, as I never encountered any rudeness from the front desk staff. I will say that they are understaffed at the front desk leading to some extended wait times and potential for mistakes. Psychologist I have seen is fantastic, and they scheduled me to see a psychiatrist in less than a month, which sounds long but for the industry is actually quite soon. I came in as a complicated emergency detox patient with severe underlying auto immune disease and AFIB. Am well known among the medical practitioner groups as a unique medical anomaly from the various health conditions i suffer from ontop of a severe chronic opioid dependacy. Safe to say I'm very seasoned with medical lingo, treatment plans/strategies, the struggles of new patients and many other patient woes. So, I, as the patient came overwhelmingly prepared with meticulously documented list of my systems, substances I suffer from and anything else to help the team. Tiffani was my first point of contact. What a total sweetheart and professional. Absolutely love how she gets down to business on your care without time being wasted. Being in the severe medical state I was in, my intake was very quick, smooth and within minutes was on a tele health call with Dr Nick-this is where things really took off for me. First and foremost, Dr Nick might just be one of my all time favorite practitioners out of the 40yrs+ experience with medical staff due to his impeccable listening, understanding, level of care, and the overall efforts to genuinely offer patients relief of their nightmares. Truly owe my life to this God send as he literally saved me while in the middle of a severe reaction shortly after my first ever dose. Mind you, my case is very complicated, aggressive and being unique. I've found that being forthcoming transparency in the purest way is what will save your life. It's the only method I take due to the constant hurdles and obstacles I face during treatment plans. Wholeheartedly believe, can firmly say that had I of been at any other clinic outside of CMS, my life would have been lost. Dr Nick's heroism was among a top highlight in life for me and will be something to remember for as long as I life. My genuine thanks to a fantastic person who really not only loves helping patients but enjoys medicine. This is a rare and epic experience! In closing, the staff, service facilities and overall care here are nothing short of extraordinary. This shop and the angels who show up daily truly have a gift of not only helping people but are miracle workers for those at the end of their rope. The majority of the employees there care about the residents. It's clean, they make sure your withdrawals are not too bad. When u 1st arrived you will be in detox 3 days or so then go over to the residents side for 29 days. The rooms have 2 to 3 people in it with its own shower/bath. Breakfast is 7, lunch 11, dinner 4 and a snack at 8. If you're too sick to go to the dining area they will bring it to your room. Mondays and Tuesday are your long days you're in meetings from 9am to 10pm. Group meetings are mandatory every day 9-11. Church is on Sunday and Bible Study on Wednesday. They will help u get on your feet so u can survive when u get out. Oh and the men monitors are cute too, i know one resident who has started messing around with one recently. But the majority of them are not like that. It's a spiritually grounded place where God is first. Oh and you get to keep your phone and smoke whenever you want to. Let's see what else , Oh the food is good now it wasn't when I 1st got there but we complained about it at our weekly meeting and it has improved, a lot! As far as I'm concerned it's one of the best around, but I've only been to one other Christian guidance center, i caught COVID there. I was only there for 2 weeks but they never took my vitals when I was there. And Harbor Light checks them every 4 hours when you're in detox. And once you have completed everything you will get a certificate and a coin. Oh and u have to drop weekly, Oh and they also have a medical mobile unit that comes every Thursday iu need blood work or whatever done. The majority of the employees there care about the residents. It's clean, they make sure your withdrawals are not too bad. When u 1st arrived you will be in detox 3 days or so then go over to the residents side for 29 days. The rooms have 2 to 3 people in it with its own shower/bath. Breakfast is 7, lunch 11, dinner 4 and a snack at 8. If you're too sick to go to the dining area they will bring it to your room. Mondays and Tuesday are your long days you're in meetings from 9am to 10pm. Group meetings are mandatory every day 9-11. Church is on Sunday and Bible Study on Wednesday. They will help u get on your feet so u can survive when u get out. Oh and the men monitors are cute too, i know one resident who has started messing around with one recently. But the majority of them are not like that. It's a spiritually grounded place where God is first. Oh and you get to keep your phone and smoke whenever you want to. Let's see what else , Oh the food is good now it wasn't when I 1st got there but we complained about it at our weekly meeting and it has improved, a lot! As far as I'm concerned it's one of the best around, but I've only been to one other Christian guidance center, i caught COVID there. I was only there for 2 weeks but they never took my vitals when I was there. And Harbor Light checks them every 4 hours when you're in detox. And once you have completed everything you will get a certificate and a coin. Oh and u have to drop weekly, Oh and they also have a medical mobile unit that comes every Thursday iu need blood work or whatever done. They see I am prescribed Suboxone (have been for 5 plus years) and try to take me off of my psych meds I've been on for five years or longer.yes, one is a controlled substance but ive heard so many reasons why they won't or can't continue me on my medicine that I know works because I've been told multiple times completely different stories.it took years to find the right cocktail that works for me.only by the prescribing doctors do I ever have anything to complain about.i don't usually leave reviews for anything unless it's something I love or it's a genuine problem.i know plenty of people who are prescribed incredibly unnecessary amounts of drugs, or people with the same or similar combination I am on and don't have the problem i am having. opioid crisis I get it but not everyone taking them is abusing them.is the only way I'm going to get the same meds I've always been on by going to a shrink where I have to pay? I've seen plenty of doctors who weren't psych doctors but would still give me my psych meds with my Suboxone, yes things are different now more strict, but over the last two and a half years of trying to find a shrink to get my stuff from the right doctor , I haven't had a psych prescribe my psych meds to me In almost three years. My PCP and my Suboxone doctor help me by writing them as long as I show them I am trying to get in somewhere. So if it's perfectly fine for the doctors who really shouldn't be giving benzos scripts to me (psych meds were originally started from actual psychiatrist in the beginning) why in the EFF will absolutely no one help me?!? Colleen has done a wonderful job helping us communicate even if it’s uncomfortable for both of us. She helped save my beautiful daughter from going into a very dark place. I see some do not share the same experiences we have with Easterseals, but I’ve been in and out with my girls over the years, and between the staff, docs, and therapists, they have all done an amazing job, considering what they too, have to deal with day in and day out. At Trinity they treat you like a human being who is struggling, whereas, at Henry Ford they treat you from the very beginning of your admission like a criminal. Trinity Hospital in-patient psychiatric unit treats you with respect and dignity. Are there a few staff that aren't quite as good as others? Of course, but, overall Trinity tries to give it's patients an experience that will improve their mental health instead of further destroying someone's mental health like they do at places like Henry Ford. If I ever suffer any kind of emotional health crisis again I will be going to Trinity. My only gripes are they need more cards of different types for patients to play (Regular cards, Uno, Skip-Bo, etc.), bigger tables outside of the dining area so puzzles can be put together, more books of different kinds in their library, and I feel as if they try to shove you out the door too fast. At no point were they even close to capacity when I was there so I think they should slow it down for when there is not a lot of people. I also think there should be a separate ward for the more angry, aggressive patients. The people who run the groups are good, too, and deserve praise. I just hope whomever is in charge makes sure to keep an eye on the attitudes of the staff so there is no decline in how patients are treated. It takes an entire team to make sure patients are treated fairly and humanely but it only takes a few bad staff to ruin that. You're giving up autonomy to strangers who claim they will help you in a time of need -- this is a major decision. No one wants to check into the ER for a troubled mind. No one wants to reduce their humanity in a highly controlled environment just to keep themselves safe. No one wants to lose access to their phone, their family and friends, the things that make them feel connected to the world at large. And really, no one wants to eat hospital food three times a day. But if you're reading this review it's because there may be no other option but to do these things as you white-knuckle your way through a personal hell on Earth. I myself hit a breaking point recently and did not know where to go; I had been white-knuckling my own inner hell on Earth for weeks and finally imploded, then exploded. After two previous outpatient stays at other facilities across Michigan, multiple psychiatrists and psychologists and therapists, I committed to checking myself into Trinity just to try. Just to see. Just to find the light, if there could be some. And I did find some: The staff here is incredibly kind, helpful, and they never appear inconvenienced. I was given access to multiple different medical specialists and doctors who could discuss the nuanced angles of my struggles. The social workers listened with care. The nurses were good-humored and patient. The recreational therapists were joyful, always smiling. And the food, it turns out, was not all that bad (just make sure you get double portions of everything). I read books and looked out the window, and spoke with others who understood how I was feeling. I was able to rest. I was able to cry. I was able to feel my inner world fully and without judgement. I was anxious to leave when I regained my strength, as anyone would feel, and I felt I needed to leave a review as there were only a few by the time I Googled this facility; as I'm sure you're aware, mental health service providers suffer reviews that can be hard to trust or are designed to scare you based on a unique experience. All I can say is that I put my trust in Trinity and I left with my dignity intact. That is more than what can be said about a lot of places. I leave this review in the hopes that if you or a loved one needs intensive care, please call and give this place a try. The light is here if you need it.
