I see two providers (psychiatrist, therapist) Ramesh is a wonderful psychiatrist! I met her back in 2018, but only left because I got a therapist in a different office, where their policy was that I had to have their psychiatrist if I went to their therapist. I did not like the psychiatrist after Ramesh, I wanted to go back to her. I then moved states, where I had to change psychiatrists 3 times and went extended periods of time without one due to frustration. None of them worked for me. When I moved back to Michigan I was happy to come back to Ramesh, and was even happier that she remembered me after 5 years! The therapist I started seeing in the office is Moray, him and I clicked immediately and it makes going to therapy both fun and actually fruitful. He has a 50:50 listening/feedback style and he’s very realistic, not sugar coating anything, not taking or giving bs. Sometimes the things he says does hit pretty hard, but I personally need that, and it’s always been for the best. Because of this I can make the changes I need to with more clarity and sometimes even prevent problems I was going to create by trying to fix other problems. The office staff at the desk are very polite, I’ve never had any issues with them or getting ahold of them on the phone. I have however had issues with whoever deals with the medications. I was having a really big issue a while back with my sleep medication, so I called the office and explained, they directed me to the man that was dealing with the medications, I explained my issue.. he didn’t listen. In fact, when I tried to re-explain my problem as it was apparent he misheard me, he snapped at me, angrily telling me not to interrupt him and asked if I wanted my sleep meds or not. We ended up giving back and forth attitude over the phone for a bit, which is probably why my problem wasn’t fixed that day. The office itself is always very clean, and so is the building it’s located in. The office itself doesn’t have a bathroom for guests, but the building has bathrooms near the elevators. Unrelated but I don’t know who is doing this, but every time I go into the women’s bathroom on the first floor it smells like the aftermath of 77 White Castle sliders, Taco Bell burritos, and grande Starbucks lattes. Whoever is doing that, for the love of all that is holy please bring febreze in your purse. It would save lives. Specifically mine. So after careful consideration, the verdict is 4/5 stars, only taking one away because of the rude and unhelpful guy in medications. <3 Sarah Faith 1 year ago Update: Psychiatrist has been great, and I have had zero issues since my initial review with front desk staff. I have recommended Apex to friends and would continue to do so, my experience has not had any of the negatives shared in other reviews. The front desk staffing has improved, everyone has been 100% courteous and professional. Truly no complaints. I will update my review as my treatment continues, but it has so far been mostly positive. There must have been a change in front office since some of these reviews, as I never encountered any rudeness from the front desk staff. I will say that they are understaffed at the front desk leading to some extended wait times and potential for mistakes. Psychologist I have seen is fantastic, and they scheduled me to see a psychiatrist in less than a month, which sounds long but for the industry is actually quite soon. From my initial late night phone call with RN Jeanne who reassured me that I was correct in refusing to get stuck on suboxone for 7oh dependence to meeting with Laura and then all the great nursing/patient care staff (especially Pat, with RT) as well as Dr. Aharonov, this place is the real deal. I don’t think I would have been able to get off 7oh any other way. The morning after the procedure was no walk in the park (fatigue, diarrhea, nausea, insomnia); but not having to suffer thru the intense body aches and pains as well as other opiate withdrawal symptoms for 4-7 days at home was well worth the price of admission. If you can handle a bad hangover for a day plus a couple more days of diarrhea, you can handle this. They also give you meds to help ease whatever symptoms you have after. I can’t tell you how many times I had tried quitting at home unsuccessfully (even with comfort meds like gabapentin and clonidine); I knew I had to go somewhere where I could just “rip off the bandaid” and be done with the nightmare I was stuck in and flying to Michigan was one of the best decisions I’ve made in a long time. I’m going on nearly a month now since I was there and you couldn’t pay me enough to ever touch 7oh again. I’m forever grateful for this place and the amazing staff that works there. They have each others backs, they work with patients to be flexible, and the team as a whole works with synergy. Tiffani has the talent of memorization, multi-tasking, dealing with difficult situations, plus many others all while maintaining a professional & pleasant demeanor. RN Tanya is professional, explains things clearly & thoroughly, and has a really big heart for her job! Counselor Yete gives great talks & guidance. She shows concern for us, in our journey inside & outside of the clinic. She is wonderful! And of course our lovley Dr!!! She is so professional with the best bedside manner. The majority of the employees there care about the residents. It's clean, they make sure your withdrawals are not too bad. When u 1st arrived you will be in detox 3 days or so then go over to the residents side for 29 days. The rooms have 2 to 3 people in it with its own shower/bath. Breakfast is 7, lunch 11, dinner 4 and a snack at 8. If you're too sick to go to the dining area they will bring it to your room. Mondays and Tuesday are your long days you're in meetings from 9am to 10pm. Group meetings are mandatory every day 9-11. Church is on Sunday and Bible Study on Wednesday. They will help u get on your feet so u can survive when u get out. Oh and the men monitors are cute too, i know one resident who has started messing around with one recently. But the majority of them are not like that. It's a spiritually grounded place where God is first. Oh and you get to keep your phone and smoke whenever you want to. Let's see what else , Oh the food is good now it wasn't when I 1st got there but we complained about it at our weekly meeting and it has improved, a lot! As far as I'm concerned it's one of the best around, but I've only been to one other Christian guidance center, i caught COVID there. I was only there for 2 weeks but they never took my vitals when I was there. And Harbor Light checks them every 4 hours when you're in detox. And once you have completed everything you will get a certificate and a coin. Oh and u have to drop weekly, Oh and they also have a medical mobile unit that comes every Thursday iu need blood work or whatever done. Their front office staff has always been extremely supportive and helpful when I need and the therapists here truly care about helping people. I have seen the negative reviews this place has received and I can assure you that it’s not accurate to the staff and therapists here. I have been here for 2 years and have improved tremendously with my mental health and loss of my mother. They have a great team on group therapists and one on one therapist that work closely with their psychiatrists to make sure the right level of care and needs are being addressed. I've been to other treatment centers but Nardin Park outclasses them all by leaps and bounds. The staff has a friendly but no nonsense attitude which I appreciate. They are professional and caring at the same time. For someone like me that is here for treatment and not a "Social Club", NPRC is the place to be!!! Well, it's 2023 and time for a life change. Thanks to NPRC I have been "clean" for over 2 years. I feel that I am ready to take the next step in my life. Time to detox out of the program. I am so ready to move on. They see I am prescribed Suboxone (have been for 5 plus years) and try to take me off of my psych meds I've been on for five years or longer.yes, one is a controlled substance but ive heard so many reasons why they won't or can't continue me on my medicine that I know works because I've been told multiple times completely different stories.it took years to find the right cocktail that works for me.only by the prescribing doctors do I ever have anything to complain about.i don't usually leave reviews for anything unless it's something I love or it's a genuine problem.i know plenty of people who are prescribed incredibly unnecessary amounts of drugs, or people with the same or similar combination I am on and don't have the problem i am having. opioid crisis I get it but not everyone taking them is abusing them.is the only way I'm going to get the same meds I've always been on by going to a shrink where I have to pay? I've seen plenty of doctors who weren't psych doctors but would still give me my psych meds with my Suboxone, yes things are different now more strict, but over the last two and a half years of trying to find a shrink to get my stuff from the right doctor , I haven't had a psych prescribe my psych meds to me In almost three years. My PCP and my Suboxone doctor help me by writing them as long as I show them I am trying to get in somewhere. So if it's perfectly fine for the doctors who really shouldn't be giving benzos scripts to me (psych meds were originally started from actual psychiatrist in the beginning) why in the EFF will absolutely no one help me?!? If you're reading this review, you might be considering intervention for yourself or a loved one. You might be crying, hurting, screaming into the void; it's terrifying to look at where one might go to be cared for at a time that feels overwhelming, isolating, and dark. You're giving up autonomy to strangers who claim they will help you in a time of need -- this is a major decision. No one wants to check into the ER for a troubled mind. No one wants to reduce their humanity in a highly controlled environment just to keep themselves safe. No one wants to lose access to their phone, their family and friends, the things that make them feel connected to the world at large. And really, no one wants to eat hospital food three times a day. But if you're reading this review it's because there may be no other option but to do these things as you white-knuckle your way through a personal hell on Earth. I myself hit a breaking point recently and did not know where to go; I had been white-knuckling my own inner hell on Earth for weeks and finally imploded, then exploded. After two previous outpatient stays at other facilities across Michigan, multiple psychiatrists and psychologists and therapists, I committed to checking myself into Trinity just to try. Just to see. Just to find the light, if there could be some. And I did find some: The staff here is incredibly kind, helpful, and they never appear inconvenienced. I was given access to multiple different medical specialists and doctors who could discuss the nuanced angles of my struggles. The social workers listened with care. The nurses were good-humored and patient. The recreational therapists were joyful, always smiling. And the food, it turns out, was not all that bad (just make sure you get double portions of everything). I read books and looked out the window, and spoke with others who understood how I was feeling. I was able to rest. I was able to cry. I was able to feel my inner world fully and without judgement. I was anxious to leave when I regained my strength, as anyone would feel, and I felt I needed to leave a review as there were only a few by the time I Googled this facility; as I'm sure you're aware, mental health service providers suffer reviews that can be hard to trust or are designed to scare you based on a unique experience. All I can say is that I put my trust in Trinity and I left with my dignity intact. That is more than what can be said about a lot of places. I leave this review in the hopes that if you or a loved one needs intensive care, please call and give this place a try. The light is here if you need it.
