About APEX Recovery San Diego

Subheader Text

APEX Recovery San Diego is an addiction recovery center on Camino del Rio in San Diego, California. They treat clients with substance use and co-occurring (dual diagnosis) mental health disorders. They have residential and outpatient programs, including detox. Their treatment programs also include medication assisted treatment (MAT) options. To qualify for the outpatient detox program, you must be on MediCal or be eligible. They accept private insurance for inpatient detox and the outpatient and residential substance use treatment programs.

MediCal Funded Treatment

The outpatient program welcomes everyone 18 and older who lives in San Diego County and is MediCal eligible or on MediCal. Their outpatient services include assessments, withdrawal management and recovery. You’ll receive MAT if it’s an appropriate treatment for your situation.

Through counseling, you’ll get to the root of your addictions. It’s common for people with substance use disorder (SUD) to have simultaneous mental health issues such as depression, anxiety or bipolar disorder. Counseling identifies your issues and helps you learn the best ways to manage them.

The counselors here apply several therapeutic methods during treatment including motivational interviewing, dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). These traditional approaches give you insight and equip you with the tools you need to deal with stress and triggers in your daily life.

Private Insurance Programs

They also offer an intensive outpatient program (IOP) and partial outpatient programs (PHPs) as well as inpatient detox and a residential program. These programs are for those with private insurance only.

Holistic Approach to Substance Use Disorder in San Diego, California

The staff at APEX understands that addiction is not only a physical condition but also a mental health issue. To address the connection between the mental and physical, they offer additional holistic therapies. These include exercise programs, yoga, massage therapy and nutritional counseling.

I consider myself very lucky and Fortunate to have discovered this place. I was sent here by my family and Girlfriend to try and escape the clutches of one of the most horrible addictions known to humans, and that's Opioid addiction.... When I first arrived here I was very negative and pessimistic about everything they were about and everything they wanted to do with me.. I absolutely thought this was a complete waste of time.. But I was SO VERY WRONG... This place was perhaps the most wonderful, understanding, comfortable, peaceful and caring places I've ever been in my entire life.. You See, The ppl i am around in my normal life i cannot in ANYWAY discuss or even give them the slightest hint I may have a substance problem or it could cost me everything. And when I say everything I literally mean my business, my family, my finances and probably even my inheritance.. My family (mom and dad and siblings) come from a generation that sees any type of substance abuse as a weakness and there just simply isn't any kind of a "recovery" because it shouldn't of happened in the first place... No matter the situation you should not of been weak to let it happen... Not to manufacture any excuses but i was in combat and seen things along with going through some very extreme situations putting my mental and physical condition through the depths of hell.. I also was injured in a very bad automobile accident that fractured 2 vertebrae in my neck ,broke my wrist, hand, and nose, I also had my eyelid ripped off requiring plastic surgery to repair in this automobile accident.. Of course the doctors prescribe me pain medication like candy of which started me on my 24 year Opioid Addiction... So even though I may have some legitimate reasons to of been led down the path of Addiction, to my family These reasons are not sound and are just half ass excuses.. So now I am introduced to APEX... The Place that was so god sent i had to pinch myself sometimes to make sure I was really there..I have never been to a place where I could talk out loud about my drug problems and the real kicker is i can talk to ANYONE I wanted to about this problem.. I have never been able to do this. And these ppl were also so unbelievably caring and understanding I still couldn't believe this was a real place.. I was so grateful for being here and I didn't know how to repay these ppl & this place for caring about me when they were not even related to me nor did they know me.. I am in tears right now as I write this because it's been just over 2 years since I have left that wonderful place and unfortunately I have relapsed and fallen back into the hell of Addiction..... When I got home ,without the help of my family along with the constant put downs & ridicule by my family I finally broke down and started using again.. I do wanna state this is ABSOLUTELY NO WAY THE Fault of Apex.. This is entirely my fault, my fault for letting my family break me down and destroy me and letting them win.. I do wish I could go back to APEX. Actually it would be a Dream Come True if I could return to the place of angeles and where ppl care more about you than you can imagine....

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

Clients receiving treatment at an outpatient rehab typically do not require hospitalization or intensive supervision and support. Outpatient addiction counseling and recovery education are often offered during the morning, evening, night, and weekend, allowing clients to tailor treatment to their own schedule. Partial hospitalization (PHP) and intensive outpatient (IOP) programs are the most time-intensive and are designed for clients who are at an increased relapse risk and/or who need more robust therapeutic support.

Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.

Intensive Outpatient programs are for those who want or need a very structured treatment program but who also wish to live at home and continue with certain responsibilities (such as work or school). IOP substance abuse treatment programs vary in duration and intensity, and certain outpatient rehab centers will offer individualized treatment programs. The Intensive Outpatient Program gives patients the chance to participate in a structured treatment plan part-time while they transition back to home and work or other responsibilities.

Rehab aftercare programs offer clients in addiction recovery a robust continuum of care after clients have completed active treatment. These services address recovery as a life-long process and are designed to evolve with clients' changing needs. Clients may partner with their case managers and/or addiction recovery team to identify the rehab aftercare services that are right for them. They may receive career counseling, housing assistance, peer coaching, 12 step program induction, among many other services.

Programs

Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.

Recovery is most successful when clients feel accepted and validated by their peers and treatment providers. Facilities that offer LGBTQ-inclusive programming are committed to creating a safe space where everyone can grow and recover without fear of judgment or discrimination. They will have dedicated policies in place to create a safe and supportive environment that fosters free expression.

Clinical Services

Cognitive behavioral therapy in California is a method that therapists often use for the effective treatment of substance use disorders. It is based on the principle that substance abuse stems from unhelpful ways of thinking and patterns of behavior, which can be changed by helping the individual learn better ways of coping.

While participating in dialectical behavior therapy in California, you'll focus on four key areas of skill development: mindfulness, interpersonal effectiveness, emotion regulation, and distress tolerance. Treatment includes weekly individual and group sessions.

During group therapy, men and women learn to express their emotions openly in a non judgmental setting. This helps you process your feelings and reduces feelings of social isolation that are often associated with addiction.

Individual therapy for drug addiction includes a customized treatment plan that considers your history and life circumstances. During your therapy sessions, the therapist helps you uncover underlying issues and triggers for addictive behavior that support a holistic approach to recovery.

Trauma therapy is a structured approach used by therapists to help you heal from a past traumatic event. Your therapist works with you to identify the traumatic memory and process the information so you experience emotional healing and a sense of safety and stability.

Family therapy offers a platform for members to have an open dialogue about the challenges that addiction has placed on the family unit. Through guided sessions, therapists can help families develop healthy communication skills and address unresolved issues. By working together toward a common goal, they help to support their loved one's sobriety.

Accreditations

State Licenses are permits issued by government agencies that allow rehab organizations to conduct business legally within a certain geographical area. Typically, the kind of program a rehab facility offers, along with its physical location, determines which licenses are required to operate legally.
