About Arbor Circle Counseling

Arbor Circle Counseling is a mental health counseling and substance abuse treatment center in a commercial district of Newaygo, Michigan. This picturesque town is found along the Muskegon River in the western part of the state.

They offer over 50 programs and services that help foster positive change within the community. One primary program is substance use recovery that includes assessments, peer support, and gender-responsive care. Care is provided at this location as well as in several of the local jails.

Facilitating a Healthy Community and Your Recovery

Substance use recovery is a lifelong journey and they are committed to walking alongside you, providing comprehensive services that include crisis intervention, individual, group, and family therapies, as well as advocacy within the community. These components play a role in facilitating a healthy community and supporting your recovery process.

They offer recovery services for drug and alcohol addiction that include gender-specific support for women, substance use assessments, and recovery management. They address the needs of people who are addicted to alcohol, methamphetamines, opioids, prescription drugs, and more.

Dynamic Solution in Western Michigan

Your care can include an assessment and tailored treatment plan using specialized services like medication assisted treatment (MAT) and an intensive outpatient program (IOP). IOP is provided when you have a moderate to severe diagnosis. It offers a dynamic solution using a customized treatment approach to help you achieve sobriety. These programs help bridge the gap between traditional outpatient care programs and residential treatment.

They offer flexible scheduling with sessions that are available in the morning and early evening so you have the opportunity to continue to meet some of your academic and work responsibilities while still receiving care.

The admission team helps provide you with the information you need to decide about receiving care. They work with most major insurance providers in Western Michigan but encourage you to contact them regardless of whether you’re uninsured or underinsured. Many of their services are offered free of charge when you qualify.

As if it's not bad enough that mentally some of us are struggling.. So we call to get help and unfortunately the receptionist has to rude for no reason, judgmental, and down right nasty. I asked for her supervisor or manager. And she flat out told me no and then hung up on me. I continue to call back hoping that I wasn't going to get the same person.. finally somebody nice answered the phone and transferred me to a supervisor

I've dealt with arbor circle a number of times over the past 20 years. This is NOT an addiction health center. Also, The folks I've dealt with have been consistently rude and judgemental. I don't recommend this mental health center to anyone!

Other Forms of Payment

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Addiction Treatments

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Drug rehab in Michigan provides personalized treatment to help individuals break this cycle and regain control of their lives. Treatment methods are used in various levels of care, including inpatient rehab, partial hospitalization programs, intensive outpatient programs, and standard outpatient treatment.

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Programs

Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Dr. Baker is a joke. I went to him for help getting myself off the morphine my doctor put me on. Of my own volition. We met for less than a minute. I said I didn't like being talked to or treated like a junkie. He threw a temper tantrum and told me to get out. Like a 5 year old child. Clearly he doesn't give a damn about helping anyone. Only if you talk the way he wants you to. Don't waste your time. I put myself into the required 48 hour withdrawal for nothing.

Very helpful. Receptionist was a little short/rude but the counselors were terrific and it's hard to say she might have been having a really bad day you can't judge a person from one experience.
