About Henry Ford Warren Hospital

This center was affiliated with Ascension Macomb-Oakland Hospital’s Warren Campus. Formerly known as the Comprehensive Counseling Center, it was renamed to Henry Ford Warren Hospital. Based in Warren, Michigan, care is offered to clients of all ages. Most commercial health insurance providers are accepted.

Drug Detox Services in Macomb County

Perhaps you’ll begin your recovery journey with detox to clear your system of addictive substances under medical supervision. This facility offers inpatient and outpatient options.

The residential detox center is recommended to anyone who may have already tried outpatient detox options to no avail, or even those who may have trouble traveling to one of the center’s outpatient locations on a daily basis. Residential detox is also highly recommended if you’ve concurrent medical or behavioral health conditions that should be monitored for safety, particularly things like high blood pressure or even depression.

Outpatient detox can be negotiated if the center’s addiction physician agrees that you’re eligible to safely undergo the process in this setting. This option allows you to continue any work or study routines alongside the program. Expect to engage in regular counseling sessions and elements of intensive outpatient programming (IOP). Detox for teens is available exclusively on an outpatient basis.

Medication-assisted treatment (MAT) will also likely be used to minimize your risk of health complications and generally make you comfortable.

IOP for Substance Abuse in Warren

IOP is available to adults aged 18 and older, providing a structured and supportive framework in which clients can tackle their addiction while continuing with their day-to-day routines. Following physical and psychosocial assessments, participants receive tailored treatment plans to guide them along. Expect plenty of group work with treatment taking place three times a week for three hours per session across six weeks. Individual and family sessions can also be scheduled as needed.

Virtual IOP sessions are also an option, depending on your location and situation, and detox and MAT may be included if deemed necessary.

The mental trauma I went through going to this place remain almost 2 years after I finally found a new psychiatrist. Over 5 years of going here, they needlessly took so much money from me just to get a single prescription every month. They never gave me a break when I couldn't fork over $90 just to see the DR without insurance (with insurance they suddenly dropped my plan) and there was no need as the doc could've written for a 3 month supply.Several times, the office manager woman got visibly upset with me for asking simple questions and yelled at me on more than one occasion. The DR questioned whether I even had a disorder and always went through the motions, never displaying any human caring emotions. This counseling center is not a place for "mental health," it is a business focused on draining people for every cent they can get; a holistically unethical money pit. Find another doctor, you'll be much happier.

The Staffwith which I have interacted over the last year 1/2 are not good listeners. They raise their voice and frequently talk over me. They are rude and do not understand the law. I am a Care Giver to a 70 year old man whom is blind. I manage his health care. He has given his Dr and the Staff permission to allow me to accompany him for his appointments and to have access to his health care records. The Staff position is that I need Guardianship, which is not required by law for consenting adults. The primary reason the Patient is seeking treatment is to promote his independence in order to avoid Gardianship. The Staff refuses to allow me to make appointments even though the Patient is dependant upon me for transportation! In addition, neither the Patient nor myself can ever get anyone live by telephone; voicemail message contact only. Calls are not returned. The Patient and myself are working with legal counsel to resolve the problems. This should not be necessary! I would not recommend this facility to anyone.

Accepted Insurance

Henry Ford Warren Hospital works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

aftercare iconAftercare Support

Completing a drug or alcohol rehab program shouldn't spell the end of substance abuse treatment. Aftercare involves making a sustainable plan for recovery, including ongoing support. This can include sober living arrangements like halfway houses, career counseling, and setting a patient up with community programs like Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) or Narcotics Anonymous (NA).

inpatient iconInpatient

Clients in inpatient rehab reside at the treatment facility while engaging in intensive daily treatment. Inpatient care is primarily designed for clients leaving detox, those in early recovery, and those at an elevated risk of relapse. Clients participate in intensive addiction counseling, which may include group and family therapy as well as one-on-one sessions. Recovery-focused life skills training is also often prioritized. Many inpatient rehabs offer evidence-based complementary therapies, such as yoga, meditation, art therapy, and animal therapy.

outpatient iconOutpatient

Clients receiving care at an outpatient rehab remain in their own homes and attend treatment as often as daily, depending on the level of need. Outpatient care generally consists of psychotherapy, addiction education, life skills training, and community reintegration support. Many outpatient treatment centers provide step-down care, including partial hospitalization (PHP), intensive outpatient (IOP), sober living, and standard outpatient services. Some outpatient rehabs also offer ambulatory medical detox and medication assisted treatment (MAT).

partial-hospitalization iconPartial Hospitalization Program

While many people know it as "day treatment", a partial hospitalization program (PHP) offers treatment during the day and allows you to live at home. PHP treatment typically requires a commitment of at least 20 hours of treatment every week, with a program duration that spans approximately 90 days. While commuting is necessary, some programs offer telehealth options. PHP treatment plans usually include relapse prevention, medication management, and behavioral therapy.

intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient

Clients receiving care in an intensive outpatient program (IOP) typically have completed inpatient treatment, but some choose to enroll in IOP immediately following detox. Intensive outpatient rehabs offer high-level support for clients in early recovery and those at an increased risk of relapse. Most programs provide between nine and 20 hours of treatment per week, with services ranging from addiction counseling to recovery education to medication assisted treatment (MAT). Holistic therapies, such as acupuncture, are common.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Drug rehab in Michigan provides personalized treatment to help individuals break this cycle and regain control of their lives. Treatment methods are used in various levels of care, including inpatient rehab, partial hospitalization programs, intensive outpatient programs, and standard outpatient treatment.

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

In Michigan, specialized substance abuse treatment programs are available for individuals struggling with drug and alcohol use. These programs utilize evidence-based therapies such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and motivational interviewing. Treatment options usually include outpatient, inpatient, and residential programs, offering individuals a comprehensive approach to recovery. Through a combination of therapy, counseling, and support, treatment can help individuals regain control of their lives and achieve long-term sobriety.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image

Adult Program

Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
young-adult-program thumbnail image

Young Adult Program

Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.
military-program thumbnail image

Military Program

Serving in the military is both mentally and physically challenging, and can result in trauma that persists even after combat ends. Military programs are tailored to the specific and often complex needs of active duty personnel, veterans, and military families. Clients often access these programs through the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Whether a marriage or other committed relationship, an intimate partnership is one of the most important aspects of a person's life. Drug and alcohol addiction affects both members of a couple in deep and meaningful ways, as does rehab and recovery. Couples therapy and other couples-focused treatment programs are significant parts of exploring triggers of addiction, as well as learning how to build healthy patterns to support ongoing sobriety.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Addiction often involves intense situations and emotions. Dialectical behavior therapy helps you understand and regulate your emotions and better manage the situations that evoke those feelings. You'll receive mindfulness training and stress management training to cope more effectively with difficult emotions.

Office staff does not comply with patients medical documentation requests and the billing staff has no trouble turning patients away over petty co-pays less than $20. They also lie in the Medicare billing, you get less than 2 minutes with the doctor and they bill Medicare for a full hour. Medicare, Licensing and Regulatory Affairs of Michigan and the Federal Trade Commission should investigate this place. Dr Ramakrishna during my time here was unbelievably unprofessional. What kind of doctor sits with a patient for under 2 minutes and gives them a script. This is psychiatry not a urgent care. Even in a urgent care that would be seen ad unprofessional. I hope others file complaints with L.A.R.A, FTC, and Medicare if they suspect their rights are being violated or their insurance is being defrauded

Most of the staff are very friendly. I had to cancel the last couple of appointments due to my ongoing health issues. Today I received a call from the office manager about canceling the last few appointments but I always would reschedule. But today she calls me and is very rude and condescending to me. She proceeds to school me about if I cancel an appointment it's taking up time for someone else to get. I tried to explain to her about my health problems, she didn't care. Then I try to explain to I've worked in a field as a receptionist scheduling patients. She cut me off and said psychiatry is different from the field I was in. Again I tried to say I know there different but scheduling patients in sny field is the same. She cut me off again and snapped at me about if I wanted to reschedule I said yes but she said she wasn't going to do it shed have somebody else call me. I'm wsd so frustrated because of my medical issues I can't make appointments sometimes. Dr Sam is nice but after driving over 20 min he's in to see my parent less than a minute unless I stop him because of questions. It feels like a waste of time and all to get the $40 copay plus whatever insurance pays. Also office is very outdated and needs a makeover.

Dr. Sam may be a very busy guy but he is very intelligent and caring, it takes time to find the right combination of meds and he knows what he is doing. Also if you have things to talk about write them down and he will talk to you. I think he’s a good psychiatrist, and I would recommend this place.

I Absolutely use to Love Dr. Sam, until he dropped me after 15 years because his office manager told a lie on me after she caused me to get fired from my job because she did not send in my job excuse by the deadline.

It’s been hard to get a hold of the secretaries since they began teleworking. They do not answer the phone. They leave the recording that the office is closed during working hours. You leave a message and they do not bother to call you back.
