Recently had surgery at this hospital, and I was very scared the whole time. However, every single person that I came in contact with was above and beyond amazing. Communication left absolutely no question unanswered, kindness was so above and beyond they were nicer to me than some of my family. Everybody was truly amazing. I met my entire team before surgery, and everybody spoke to me after. The nurses were so kind. And Dr Zamora did amazing with my surgery. I cannot say enough good things about the experience I had. I truly appreciate them so much. It can be super scary when health issues happen so if you are in that unfortunate situation I 1,000,000% recommend this hospital. You absolutely could not be treated better.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.

Treatments

Mental health rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from mental illnesses like bipolar disorder, clinical depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, and more. Mental health professionals at these facilities are trained to understand and treat mental health issues, both in individual and group settings.

Programs

Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.

Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Serving in the military is both mentally and physically challenging, and can result in trauma that persists even after combat ends. Military programs are tailored to the specific and often complex needs of active duty personnel, veterans, and military families. Clients often access these programs through the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a modified form of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a treatment designed to help people understand and ultimately affect the relationship between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. DBT is often used for individuals who struggle with self-harm behaviors, such as self-mutilation (cutting) and suicidal thoughts, urges, or attempts. It has been proven clinically effective for those who struggle with out-of-control emotions and mental health illnesses like Borderline Personality Disorder.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Nutrition therapy, aka medical nutrition therapy (MNT), is a way of treating physical, emotional, and medical conditions through diet. Specific dietary plans are designed by professional nutritionists or registered dietitians, and patients follow them in order to positively affect their physical and mental health.

Recreational therapy (aka therapeutic recreation) uses creative and fun activities to help with addiction recovery. Recreational therapists lead patients in entertaining and engaging activities like sports or games; art (drawing, painting, sculpture); drama, music, and dance; and/or community outings (field trips) to improve patients' physical, social, and emotional well-being.

Experiential therapy is a form of therapy in which clients are encouraged to surface and work through subconscious issues by engaging in real-time experiences. Experiential therapy departs from traditional talk therapy by involving the body, and having clients engage in activities, movements, and physical and emotional expression. This can involve role-play or using props (which can include other people). Experiential therapy can help people process trauma, memories, and emotion quickly, deeply, and in a lasting fashion, leading to substantial and impactful healing.

When used as recommended, nicotine replacement therapy in Texas provides enough nicotine to help you avoid severe cravings and withdrawal symptoms after quitting smoking. This increases comfort so you're less likely to relapse into your smoking habit.

The experience we had at DeTar Healthcare System North ER was very disappointing and unprofessional. While caring for my infant, the doctors and nurses were openly talking badly about other patients right outside our room with the door open. After questioning if a painful procedure was necessary for my infant the doctor said “so are you going to do it or not?” In a very annoyed tone. I felt that was highly disrespectful and inappropriate. One nurse complained about getting poop on her from my literal baby, and a nurse dropped a sample on the floor and then shifted the blame to my baby instead of taking accountability. As a parent bringing in a sick child, this environment felt uncomfortable, disrespectful, and lacking compassion. Patients and families deserve professionalism, compassion and respectful care, especially during stressful medical situations. We went to citizens after and had a 10000x better experience immediately. They listened to me and were extremely friendly. I’ve always had the most supportive experience at citizens.

My complaint is as a witness to the traumatic experience that was caused by Gus Zamora as I witnessed him do anything but a good doctors job. I was physically present during this experience and witnessed firsthand how patients under his “care” are treated during one of the most vulnerable moments of their lives. To start off. I arrived at the hospital at 3am after driving an hour and half as I was the patients support system. Upon arrival I was not allowed into the room until 7 AM, and I was told to “wait in your car.” So, for 4 HOURS- I waited in the parking lot unable to see the first time mom; despite the patient also being in active labor. Denying a laboring woman access to her chosen support person during active labor is not just inconsiderate — it is harmful. Labor is not a “routine procedure”; it is a deeply physical and emotional event, and removing support at that stage adds unnecessary distress. I was also not permitted to record or document any part of the experience, as it was important for the patient to have documented. While policies may exist, the level of restriction and lack of transparency contributed to an environment that felt controlled rather than patient-centered. What I witnessed was a consistent lack of communication, disregard for the patients clearly stated wishes in her birthing plan that were given by the patient, asked for several times by given patient and never to be seen again by the nurses; behavior that came across as dismissive and, at times, coercive. A patient in labor should NEVER feel pressured, ignored, or afraid of the very people responsible for her care. This was not simply a “difficult delivery.” It reflected a deeper issue in how patient autonomy and dignity are handled. Every woman deserves to feel safe, heard, and respected during childbirth. That standard was not met here. I urge this facility to take a hard look at its practices, staff conduct, and how consent and communication are handled during labor and delivery. What happened here should not have happened, nor should it happen to anyone else. DO BETTER.!

This place is horrible I will only speak for the 4th floor of this hospital I pray to God no one’s family member ever has to deal with these people. No patience what so ever & my mom hardly got seen & they wondered why she was non compliant. I wouldn’t wish this treatment on my worst enemy. You reap what you sow & im going to leave it at that.
