I wanted to take a few minutes to write a review about an experience I had at the Victoria VA Clinic. I have been going to the Victoria clinic for at least 20 years even though I have my own personal insurance. Currently I am on Medicare and I have a Blue Cross supplemental. Now after the following experience I will always use the VA as my Primary medical. About a month ago I was at a dance competition with my wife and I started having episodes of blurry vision in my left eye. I had a routine appointment with the clinic for an eye exam the Monday after this experience. This eye exam is something new that I have never been called to have done. I think it was just a new thing that the VA was just starting to offer Veterans. Anyway I went in for that exam and they took a bunch of pictures of both eyes. The next morning I got a call from my VA Dr that apparently reviewed the photos and he was very concerned that I had a blood clot in my left eye. He said he was immeidetly going to set up an appointment with an eye specialist in Victoria. A few days later I saw the eye Dr and he did not see any clot so he summerized that I was throwing random clots and suggested I see my cardiologist for a possible carotid artery issue. I went the next day to my heart Dr and they did an ultrasound and discovered I had at least a 95% blockage. They sent me directly to a vascular surgeon in San Antonio who at once set up a brain angiogram the same week on Thursday and determined it to be a 99% blockage on the left side and 75 on the right. The next morning the vascular surgeon did the surgery on the left side and I am currently recovering with a 100% success. Because of my VA Clinic Dr being very professional and diligent and taking immediate action he likely saved my life or at the very least eliminated the great possibility of a massive stroke. I am so grateful for our local VA Clinic and all of the professional staff that assisted me thru this life changing experience. It seems the VA gets a lot of negative feedback and unwarranted comments from a lot of people but my experience with the VA for the last 20 years has been execellent. Thank you and Bravo to the Victoria VA clinic and especially to the amazing Dr that caught this problem and took immediate action. I am forever grateful.

Friendly helpful staff. Comfortable atmosphere. Make u relax with their familiarity as you get to know each other. Fabulous support system!! Lots of different options for many different topics. Help is just a step or call away. Walk in intake. Transportation help to and from appointments for Dr, meds, assessments, paperwork, community reference lists. So helpful!! They really listen and communicate. So many possibilities for help with your mental health which is so important!!

Recently had surgery at this hospital, and I was very scared the whole time. However, every single person that I came in contact with was above and beyond amazing. Communication left absolutely no question unanswered, kindness was so above and beyond they were nicer to me than some of my family. Everybody was truly amazing. I met my entire team before surgery, and everybody spoke to me after. The nurses were so kind. And Dr Zamora did amazing with my surgery. I cannot say enough good things about the experience I had. I truly appreciate them so much. It can be super scary when health issues happen so if you are in that unfortunate situation I 1,000,000% recommend this hospital. You absolutely could not be treated better.

I truly believe the “secret sauce” everyone talks about at The Orchard is community. This place is horrible I will only speak for the 4th floor of this hospital I pray to God no one’s family member ever has to deal with these people. No patience what so ever & my mom hardly got seen & they wondered why she was non compliant. I wouldn’t wish this treatment on my worst enemy. You reap what you sow & im going to leave it at that.

Today is day three of being admitted into Willow springs. I can’t say enough about this place. If you’re thinking about getting help and looking at Willow springs, choose this place. I’m not going to sugar coat it, recovery isn’t easy, detox isn’t easy - but this place is great. The staff cares about you, the other patients are friendly and care about each other, it truly is a community from top to bottom that cares about you and cares about each other. Recovery is a hard path, but it’s worth it. Willow springs - thank you so much, I can’t wait to see who I am when I leave, and that’s all due to you giving me the tools to be the best version of my self.

I LOVE this place. I've been to many other recovery centers and this one is by far the best one I've been to. The therapy and counseling is on point, no bs and no beating around the bush. Every time I went to group, the sessions got very deep, and that is exactly what a person with any addiction needs. Not only that, the staff treat you very kindly and are always open to support you. Also, the food is AMAZING. They have a chef that prepares 3 REAL meals a day and is always a different meal (who wouldn't want that?!). There are many things to do for closure too, like games and movie nights. If you are worried about detox, the nurses will fix you right up. This place has been very helpful and fun too, so I really do recommend Taylor Recovery if you are looking for just the right place.

I can’t say enough great things about this facility and the entire staff. From day one, everyone made me feel welcomed, supported, and truly cared for. I was especially lucky to find a treatment center that accepts pets — if they hadn’t, I honestly wouldn’t have been able to come to treatment. That meant everything to me. A huge shout out to my counselor, Ms. Kim Isaac. She went above and beyond to help me through one of the hardest times in my life. Her patience, understanding, and genuine care made a real difference in my recovery. She truly listens, offers guidance without judgment, and helped me build the tools I needed to move forward. This place changes lives. Its helped me to have the tools to accurately address and process what my addiction and addictive behaviors look like both mentally and physically. How my trauma has played a role in my life and how to deal with it and myself daily. The amount of growth that can be gained in a few weeks and months is a miracle. It’s hard to put into words the amount of gratitude I feel for Robert Kidd & “the Room” @ Positive Recovery, but I will give it my best shot. After finding myself at an ultimate low & loosing nearly everything that ever mattered to me in life, I found myself sitting in what we call “the room”. Robert asked me a question that I had no idea wld be the start of a new & beautiful journey…. “Who is Kat?” Take away the kids, the marriage, the job, etc…most of which I had lost at that point anyway - who was I, at my core? I had absolutely no idea - but thankfully, I had a willingness & a safe place to find out. Thru some really challenging assignments & sitting in the room w/ others who were willing to open up & share things we probably wldn’t otherwise talk about…I found myself doing the same. In doing so, I have been able to let go of things I didn’t even realize I had been holding onto & have rediscovered who I AM. It’s a special room & To say that I’m grateful is a serious understatement. Everyday is a gift 🙏 I realize that more today than ever. #soberaf #onedayatatime

I hope this review reaches you when you’re feeling like you’ve tried everything and nothing has worked. If that’s where you are, know that PRC will give you the help you need, and Robert Kidd is in the business of the highest calling—Saving Lives. There are a few moments in my life that I can pinpoint as truly life-saving, and my experience at PRC is one of them. There are plenty of IOP programs around, but the people at this center, especially Robert Kidd, are on a whole different level. Before coming to PRC in San Marcos, I had been through three treatment centers and several Intensive Outpatient Programs, with my life in complete disarray. But everything changed when I met Robert. When you show up at an IOP, it’s not on your best day—it’s one of the lowest. My family had given up on me, and I didn’t have anyone to help me sort through the wreckage of my life and guide me forward. I felt hopeless, like rebuilding my life wasn’t possible. Robert took me in at my lowest point, and I’ll never forget what he said after going through the intake process. He looked at me—a 28-year-old man, fresh out of my second rehab, with a newborn child—and smiled. “Hey Bud, we’re going to get through this. And I don’t just mean maintain—I mean thrive. I have high hopes for you, John.” It had been a long time since someone believed in me. Robert became the father figure I needed when mine had stopped speaking to me. From that moment, I gave everything I had to getting clean. I had never stayed clean and sober for more than 12 days, but Robert's belief in me made me want to succeed. It wasn’t the money spent on rehab or the numerous counselors and medications that made the difference—it was Robert’s belief in me. He didn’t just let me slip away when I missed a group session; he would reach out, encourage me, and motivate me to keep going. Positive Recovery is a game changer. I've been on my own recovery road for years by myself but l've never been able to connect all the pieces to stay sober. PRC provided me with tools I could use on a day to day basis that help me through life's situations as they come. Glenn, one of the counselors at the Cinco Ranch location, is very insightful and actually in recovery himself. He could relate to what I've been through and what I go through daily. I have had a life changing experience during my stay under the care of New Choices. I have been to treatment before and this felt different i believe because of the curriculum and staff. The medical staff including nursing was top notch and the counselors are fabulous the family program and its counselors need some work — they came across as unprepared and didn't seem to know what they were talking about as much. Some of them even rude and hostile. and talk about outdated ideas on relationships.... dude are you married? do you live in the modern world? don't talk to me about "providing for my wife" when she makes more money than me. please just help me where i am at.

La Hacienda truly changed my life. I’ve been to treatment centers all over the state of Texas, and La Hacienda was the last treatment center I ever had to go to. The 28 days I spent there helped save my life and gave me the foundation I needed for long term recovery. The staff genuinely care and are always available to help, encourage, and support clients through every stage of the process. The program is strongly rooted in a 12 step approach, which was exactly what I needed, while also offering specialized programming to meet different individual needs. The campus is beautiful, peaceful, and very clean, creating an environment where healing feels possible. The medical staff were also incredible and made me feel safe and cared for throughout my stay. I will always be grateful for the experience I had at La Hacienda and for the role they played in helping me rebuild my life.
