About Brazos Place

Brazos Place is a rehab for adults and young adults in Freeport, Texas, with drug and alcohol addiction. While they treat men and women, they have separate programs for each gender so they can offer more specialized treatment. In fact, they put together a customized treatment plan for every client so you’ll get therapy that’s specifically designed for you and your recovery.

This rehab is best known for its residential or inpatient program. They have a 30 day minimum but a lot of people stay longer. It just depends on your progress and what you need for your healing and sobriety. After you’ve completed your residential program, they’ve several levels of outpatient treatment so you can keep working with them as you step down and transition toward independent sobriety.

As far as the programs themselves they’ll vary based on you and your needs. Individual counseling and group counseling are big parts of the program. They’ll also educate you and your family about addiction and recovery and they’ll help you make plans to prevent relapse. Along the way, you’ll take in plenty of fun outings and recreation too so it’s not all hard work.

Many clients of Brazos Place credit this rehab with changing or even saving their lives. So many of them talk about how the staff goes above and beyond to support them and help them grow in their wellness and recovery.

Be careful with this place. They re not very thorough with the process. Information was discussed on the phone about medication being taken with a friend of mine who is personally trying to get help on his own and ended up driving a whole hour and a half to get there then when getting there they told him they won t except him because of the prescribed anxiety medicine that he had already informed them that he took over the phone, not very professional! Employees should take the care seriously and not play with people s lively hood. This wasn t ok and should be handled I shouldn t have to make a review about something like this about a place that s suppose to help people ! My friend hadn t taken his medicine for 2 weeks and told them this but they refused to give a UA and wouldn t even listen to him!

Other Forms of Payment

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Sliding scale payments are based on a client's income and family size. The goal is to make treatment affordable to everyone. By taking these factors into account, addiction recovery care providers help ensure that your treatment does not become a financial burden to you or your family, eliminating one barrier to care.

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
Detoxification is the first step toward a new life free from the bonds of addiction to drugs and alcohol. Inpatient detox programs provide monitored support by experienced and compassionate medical professionals at their Houston drug rehab center. Their trusted staff are trained to treat both men and women who need an around-the-clock monitoring to help address their addictions. You will find that the detoxification program at Brazos Place is a vital component to creating a safe withdrawal process.
inpatient iconInpatient
Their inpatient residential treatment program last from 30-60 days to provide a relaxed approach to overcoming drug and alcohol addiction for anyone looking for a rehab center near Houston. Their trained and certified staff provide structure and total-body support to help you learn to overcome dependency of drugs and alcohol.
24-hour icon24-Hour Clinical Care
At certain points in the recovery process, it's important to have support available 24/7. 24-hour clinical care offers a safe environment in which to recover from drug or alcohol addiction in peace, knowing medical detox and other treatment will happen with professionals on hand.
12-step icon12-Step
12-step programs are addiction recovery models based on Alcoholics Anonymous (AA). A number of substance abuse programs (including some drug and alcohol rehab centers) use the 12 steps as a basis for treatment. Beginning steps involve admitting powerlessness over the addiction and creating a spiritual basis for recovery. Middle steps including making direct amends to those who've been hurt by the addiction, and the final step is to assist others in addiction recovery in the same way. 12-Step offshoots including Narcotics Anonymous (NA), Cocaine Anonymous (CA), Dual Recovery Anonymous (DRA), Sex and Love Addicts Anonymous (SLAA) and Gamblers Anonymous (GA).
aftercare iconAftercare Support
Completing a drug or alcohol rehab program shouldn't spell the end of substance abuse treatment. Aftercare involves making a sustainable plan for recovery, including ongoing support. This can include sober living arrangements like halfway houses, career counseling, and setting a patient up with community programs like Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) or Narcotics Anonymous (NA).

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

During rehab in Texas, you'll deal with underlying issues that contribute to addiction. By addressing these challenges and learning healthy ways to cope with them, you'll develop strategies that help you live a drug-free lifestyle.

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

Clinical Services

Treatment that takes a dialectical behavior therapy approach focuses on four strategies. Distress tolerance will help you accept and tolerate intense emotions. Emotional regulation will teach you to manage those emotions. Mindfulness will keep you in the present moment instead of regret or worry. Interpersonal effectiveness will teach you to manage your relationships.

Couples therapy helps couples learn to control emotions, trust each other, and communicate more effectively. It can be useful for short term intervention for a specific issue or for working on the relationship long term.

When I came here I was at the end of my rope. All the staff and counselors attending to my needs and actually cared when I was feeling down. Upon completion of the program it restored my hope and self love. Which is something I never had before. So thank u so much and I love all the staff there.

It should be called trashiest place instead of Brazos place. My girl was there and was unable to speak with me due to this prepaid inmate phone service the make you use. Pretty sure they received a kick back from it. Anyway at the end of her stay my phone all of a sudden stopped being able to receive the calls. The woman working day shift on 5/16/2025 straight lied to me about getting her the to call me so that I could be sure me phone account was fixed. They shut off your contact with your loved ones after 4:30 pm and all weekend long. They get one star because this app won't let you post if you don't give them something!
