The ADA Women’s Center is a drug and alcohol rehab for women in Galveston, Texas. Called them when I hit rock bottom 📞. Didn’t expect much, but man... they picked up fast and talked to me like a person, not a screw-up . That first call kinda saved me, not even gonna lie. They helped me get into detox quick. It wasn’t easy, but they made sure I wasn’t alone. If you’re stuck and don’t know where to turn, just call. Seriously 💊.

GTX Detox was a total game-changer. Yeah, it wasn’t cheap — but honestly, it was worth every penny. From the first call, they made me feel like a priority, not just another name on a list. They handled everything smoothly, from detox to planning the next steps in recovery. What stood out was the quality — the staff, the support, even the environment felt top-tier. They knew exactly how to help me get through the worst and actually stay clean. If you’re serious about getting your life back and want the best, GTX delivers, no doubt.

I was sent here by Ben Taub hospital and these women saved my life. There is no other way to say it. They love and care for the women and show them the way back to themselves. Bay Area Women’s Recovery Center is straight-up the reason I’m alive today. This place didn’t just help me get clean — it rebuilt me. I walked in broken, lost, and tired. I walked out stronger, loved, supported, and finally believing in myself again. The staff here don’t just do their jobs — they pour their hearts into every woman who walks through the door. They gave me strength when I had none, love when I couldn’t love myself, and a community that still has my back long after treatment. If you’re looking for a place that actually cares, that fights for you, that reminds you who you really are — this is it. Bay Area Women’s Recovery Center saved my life, and I’ll forever be grateful.

I wasn't there for long, but I can see the good this place does for people. I left due to inner conflictions of faith, but that wouldn't be the case with the vast majority of people who come here. I would recommend to 99% of people who have addiction issues, as this place is a hidden haven for those who need it the most. I appreciated a lot of the staff. I went through the Bay Area Recovery Center, and it completely changed my life. After getting a DUI, I was required to go through this program to keep my job — but it turned out to be the best thing that ever happened to me. I’ve now been clean and sober for almost 10 months. The staff truly care and helped me believe in myself again. A huge thank you to Mr. Billy and Blake and everyone there for guiding me through my recovery. My DUI was recently dismissed, and I believe it’s because God saw the change in me. My wife and kids thank you too — you didn’t just help me, you helped restore my family. If you’re struggling, I highly recommend this program. It gave me my life back. F. Riley

I literally was just sitting down, minding my business, waiting on a friend to take care of his business, when a worker legitimately concerned, asked me if someone had already helped me. You get out what you put in. This place was literally life changing for me. Private rooms, you're assigned a team based on individual patients needs of a psychiatrist, individual therapist, and social worker, the grounds are gorgeous, the groups are run by people who are very good in their fields (like they have doctorates and some are even univeristy professors), the cafeteria does not suck and there are plenty of options (even multiple options for vegetarians and vegans), you can apply for different levels of responsibility (like how much trust staff can give you, you can get to the point where you can leave the unit alone and go for a walk), they give you an assigned private phone and MP3 player, the staff actually appears to enjoy their jobs, you are given resources for all of your needs. BUT you have to be willing to put in the work. They cant fix your problems for you. They cant make you contact your family, they cant make you take your medication, they cant make you go to group; you have to do that for yourself. It may be expensive, but you get your money's worth IF you put in the effort. But you have to want it. No one can do that part for you, but they will give you every resource they can, and will advocate for you tooth and nail with insurance. Of course theres other reviews of "this place is horrid" because its literally a psychiatric facility, not everyone there is going to have a good time. There was another Google review that made me consider and eventually pick this place as the place for me to get help that said "this place is actually ok." Its genuinely actually ok. If youre ready to change your life for the better and dedicate yourself to doing so, they will with open arms be ready to help you. Please consider this option. Compared to other places I have been inpatient, this has been the best mental health experience I've ever had. Genuinely.

Sorry doc I tried to remember how it was actually spelt and not the phenetic spelling) took a whole hour helping navigate the VA system to help me get to where I need to go, or so we can figure out what is going on. He listened to everything I had to say and the X-rays were done in office the same day. Yes the VA as a whole is broken, but my experience today was positive and we can't have nice things at this clinic specifically if we don't let it known that this staff is getting it done. Northshore Treatment Center is the ideal place when it comes to chemical/opiate dependency withdrawal services (short and long term), family counseling services, and probation/parole deference. Licensed chemical dependency staff with assess your specific needs and provide the range of services you require to lead a life free of the consequences of opiate dependency. This also requires you to work your program and be serious about your disposition, while possessing the will and drive to make things better for yourself. Located in a discreet professional building right off I-10 in the Northshore area, you can be sure that every prospective and tenured client alike will be treated in a compassionate manner, where privacy is the highest priority. There is ample space and seating for monthly meetings, and to wait if necessary. Plenty of parking is provided in the adjacent parking garage with a minimal walk to the building for senior patients whether you park on the first or second floor. The video provided shows the walk from parking to the elevator just for reference. The family involved in this clinic has been a staple in the Chemical Dependency realm within the great city of Houston for 30 years, they have the knowledge and passion for helping Houstonians that transcends what most sterile clinics dream of offering. Being a client of theirs is important to them and tenure means something, if you are tired of being just another number in an endless stream of carbon copy clinics or the anonymous heartless nature that some state run clinics tend to have then request a transfer today. The hours are 6am-9am and the staff is available to answer any questions you might have until just after noon, the receptionist is an extremely nice person and will be eager to help. The owner and counselors possess the same good energy and you will feel like you’re in good hands from the moment you complete intake. If you are doing any kind of guest services be responsible and call early. So if you are having trouble with the law and cannot seem to adhere, on the street chasing the beetle or the dark side of the foil, consider this your sign and call to something higher than just SURVIVING. Take the first step to a new life, brighter disposition, and say goodbye to the days of unwell and drag. The power is in your hands!

It was actually alright I guess. I think their goal is to stabilize you and get you discharged to outpatient care as quickly as possible., I was expected to take care of myself (I changed my own linens frequently, made my own bed, was expected to remember the clothes washing process, was not reminded for hygiene practices, had to speak up anytime when speaking to or making a request with a nurse or tech) which sucked considering I was not admitted with my medications in hand, which if I had those that wouldn't have been an issue. If you have the precious opportunity to prepare, bring all of your current medications with you. I didn't have my identification on me, they still took me in though, thank God. My family struggled to keep up with where they were taking me during processing and stuff since they couldn’t access very much information without my consent due to HIPAA protections, and I didn’t fully understand that at the time. I did consent though, it was just my first time being processed like that so I really didn't know what was going on or what was expected of me. The nurses and doctors I recall did explain as much as possible to me, but I did not ask probing questions about my treatment and mostly experienced it, my mom and dad knew how to ask probing questions regarding treatment whereas I did not. There's a significant difference in approach. Everyone was really nice though, I only ever experienced friction from the other patients (uncommon, but people are people), even then it was all okay, I trusted the staff to step in if it got too bad, plus there was the isolation room if I really didn't feel safe which I thankfully never had to use. Be kind to the staff handling you and you should be comfortable in knowing to expect that treatment back. Enrichment outside features: Basketball, a football (if it can be found), a very nice path to walk that totally isn't bait for runners (anyone who sees the corner will know what I mean, just don't do that though), and a gazebo that genuinely at the time of writing this needs wasp spray inside the top. It was a bit scary laying down in there and seeing all of the wasps. On days where outside enrichment is doubled, there is a secondary building where you can color pictures with marker, listen to music, play board and tabletop games, and a separate wing with a basketball court. The building was unfortunately extremely cold in the connecting hallway, but the enrichment chambers were warm enough. If you end up in HCPC and are lucky enough to have visiting family, ask for something warm to wear (within regulation of course). Enrichment inside is far more limited, again, if you have family, do request something for yourself. A book if you have the attention span to read. There is a TV that for half the day plays music, and from the afternoon-on plays movies and television shows. Don't be afraid to ask to change the channel, but consort with your fellow patients first was the rule of thumb. There's also UNO which was fun to play, dominoes, coloring sheets and crayons, three meals a day, and your bed. Seriously, don't underestimate the power of the bed. The food is pretty good, too. Except the cucumbers which I found icky but they can't seriously account for personal taste unless you have a food allergy or dietary restrictions. These aren't exactly therapeutic activities, but help you to bond with your ward-mates and pass the time. It is quite loud inside, but you can ask for earplugs at the front desk. Staff have to shut doors firmly (which may be percieved as "slamming" doors) to secure them which is disruptive. They don't tend to do this after curfew as far as I can remember, but it is worth noting in this review. I was extremely lucky to have family involved and the help of the social workers assigned to our wing that helped me make sense of everything. Shoutouts go for II-C, if you see this then you probably remember me still but you did amazing for working with pretty much nothing at all. Sincerely, thank you.

It was a wonderful hospital. It would be a shame to let that rich history die. I would love to see it turned into a .hostital museum telling of its history and the Doctors and nurses who worked and trained there.
