The odyssey home is where you come and get away from everything so you can better yourself. you may not like it all while your in there but deep down you know it’s doing you better mentally and physically and showing you how strong you can be when you finish the program all the staff are great people just have the same respect you would want towards you. Everyone isn’t gonna have a perfect day every single day but you gotta focus on why your there and what you need to do so you can go back home and spent time with your family cause when you in there you start thinking about all the stuff yoh missed out with your family and how much of a privilege it is to have your family around but you don’t notice that till your in there and see how much time you been playing with your life there is a privilege for you to become great within yourself you just have to put the work in and show your family that you can make a change for once in your life. I enrolled as a patient at New Dimensions with no prior experience with iop. I called all around Houston and I gave this center a chance because they were the first ones to pick up the phone with a sense of compassion in their voices. I am an adult in my late 20s with alcohol and substance abuse history and I have ptsd from past traumas in my life as well as severe manic depression. My life had gotten to a place of complete unmanageability. I was scared that my diseases would eventually cause my inevitable death and I did not know any of the tools I needed to be a healthy functioning adult. All of that slowly and subtly started to change and improve because of the professional guidance I received from ALL of my therapists and counselors there. I learned how to replace bad habits with healthy ones and I choose my well being over the things that I can't change on a daily basis, one day at a time. I will always feel a sense of gratitude to this facility.

Positive Recovery is a game changer. I've been on my own recovery road for years by myself but l've never been able to connect all the pieces to stay sober. PRC provided me with tools I could use on a day to day basis that help me through life's situations as they come. Glenn, one of the counselors at the Cinco Ranch location, is very insightful and actually in recovery himself. He could relate to what I've been through and what I go through daily. He taught me about what my brain is going through and actually backs it up with scientific studies and evidence. I am excited about my future today. Like I said PRC is a game changer.

I've been to a bunch of rehab centers over the years—some were decent, and others left a lot to be desired. When I first walked into Positive Recovery, I was expecting the same old, repetitive lessons I'd heard a million times before. Boy, was I in for a surprise! At the Cinco Ranch location, Glenn completely redefined my experience. His approach is genuinely refreshing—he creates a safe, welcoming space that makes you actually look forward to coming back.
I remember my first Monday group session; it was impressive to see a mix of people, including some who've been attending for months. One person even mentioned they drive over 40 miles just to be part of the group! Glenn’s unique style is not only engaging and fun, but it also provides practical, real-life insights that go far beyond just staying sober. His sessions taught me valuable lessons about life, renewing my passion and hope for the future.

I want to thank everyone that cared for me during my hospital stay. From ER to ICU the nurse Kyleigh and Cathrine gave 110%, they are true nurses and I thank God for them, along with the 5th floor staff who was very caring. I want to send special recognition to Oakbend Cardiaologist, Dr. Malik, he is the one that notice something was wrong. He insisted that I needed to go to ER. He got a wheelchair and took me to ER and made sure I got in the room and spoke with the ER Dr. and let him know what he had notice with me. He went above and beyond what others would have expected him to do. I thank God for sending Dr. Malik my way that day. I know I have said it so many time. But I'll say it again I thank God for Dr. Malik.

This place was truly a life saver!! They stopped what they were doing twice within 3 weeks to come rescue me from myself over an hour and a half away. The staff is amazing and really care about your state of well-being. They don't care if you like them, they care if you live and that's the most comforting thing about this place. My dad has struggled with drug addiction for 25+ years. He recently had a massive heart attack due to drug use and his situation was becoming dire. We knew if he didn't get help he wasn't going to make it much longer. He finally agreed to get treatment and my sister found this place. He went from not wanting to go to rehab to not wanting to leave this place. He absolutely loved it and loves everyone there. He considers them family. He completed his treatment and the staff is still there to offer him support and help him succeed. Andy has been amazing at helping him find out patient programs. They truly care here. They deserve more than 5 stars.

The love each of these people have for the patients and care its unexplainable. coming from using hard drugs and not having a sense of care for myself and to walk thru these doors and the arms are open to love you till you can love yourself is amazing, me going back out and relapsing and scared to come back but when I thought about the staff and how much love the gave me I was ready to walk back in the doors and now I feel so much stronger because how much they have put so much love in me again. I'm forever grateful for this place and I always tell others who suffer from addiction that this is where I found myself again, and many found the same from their experience also. A few months ago I went into Anaphylactic shock; we rushed to this hospital and man! From the front desk clerk to the doctor himself- the entire staff were quick, professional and overall just awesome! They calmed me down, helped me right away and were overall just nice. I went in to give blood prior to my appointment and was in and out rather quickly. Went in a week later for my afternoon Doctor appointment and was in and out within an hour. Dr Chandy was very thorough and friendy, as was the staff. I was quite surprised given the 3.5 reviews I read previous to my appointment, however, I don't like to assume anything without experiencing it for myself. The only thing I didn't like was waiting over a month for my appointment, but to be fair, I've also had very long wait times in the private sector, some close to two months.

Dr. Kaminar is incredible! I’ve been seeing him for almost 2 years and he is consistently helpful. As a woman with mental illness, I’ve had doctors constantly dismiss my symptoms and concerns. This has never been the case with Dr. Kaminar. He is so supportive and validates my concerns. Even with the smallest shifts of my health, he is ready to listen and find a solution that works best for me.

I was a patient here and was treated fairly good, there really isn’t much communication with the psychiatrist to the therapist to you about discharge dates, or more information about your treatment plan but the therapist make up for it. I was blessed to have Mr. Z and Ms. Samurah as my therapists and can not emphasize enough!! To give them full credit of my mental health improvement. With them I have truly progressed so much and got the right therapy for me. Being able to talk to them and getting the right support from them has made me able to be more adaptable, find the right coping mechanisms for me, and accept my struggle and truly learn from this and grow as a person. Thank you to them! There are no complaints in that department. I hope they see this and continue to help other people and empower them just like they did for me. Thank you thank you thank you. Although one complaint is the lack of communication given to you about your schooling. I got super behind and just wish that my assignments could have been either
1. Sent directly to me or 2. Once I returned to school, given extra time to complete everything that I missed out on. I really had to vouch for myself when I got back to school to be given time to turn in everything without late points. In general not too bad of a place coming from a patient that had my stay.

Fulshear saved my life—twice.
I first went to Fulshear in 2021 after moving to Texas. I gained the tools I needed to manage my mental health and really found healing there. One of the most impactful parts of my experience was equine therapy. I was a barn manager and caring for the horses gave me a deep sense of purpose. I also made connections that I still carry with me today.
In 2024, I returned to Fulshear when I was struggling with substance use. I knew it was the place I needed to go, and once again, it changed my life. My therapist, Courtney Deadman, is the best therapist I have ever worked with. She’s inclusive, compassionate, and truly gifted at what she does. The family work we did together completely transformed my relationship with my parents—I’ve never communicated with them so well. Courtney held my light when I couldn’t, and now I can hold it proudly on my own.
The rest of the clinical team—especially Micah and Injila—also made a huge impact. They led powerful groups and always made me feel seen and supported. The entire staff is truly exceptional.
I also want to shout out the admissions team—Helaine is my hero. She supported me with so much care and compassion, and even checked in on me after I left treatment. She and her daughter Della are an amazing team and two of the most genuine, kindhearted people I’ve ever met. I’m beyond grateful for them.
If you’re looking for a place that can truly help you heal, grow, and take back your life, I cannot recommend OPI Houston enough!!! Best of luck on your journey!

I came into the ranch broken lost and hurting. I had a lot of trauma from my childhood and my young adulthood that I never processed. As a result I was struggling with addiction, depression anxiety, you name it. Before the ranch I was use to abusive relationships, codependency, homelessness and isolation. I spent 3 months on the ranch and completely transformed my life. It was a lot of hard work. And I honestly wanted to change my life. I knew I was not living the life I was meant to live. I have nothing but good things to say about Fulshear. The staff is amazing and I believe in the program. Since Fulshear I am now 10 months sober. I live in a safe home and I'm able to have healthy relationships. I am back to working and even won employee of the month. I still continue with working with a therapist, which I will probably always continue to do in my life. It's a life long journey. But I was able to start and gain tools to start my healing and new life. This is one of the most incredible, inclusive, and inspiring facilities I have ever had the pleasure of attending. The staff members are some of the most compassionate and intelligent people to walk the earth. From the dietitians to the therapists, from the techs to the facilitators, everyone there is so educated and beyond qualified for their position. Mental health is serious, no matter what type of facility they all have bad and good. Very hard on the family going through psychosis with their loved one. You have no rights and can't help without the correct paper work. Julio was very pleasant, understanding, and as helpful as he could be without jeopardizing HIPPA.

I own a group home called Blessed Comfort Home and this has afforded me the opportunity of being in that hospital several times in many years, the staff are so friendly and helpful especially the receptionist called Julio who welcomes you with great smile and concern, then Nurse Thelma who calls to make you feel relaxed and relieved with the update of your person that is their patient, she is so professional and caring.
I recommend this hospital for anyone that needs a good psychiatrist treatment.

I bought my brother to this facility and as soon as we walked in we were greeted by the nicest receptionist Sheila at the front desk. Sheila was very attentive and helpful in answering all the questions I had. She was very comforting while still greeting visitors that walked in the facility. Very professional and should be commended. We need more empathetic, compassionate, and caring people like her.

This is my first time visiting this VA clinic, I am transferring from McAllen VA. I didn't have to wait very long at reception and the representatives were polite, helpful and respectful. I required an appointment and I was told it might take a week to schedule. The very next day I was called to schedule so no issues on that. I am currently in the waiting room for a walk in as I can not wait for three weeks to address an ear infection. So far this facility does not reflect all the negative reviews that I read on the website. If this changes I will revisit this review. I will say though. Parking was great, lots of handicap spaces.

Wonderful experience with my daughter. Bianca is the sweetest. It shows that she truly cares. My daughter is temperamental and gets cranky and scared with new people but Bianca handled her so calmly that my daughter enjoyed her sessions.
It is a blessing to find a therapist who treats patients like that.
