Medmark Treatment Center is an absolute wonderful place for addiction recovery! All the staff are extremely supportive & very genuinely want every person who walks through their doors to walk out their doors with a positive experience living in your brand new sober life. They have access to so many different places to help with any type of aid one might have such as homelessness, paying bills, anything life throws at you! They help not because it's their job...they very genuinely care about people & they want "their" people to live a sober, happy, positive new life always knowing that they will always be there for you should you wake up one morning & find life has gone south. Once enrolled in the outpatient treatment there, you are assigned a counselor that is available to you for any reason every day with Sundays being the exception! I have found that a lot of people really don't have a very positive attitude towards Methadone treatment, & I believe that it is because they don't understand it & it's role in your recovery. I know when I initially signed up, I didn't know or even realize all the pros of using Methadone would bring me. In fact, I only knew one thing & that was that the Methadone would prevent me from having to endure the torment of going through withdrawals from my body physically needing the heroin. Anyone who has ever been "Dope sick" from heroin will quickly tell you what a living hell it can be, in fact there are some people who have actually lost their lives not from using heroin but from going through withdrawals from not having it. I had attempted many different times to relieve myself from the dangerous drug & the "Drug Life" only to repeatedly fail for one reason or another...most of which was the cravings I would have to do the drug even though I was sick to death of that lifestyle mistake due to looking for something that would numb me & my emotions after being physically & sexually assaulted back in 2012. I learned that the Methadone actually prevents those cravings, which is why Medmark Treatment Center was my saving grace & the reason I successfully after two & a half years was finally comfortable enough to leave from there completing their program successfully & have now been free of "Satan's Drug" for almost 4 years now! (2025) I do not ever want to live that lifestyle ever again, it was a whole nightmare within itself & my life was completely chaotic & stressful during the years that I was in my addiction. Should you or someone you love & care about or even someone you may not know well yet...find them stuck in an addiction PLEASE be kind enough to introduce them to the help that Medmark offers. I, myself...have told numerous people about it some who went & others who didn't...but I physically took seven different addicts there & introduced them to recovery through Methadone or Suboxen at Medmark. All seven of them enrolled into the program. After a bit of time, two of them stopped going for reasons of their own...but the other five are living their new lives sober, happy and thriving. You can contact either the primary Medmark Center at the 1-800 number or you may contact the local Medmark Center located on Washington Avenue here in Waco, Texas USA at the local number. Simply Google Medmark Treatment Center near me! I wish each & every one of you the sober life we all deserve & are meant to live. Life is already difficult, more so for some than for others...if you've ever wondered what "Hell" is like... it's like living in this already difficult world, while having an addiction! It's a very deep, dark, lonely, extremely scarry place for anyone to be in, especially alone due to your friends & family abandoning you because they find out you are an addict. Please let them know that you love & care for them & introduce them to Medmark. You will most likely be saving their life. Noone has to go it alone as long as Medmark is here. You can expect to find a non-judgmental staff, who are all on your side to help when & where they are needed. At Medmark "YOU CAN & WILL RECOVER"!

| The Waco Center for Youth is a long standing residential behavioral health center for teenagers in Waco, Texas. In fact, it has been serving teens since as far back as 1979 and continues to do so today. This state operated facility is for kids ages 13 to 17 who have behavioral health struggles like co-occurring addictions and mental illnesses. Note | Treatments Programs Payment Options | I was a patient here twice the most recent being 3/2021-9/2021. I was sent because I ran out of options. I didn’t want to listen to anyone and I thought I knew what was best for me. I hated the idea of having to go. At first, I thought it was the worst place ever. Then I decided to open up and really work the program. It is a very therapeutic place. Yes there’s drama and there’s some issues with staff but as long as you do what you’re supposed to do it’s a great place to get help. I would recommend wcy to anyone parent dealing with a child who has behavioral or mental health issues. It was the best thing that could’ve happened to me.

Loki, idk why you guys make it so bad. When I was there, I got the help and meds I needed. And you really don’t know who you’ll meet when you go in there. Most of the kids were kinda annoying, but some of them were chill. But eves so, all the kids that were in there were broken in some sorta way, and Cedar is where God touches them. But he can’t touch you and change your wat of thinking if you don’t let him. Just like the person I would kinda just stick to, she couldn’t change me if I didn’t let her. And before I met her I was broken in my own way. My dad was giving me to the state, my friendships were broken, I felt like I couldn’t trust nobody. But the person I met, I opened up to her within the first two days of being there, and she has stood by my side even after I had got out and was in a whole different messed up situation. And I really don’t know how to explain it but something broke in me and something changed, and I felt like I had people I could trust. I felt safe and secure and supported. The staff there were very kind, funny, and supported. They would go out there way to make sure the kids needs were met. Mrs. Tyson and Mrs. Jessica were very supportive, and gave ma advice that would of led me into a WAY much wiser path if I would of listened and got clean. And that’s also kinda of what that one friend would tell me too lol. And yes, when I first got out things were good until they started to go downfall. But even though most of the stuff I couldn’t control, I could of stayed clean and would of saved me some brain cells, bc, I would of prolly went down the right path instead of just staying at any house I could get at. But every time I felt low, I just thought of Cedar, and how I felt understood, and that deep feeling of being alone was barley even there unless I was actually alone in a room lol. And yes, we all wanted the freedom we had in the free world, but we had each other and I’m so grateful for the memories I got, and the only part of my stay that I had actually cried was when my friend got let out and I was js stuck there. But even though, It was still a beautiful opportunity to have the chance to meet new people, and to help other kids with their situations, and encourage them, and give them advice, but also get advice, and encouraged for my situation. I enjoy the memories I have in Cedar, and I would like to give my thanks to my friend, Mrs. Tyson, and Mrs. Jessica \, and most importantly God. Because it wasn’t no coincidence I ended up there, It was intentional, because I was supposed to go to a WHOLE different hospital but they changed it at last minute. Now thanks to Cedar, I made up for my freshmen year, and now I made it into my sophomore year, I’m still in DAEP but my time got lessened. I fixed my friendships with my home friends, and me and my dad are now civil again. I’m focused on my music career, and getting a job, and graduating. My dad is now working on getting a new girlfriend. My advice to anyone who is looking into going to cedar is just be yourself, open up to people around you that want to help. And be honest about your age lol. And don’t go on trying to get into a relationship because it will always fail lol. I tried so hard.

The staff named Ms.Tyson from the hospital unit was amazing to me. Provided all the kids with lots of love and care. Some kids were religious so she would go out of her way to make sure they felt safe and had their religious needs meet. Ms.Tyson cares deeply about the kids that go in and out of the unit, she loved hanging out with the kids and made me feel like I had someone by my side when my whole life seemed to be going down in flames. Waco is the 188th most expensive city nationwide for addiction treatment affordability, with an average cost of addiction treatment of $56008. This is comparable to the average cost of $56623 for addiction treatment in Texas and comparable to the national average cost for drug rehab of $57,193.
The costs of drug and alcohol rehab in Waco vary widely and depend on several factors, including:
The costs of addiction treatment listed for cities and states are averages based on the cost of medical detox, inpatient rehab, outpatient rehab, and medication assisted treatment. These averages are high due to the cost of medical detoxification and residential inpatient rehab programs.
These numbers also reflect the raw cost of drug rehab, before any insurance coverage. The typical individual seeking addiction treatment can expect to pay much less for outpatient or intensive outpatient services than the averages listed below. There are many ways to pay for drug rehab in Waco. Most rehab treatment centers accept cash or self-payment, as well as private health insurance. However, there are many treatment centers in Waco that accept Medicaid and Medicare, or offer sliding scale payments or other low-cost payment options. Here's the complete breakdown of how to pay for addiction treatment near Waco.
Aetna is the most widely-accepted insurance for drug rehabs in Waco, with 3 treatment centers in the city accepting their insurance. Blue Cross Blue Shield is the 2nd most popular with 3 treatment centers accepting it followed by Cigna in 3rd accepted by 3 drug rehabs.
Waco has the 201st highest rate of drug use nationwide among nearly 400 cities surveyed. This number reflects the combined use of cocaine, heroin, meth, and marijuana, displayed individually below. The percent shown for each drug represents the number of residents in McLennan county that have reported ever using the following drugs, so these numbers should not be interpreted as direct evidence of current drug use in Waco or McLennan county as a whole.
In 2023, Waco had the 106th highest number narcotics violations out of 330 cities nationwide, with a total of 664 reported drug-related incidents that year. This includes cases of public intoxication, drug arrests, narcotics found during house calls and traffic stops, and any other drug-related crime.
Keep in mind these numbers are dependent on accurate record keeping and reporting laws by local police and sheriffs, and may not fully reflect all drug related crime in Waco. All values are per 100,000 population.
