Scott McGarrahan, a former NFL player, founded Resolution Ranch Academy, a 500 acre horse ranch and therapeutic boarding school for troubled boys aged 13 to 17. It’s located just over an hour from Austin in Cameron, Texas, a small town of around 5,000 people, known for its well-preserved historic homes and buildings. The facility provides a struc
Sending our son to Resolution Ranch was really hard, but it was absolutely the right decision. We were struggling, and he was struggling. He finally found the support and understanding he needed. The therapists and staff truly cared about him as an individual. We saw him grow in confidence and self-awareness during his time there. It wasn't easy, but Resolution Ranch gave him and our family a second chance. We are forever grateful. A special thank you to Scott for creating a special place.

As a former student at Resolution Ranch Academy I honestly can't say enough good things about this place, I was sent here early December 2023 by my parents to be given a chance to turn my life around/to abandon the negative lifestyle that I was living. Before attending the ranch I was on a daily basis using drugs, skipping school, and disregarding authority all together. I won't lie and say this place was easy or that all my problems in life are gone because of my time at the ranch, but I will say if you are truly able to help your kid understand that change needs to happen and that the way he is living currently isn't working and that this place isn't a punishment, you can expect positive change. The staff there do truly care and want to see the best for you many of whom I still keep in contact with after graduating recently January of this year. The therapists there are also really empathetic most especially the one who I was assigned with, Mr. Clayton. He would consistently go out of his way to check in with his other students not because he was required to but because he cared, I can remember the countless times where it would be hours past his shift and he would still be there talking and processing with me to help me deal with my emotions and problems that I was struggling with. Thanks to the ranch I was able to excel at school and was able to turn my thoughts of wanting to dropout into now pursuing my education even further. The teachers there are super supportive and are willing to help you any chance they can and because of this I was able to go into the ranch mid way through my sophomore year of high school and come out a year later a high school graduate. As I mentioned before, yes this place can be difficult however anything worth doing WILL take time and on top of that your effort into whatever it is you are working on. If you choose to go in with a bad mindset chances are not much will change, but if you truly dedicate yourself to change I can promise you that you will be rewarded for your hard work. Lastly, I'd like to thank the ranch once again for all that they have done and the opportunities that they provided for me to be able to succeed in life in a way that I was unsure on how to do before.

Sending our son to Resolution Ranch was a tough decision, but it ended up being the best one we could have made. Struggling with behavioral issues, we felt lost. Resolution Ranch's compassionate staff provided exceptional, individualized care including excellent therapy. The therapists are skilled, family therapy was invaluable, the teachers are invested and the supportive community fostered growth in our son. Our child returned home transformed, with improved self-awareness and coping skills. Even typing this out gives me great joy to see how much better he has been.Needless to say we're deeply grateful and highly recommend Resolution Ranch Academy!!!

If it wasn't for this amazing program and facility I wouldn't be here today. It's been almost two years since I first walked through the doors of BRC. I would first and foremost like to say that if it wasn't for the staff for taking genuine interest and concern for my overall being and seeing past my physical appearance that I was struggling with something much deeper than I wouldn't have stayed. I see some negative comments and believe me I had some when I first got to Austin, TX. But, sitting here clean and sober almost 2 years later I will admit that if it wasn't for this knowledge that was given to me by this program, I probably wouldn't be who I am today. I've come to my own realization that your addiction will convince your brain of anything to keep you living in the darkness. It will tell you that you aren't and addict or that because you look different that you aren't an addict. I'm currently still working on underlying problems that led me down the road of addiction and using them to help build my strength to continue this journey of recovery. If it wasn't for BRC I would still be a lost 29-year-old mother of 6 beautiful children and I wouldn't know that a healthy relationship looks like or that firm boundaries with unhealthy people are okay. I walk in a new light thanks to this place and the people that make this program possible. One day my children will also thank them for giving them their mom back! No words can ever express the gratitude that I have for BRC. Please have an open mind when going into this program because I promise it will all be worth it. The program is strict but our addiction are even darker.

I came to Burning Tree Lodge as a broken man with a broken spirit. Attended the 2-day Family Workshop with my husband to support our son and we found the experience to be very helpful and useful. I would encourage any family in ours or a similar situation with The Arbor to strongly consider attending. The information they provide is truthful, factual and presented with kindness and compassion. All the speakers were knowledgeable and willing to openly share their personal experiences with addiction and recovery, which was relatable to our family, and likely to many others as well. I want to thank the staff at The Arbor for their overwhelming support during a trying time. We are very grateful.

I’ve been to treatment centers all over the country, and I can honestly say there was something different about The Arbor. From the moment I arrived, the level of care, accountability, and genuine support was unlike anything I had experienced before. The staff doesn’t just treat addiction. They care deeply about the individual person sitting in front of them. Every member of my care team took the time to understand me, challenge me, support me, and walk with me through the process of rebuilding my life. There’s an ethos at The Arbor that’s hard to describe unless you’ve experienced it yourself. It’s a balance of accountability and compassion that changed me completely. What stood out most to me was how holistic the program is. They truly focus on healing the whole person emotionally, mentally, spiritually, physically, socially, and environmentally. I’ve been through many different types of treatment, but this was the first place where I learned how to actually live in recovery, not just survive sobriety. Their continuum of care, from treatment to aftercare to sober living, gave me the structure and support I needed to build a real foundation. I came to The Arbor desperate, exhausted, and dying. Today, I am a woman in recovery who is genuinely proud of who she is and committed to giving back what was given to me there. I treasure my experience at The Arbor and am deeply grateful to be part of their alumni community. I truly could not recommend a treatment center more highly.

Rock Springs is a mental health and addiction treatment center in Georgetown, Texas. They offer mental health services and substance use treatment for adults as well as mental health programs for children and teens. They provide inpatient and outpatient programming for adolescents and adults who are dealing with mental health and addiction disorder
After losing my son last year, Mother’s Day was incredibly difficult for me, and I ended up in the Sunrise Unit at Rock Springs. I cannot say enough good things about the staff there and the care I received. Annette is legitimately one of the most knowledgeable therapists I’ve ever met — you can mention almost any book or therapeutic concept, and she’s already read it and can discuss it thoughtfully. I learned so many skills from Annette’s groups. She is also deeply empathetic. Aaron, one of the nurses, has such a huge heart and genuinely cares about the patients. Jaimee, a behavioral tech, sat with me, held my hand, and hugged me while I talked about the loss of my son, a moment of kindness I will never forget. Maureen was always positive, attentive, and constantly checking in on everyone to make sure we were okay. I also really loved the yoga session with Jacob; it was one of my favorite parts of the program. I was specifically on the Sunrise Unit, so I can only speak to that experience, but they truly seem to have figured out how to create a compassionate and supportive environment. Most importantly, I felt heard. My treatment team listened to me, treated me like a person, and helped me through one of the hardest moments of my life. This is definitely where I would go if I was ever in crisis again.

I was in the Sunrise unit. The best unit in the hospital in my opinion. I want to thank the entire staff, especially Mrs Gertrude, Ms Sabreelyn, Mrs Yemi, Mrs Nikki, Mr Aaron, Mr Carrey, Mrs Sabrina, Ms Jamie, Christopher, Mrs India, Mrs Natasha and various other nurses, doctors and therapist that helped me along the way and set a path for me to continue on my journey. I met many wonderful women from all walks of life that made me feel seen and heard. My stay was the perfect. If you're in need of a reset or you need detox, this is the place to go and get just that. They also provide continued help when you're out.The food was okay. I knew it would be bland due to others dietary needs but a little salt, pepper and franks goes a long way, lol. I can't thank everyone enough.

I can say Tara specifically was extremely supportive!! She works as one of the clinical staff I believe, her encouragement and support were everything! She provided resources, and told me to keep advocating for my son when he really needed help! The reality most don't understand is, these places aren't supposed to be a 5star resort they are designed to help provide structure, stability and safety. I am absolutely for getting these kids help with substance and mental, and I believe they need structure and accountability. Plus they must desire the full change and work it takes!! It would serve more veterans if when there was an appointment to building 163, that there be the automatic question- Is this your first visit? If the answer is yes, there should be an automatic question- Would you like a map of the campus leading to building 163?

How would much rather go to the VA clinic here than to the hospital. The staff is very quick and courteous to veterans.

Nice new building but about the same service you'd expect from the VA. Lab is in the building, but closed at 1400 on the Friday I was there, which could have been due to Easter holiday.

I went for the detox and the nurses were all so kind. The nurse Caroline even would do fun stuff with me and play games with me because I was bored haha. The food was interesting since it seemed multiple staff cooked on certain days. But for the most part it was amazing food. They really cared and it was a fun experience despite the reason I was there.

I have to say DePaul is a wonderful place. I have great respect for all the workers there. They are very caring and make the patient feel very special. I know all patients are different. But this is the best place in Waco. And the Dr's are amazing. I would give them 100 stars if I could . They are hard working people. Love to all of DePaul. Lupe and Joseph Pena.

Obviously not using my real name but I spent around 5 years at Cedar Crest when I was a teenager. I was released from Cedar Crest in 2007 at age 17. Yeah, it's been a while. But while I was there, it was the first place I'd been to that truly helped me when I'd been to a lot of other places before Cedar Crest. The staff were caring and yeah a little rough around the edges and stern when the had to be but no staff member was abusive while I was there. I wasn't the easy going one either. I caused a lot of problems since I didn't know how to cope with my trauma. I'm a little ashamed to publicly admit that but it is what it is and at the time, it made me feel like I was in control of me. I fought against it for a long time at first. Two or three years honestly. I didn't want the therapy. I didn't want to let go of the trauma because it's all I knew. But a little after I turned 15 I started working the program and really wanting to be better, it was like my entire world shifted. I changed for the better. A lot of what I was taught and the experiences I made with the staff who were working there has stuck with me even now. I don't know what Cedar Crest is like anymore since I'm sure the staff aren't the same but I know being sent to Cedar Crest was the best decision made for me since it helped me become who I am today.

I was a client back in 2015 at Christian Farms. My experience there was life changing and life transforming. I've used methaphine hardcore for 18 years. I've found the staff to be friendly but firm. The consular I had the feeling that they geniually cared, and it was more then just a job to them they really wanted to help. The environment there was clean, friendly, firm, not strict, & extremely fair. I found Christian farms to be so pleasent and informative to me that I requested to stay an additional 30 days from my original release date. If you really want help & are serious about getting help with your addiction I highly recommend Christian Farms. Today I can say I've been clean for over a year & a half due to largely impart of Christian Farms. I STILL STAND BY THIS STATEMENT - The grammar errors. My recovery journey started here in the summer of 2002. I stayed 91 days. Reading, writing & listening. I'm almost three and a half years sober now. This place wasn't the cure for my addictions, because there is no cure, but it was the place that allowed me to learn how to start building a solid foundation for soberity. The work continues. When the student is ready the teacher will come. Thank you CFT.
