Obviously not using my real name but I spent around 5 years at Cedar Crest when I was a teenager. I was released from Cedar Crest in 2007 at age 17. Yeah, it's been a while. But while I was there, it was the first place I'd been to that truly helped me when I'd been to a lot of other places before Cedar Crest. The staff were caring and yeah a little rough around the edges and stern when the had to be but no staff member was abusive while I was there. I wasn't the easy going one either. I caused a lot of problems since I didn't know how to cope with my trauma. I'm a little ashamed to publicly admit that but it is what it is and at the time, it made me feel like I was in control of me. I fought against it for a long time at first. Two or three years honestly. I didn't want the therapy. I didn't want to let go of the trauma because it's all I knew. But a little after I turned 15 I started working the program and really wanting to be better, it was like my entire world shifted. I changed for the better. A lot of what I was taught and the experiences I made with the staff who were working there has stuck with me even now. I don't know what Cedar Crest is like anymore since I'm sure the staff aren't the same but I know being sent to Cedar Crest was the best decision made for me since it helped me become who I am today.

Great facility that handles patient’s with all kinds of mental health. The staff are very passionate about the work they do and very caring. I have seen patient’s that other facilities could not manage receive care at Cedar crest and did well. The entire team have excellent collabration skills to provide the best care. This facility cares so much about their staff too and provide opportunity for staff growth.

I was a client back in 2015 at Christian Farms. My experience there was life changing and life transforming. I've used methaphine hardcore for 18 years. I've found the staff to be friendly but firm. The consular I had the feeling that they geniually cared, and it was more then just a job to them they really wanted to help. The environment there was clean, friendly, firm, not strict, & extremely fair. I found Christian farms to be so pleasent and informative to me that I requested to stay an additional 30 days from my original release date. If you really want help & are serious about getting help with your addiction I highly recommend Christian Farms. Today I can say I've been clean for over a year & a half due to largely impart of Christian Farms. I STILL STAND BY THIS STATEMENT - The grammar errors. This place wasn't the cure for my addictions, because there is no cure, but it was the place that allowed me to learn how to start building a solid foundation for soberity. The work continues. I just did the 33 day program here and the staff was phenomenal! The therapists and case managers were on top of everything and made my recovery process so much easier. They were there for me from beginning to end. The nursing staff was on top of my meds and I never had any issues. Thank you Virtue for helping me grow and become the woman I am today. I couldn’t have done it without you! I have learned so much about myself and the disease I have to live with. You’ve given me the tools I need to help keep the disease at bay. Although it was hard for me to be away from my family, I would do it again because I am stronger now. The facility was nice and the food was amazing! Anything that I couldn’t eat because of diet, they always had something I could eat and made it for me! I spent six weeks at this facility, and I can honestly say it was one of the most important and helpful experiences I’ve ever had for my mental health. From the very first day, I felt welcomed and supported. The environment itself is comfortable and structured. There are FREE snacks available, calm spaces, and a sense of safety that allows you to focus on healing. The program is thoughtfully designed. There are group mental health classes and process group that give you practical tools and techniques to deal with trauma and everyday struggles. On top of that, you get individual weekly individual therapy sessions and weekly meetings with a psychiatrist, so your care feels very personalized. The group therapies were especially meaningful for me — they don’t just teach coping skills, they also help patients support one another, creating a space where you don’t feel alone in your journey. What made the biggest difference for me were the people. Ms. Serenity and Ms. Kamiya are incredible therapists who bring warmth, patience, and real insight into every session. Nurse Amy is kind and attentive, always making sure patients are cared for. If you need laughter and giggle therapy, she is the one for it! Therapist Mark from San Antonio added a perspective and level of support that I’ll carry with me long after leaving. Each of them played a role in helping me feel understood and encouraged to grow. Also, Jesse from the STS program in San Antonio was very helpful in taking our minds off everything (wish that could happen more). And although I didn't get much time with her, Ms. Vanessa from San Antio was also very kind and professional. This program is especially valuable for active duty military members, who make up most of the patient community. Having others around me who understood the unique challenges that come with military life made the experience even more impactful. There’s a strong sense of connection and understanding that you just don’t find everywhere. One additional thought I had during my time here is how much music therapy and art therapy classes could further benefit this group. Many patients come from high-stress backgrounds where words don’t always feel like enough to process deep emotions. Creative outlets like music and art would provide new ways to express feelings, release tension, and build confidence. They could also encourage teamwork and bonding in ways that complement the existing therapies, giving patients even more tools to heal and grow. After six weeks, I left Laurel Ridge with new tools, stronger confidence, Lower Anxiety, and a deeper sense of hope. I would absolutely recommend this facility to anyone looking for real healing, structure, and support. The staff and program truly go above and beyond to help you break out of trauma bubbles and move forward.

I came here barely alive, hopelessly alcoholic after years of heavy daily drinking. Going on 15 months sober. I wouldnt be here if it wasn't for them. I thought I'd need a 30-day program after, but i felt so much better by day 5 that I resolved to not drink again, and still havent. They have the drug cocktail down to a science, I barely felt any serious withdrawls. The nurses are very attentive albeit DMV-ish at times, which is a good thing in that context. The staff is very kind and caring, experienced and understanding. No nurse ratchet here. You will be frustrated by some of their institutional policies, but they do a good job explaining why those policies are in place without being overbearing or condescending. The reasons I gave it 4 stars, not 5. This is not an indictment but constructive criticism, and a warning about what to expect if these issues matter to you: The food seems to be mostly cooked off site and reheated. It's stale institutional slop, with processed food snacks left out. Nothing on the menu is fresh or natural. I had some food sensitivites and they had trouble wrapping their heads around it. I ended up mostly eating fruit cups and bagels with cream cheese. You cannot order food in. This policy is in place because people will try to sneak things in and this facility does take on patients who are there against their wishes via parents, employment deal, or court order. If you're running a detox, you may want to consider serving healthier food? Fresh fruit instead of canned? some high fiber grains? real meat, not frozen food? I brought this up. Hopefully they fixed it. There wasn't much to do there. They had a room full of movie theater seats with a flatscreen, a broken guitar, some supermarket books, AA stuff, and a set of chairs outside. Mostly you sit around and talk, watch tv, or sleep. It's a small property but you can walk laps. There's no counseling at the detox. Some AA volunteer groups shows up once in a while to talk. It may be helpful for some. There should be an on site counselor that does that job full time. Everyone else has their own specific job and sitting down and talking to people 1 on 1 didnt seem to be part of the description. They seem to be focused entirely on the medical detox aspect of the process. If you need rehab, you do that after, or find a rehab that does detox on site.

I went to Cenikor 5/6/21 and have been sober ever since. I am so grateful for this place and the experience. There was one counselor specifically who helped me with my childhood trauma and I still carry what she would say to me to this day. The people who work there all have experience and genuinely care about you. I am so grateful for Cenikor foundation. Sierra I met five years ago and she was my sober house manager for two houses and now my best friend, she is truly a woman who cares and understands. Attended the 2-day Family Workshop with my husband to support our son and we found the experience to be very helpful and useful. I would encourage any family in ours or a similar situation with The Arbor to strongly consider attending. The information they provide is truthful, factual and presented with kindness and compassion. I’ve been to treatment centers all over the country, and I can honestly say there was something different about The Arbor. From the moment I arrived, the level of care, accountability, and genuine support was unlike anything I had experienced before. The staff doesn’t just treat addiction. They care deeply about the individual person sitting in front of them. Every member of my care team took the time to understand me, challenge me, support me, and walk with me through the process of rebuilding my life. There’s an ethos at The Arbor that’s hard to describe unless you’ve experienced it yourself. It’s a balance of accountability and compassion that changed me completely. What stood out most to me was how holistic the program is. They truly focus on healing the whole person emotionally, mentally, spiritually, physically, socially, and environmentally. I’ve been through many different types of treatment, but this was the first place where I learned how to actually live in recovery, not just survive sobriety. Their continuum of care, from treatment to aftercare to sober living, gave me the structure and support I needed to build a real foundation. I came to The Arbor desperate, exhausted, and dying. Today, I am a woman in recovery who is genuinely proud of who she is and committed to giving back what was given to me there. I treasure my experience at The Arbor and am deeply grateful to be part of their alumni community. I truly could not recommend a treatment center more highly.
