I came in completely broken and out of options, and from the moment I arrived, the staff met me with compassion, honesty, and the structure I desperately needed. This was the first place where I felt truly seen—not just as someone struggling with addiction, but as a human being who deserved healing and hope.
The Arbor gave me the gift of desperation that turned into the gift of freedom. I left with tools, confidence, and a sense of purpose I didn’t think I’d ever feel again. If you are struggling—or if you love someone who is—this is where you want to be. I am living proof that recovery is possible, and The Arbor is the reason I’m sober today.
Thank you, Arbor family. I owe you everything.

I meant to share this sooner, but life after treatment got busy fast. Looking back now, I’m beyond grateful for my time at The Arbor because it gave me the tools, structure, and support I needed to step back into life with confidence.
Reaching out for help wasn’t easy. I felt ashamed for losing the sobriety I had worked hard for, and I didn’t want to admit I needed treatment again. But reaching out to The Arbor was truly the best decision I made for myself. Taylor Anne Ramsey was the first person I connected with, and she met me with nothing but compassion. She never judged me—she just wanted to help. From there, she connected me with Tiffany Tidwell, who immediately made me feel safe and reassured that I was in good hands. That was the moment I knew The Arbor’s treatment would live up to the warmth and energy both Taylor Anne and Tiffany showed me.
Within days of arriving, the staff went above and beyond to make me feel welcome—it was immediate. Rachel had an incredible way of being both kind and firm, holding us accountable while still showing care. Tamara and Bella were amazing in our one-on-ones, offering thoughtful feedback that pushed me to look within and begin real healing. Mike, my RA, never sugarcoated things, and I honestly appreciated that tough love more than I can explain.
Some people stood out not just for what they did, but for the size of their hearts. Jimmie, Miss J, and Miranda were unforgettable. They carried so much love and energy into the program that you couldn’t help but feel lifted up by them.
And I can’t leave out the meals—Dom and her kitchen team made food that wasn’t just good, it was made with love. It sounds small, but those meals were such a comfort and part of what made The Arbor feel like home.
The programming itself was excellent—structured, engaging, and exactly what I needed at the time. But more than the curriculum, it was the people who made the difference. The staff didn’t just work there; they cared, they showed up, and they created an environment where healing was truly possible.
My experience at The Arbor was GREAT. No complaints, and I will recommend it for as long as I can. I walked away with tools, support, and a renewed sense of hope—and that’s something I’ll always carry with me.

I was referred to The Arbor by a close friend who got sober here 5 years ago, and I’m so glad I trusted them. I was turned off to AA before coming here because of the whole God thing. I had gone to other treatment centers before and tried alternative recovery programs, but never cracked open a big book until I got here. I came in through The Arbor’s doors as a husk of a human being. I was miserable in my addiction and miserable the multiple times I tried to get sober on my own. I couldn’t stand to sit in my own skin. I was desperate for a solution - a way out of my suffering. I gave my all to this program and trusted the direction of the staff and reaped the benefits almost immediately. My recovery manager, Mike, changed my life. He loved me when I couldn’t love myself. Never in any of my past treatment experiences have we had someone directly in charge of our recovery program. The recovery managers act as a stand in sponsor while you’re in treatment and hold you accountable for progressing in your step work. This is a true dual diagnosis facility as well. My therapist Gabi was very supportive in my journey here, as I do struggle with co-occurring disorders. EMDR is an option for those with trauma who are staying long term (which I highly recommend if you can). Equine therapy was another asset - I had Danielle and worked with Tilly and gained a whole new set of tools for coping and regulation that I wouldn’t have gained in traditional talk therapy. The psychiatrists and medical team are highly qualified and don’t just push pills for the sake of pushing pills. Every single staff member at The Arbor is committed to helping you grow in your recovery. From the admissions team (shout out Tiffany) to the support staff, this place made me feel like I was in good hands every step of the way. I left with a newfound sense of self worth and direction and confidence in myself to keep working the program. Thank you to The arbor for giving me my life back. I highly recommend this facility for any out there who are still suffering and genuinely want to live a life worth living.

But I thank GOD every day for it! My desperation for change got me to Briarwood detox center. I was so scared but I was unusually willing to do anything, the night before waking up in that ditch I was contemplating suicide, again. For so many years I watched my life fall apart time and time again, over and over. I really never understood why I was unable to control my drinking. Leaving Briarwood and while being transported to Nova recovery center I didn't know what to expect but my anger and anxiety were already building. I still can't get over how amazing Nova looks, it pretty much relaxes you the minute you arrive! I had never been to "rehab" before so I was blown away by the beauty of the amenities and the attentive staff. So with that said, I was sweet and grateful to be there for about 48 hours and then I started being the walking talking character defect stage character I was, telling everyone how they should do their jobs and finding things, if not inventing things to complain about. I still get embarrassed sometimes of my actions and comments I made the first weeks of my stay. But what stands out is how the staff didn't even blink! I never got the reaction I would of deserved! I was loved on! I was given understanding and compassion! They treated me like the sick person who needed help, that I was! They dug in and held me accountable with truth and what I referrer to as grace. The Recovery specialist who work with us, for us and teach us vital solutions to my disease of alcoholism that I will be forever grateful for. From the frequent individual counseling sessions to the daily group counseling classes to the, "hey I need to talk!", I received an understanding of how to maintain my life of sobriety! Nova is a very important and special place to me so I could really go on and on but the main point I want to testify about is this, I'm truly a better person today because of the dedication to helping people by the Nova recovery family!

I really needed some accountability and to be around other sober people after a relapse on alcohol in August. I signed up for the online IOP service and my counselor was Jasmine. She was amazing. I found myself looking forward to group everyday and felt a great relief of wanting to use after group. It helped me stay sober and maintain abstinence from alcohol I am truly grateful for the program. Jasmine is amazing and I consider her a good friend at this point she was able to talk me out of using my stinking thinking a lot of times and evaluate my situations from another perspective, which helped me get away from the parts of me that contribute to relapse.

If it wasn't for this amazing program and facility I wouldn't be here today. It's been almost two years since I first walked through the doors of BRC. I would first and foremost like to say that if it wasn't for the staff for taking genuine interest and concern for my overall being and seeing past my physical appearance that I was struggling with something much deeper than I wouldn't have stayed. I see some negative comments and believe me I had some when I first got to Austin, TX. But, sitting here clean and sober almost 2 years later I will admit that if it wasn't for this knowledge that was given to me by this program, I probably wouldn't be who I am today. I've come to my own realization that your addiction will convince your brain of anything to keep you living in the darkness. It will tell you that you aren't and addict or that because you look different that you aren't an addict. I'm currently still working on underlying problems that led me down the road of addiction and using them to help build my strength to continue this journey of recovery. If it wasn't for BRC I would still be a lost 29-year-old mother of 6 beautiful children and I wouldn't know that a healthy relationship looks like or that firm boundaries with unhealthy people are okay. I walk in a new light thanks to this place and the people that make this program possible. One day my children will also thank them for giving them their mom back! No words can ever express the gratitude that I have for BRC. Please have an open mind when going into this program because I promise it will all be worth it. The program is strict but our addiction are even darker.

Sage Recovery and Wellness Center is truly a healing place. From the moment you arrive, you can feel the peace and care that went into creating such a beautiful environment. The property itself is stunning — from the pool and hot tub to the cozy spaces throughout the villa (which feels more like a luxury home than a facility).
The daily schedule may look full at first, but it’s so thoughtfully structured. Over time, you start building healthy habits and routines that carry into your everyday life after you leave. Some of my favorite parts were equine therapy at the Healing Horses Ranch (the staff there are amazing!), accudetox, yoga, and personal training. Everything is designed to help you reconnect with yourself and appreciate the little things again.
The villa is gorgeous — spacious, peaceful, and filled with comforts like books to read, a beautiful kitchen, and incredible chef-made meals. But what truly makes Sage special is the staff. They don’t just show up for you — they get down in the trenches with you. They listen, they care, and they help guide you out of the darkness with compassion and understanding.
The clients I met there became like family. Everyone is going through something, and it’s so powerful to feel seen, supported, and understood in that way. The therapists and curriculum are absolutely life-changing — I learned so many coping skills that I use every day.
I am beyond grateful for my time at Sage. It was one of the most transformative experiences of my life, and I genuinely believe they saved my life. If you’re ready to work on yourself and heal, this is the place to do it. 💛

Look, I can’t say enough good things about this clinic. They have been a literal life saver. I have been an iv/im heroin/fent user for 20 years now. I’ve been on methadone before and it’s always worked. I moved out this way to help take care of my father who is very ill. I was recently released from prison and relapsed upon my release. The main receptionist Debbie got me in right away, they got me funding to help pay for my medication. My counselor Anissa. (God I hope I got her name right) has been so kind and helpful. I recently had to rush my dad to the transplant hospital in San Antonio bc he had a blood clot dislodge and go to his lungs. I didn’t bring my id or anything. The staff at Cms got me guess dosed here in San Antonio and I am just so grateful for them. Don’t hesitate to go. Just go in and get it done and stay focused. If nothing else works for you and you’re a serious opiate addict. Methadone will work. Take it from somebody who’s went to war with my addiction. Just take the medicine and get some structure. Good luck.

Summary first: If you need treatment and are ready to follow a couple of very simple rules, THIS IS THE PLACE FOR YOU! I don’t care if u have to drive 30 miles, go here! This has BY FAR been the best experience I’ve had during my treatment! I have called 3 clinics my home over the years and this one is SO genuine!
Anissa: you’ve been nothing short of fantastic. Literally anytime I needed something, you promptly prepped all documentation and worked with me every step of the way. Our councilor visits always feel genuine, you treat me like a human being and it’s obvious you want only the best for the patients you take care of. Thank you for everything you have done for me!
Debby: you are so sweet and are always so kind. I overhear your interactions with the patients you check in and you always treat them with respect and work with them as much as you can if they run into an issue that you can take care of.
The nursing staff, (I apologize I’m horrible with names) Especially within the last 3 months are quick to dose, accurate and the sweet woman who usually doses window 2 on Mondays is extremely knowledgeable and is more than happy to answer any questions you may have. This wonderful woman reminds me of my best friend’s Mother, extremely sweet, dignified, tidy, proper proud country girl ready for anything and always has her hair done right! My best friend would probably say “she comes to work lookin’ Tuff!”
Yet again, another genuine person who only wants the best for the patients she sees.
Best part, when blood is needed to be drawn, she makes it completely painless! This is coming from someone with TINY veins. ( I know that sounds silly, but I’ve been to clinics where your arm and finger tips come out with more than a few punctures)
The Doctor who oversees everything here believes in the process. This review is really long but in short, he made me feel safe. I felt like I could tell him anything and he always replied with care and would do anything he could to help. I won’t go into details. But he is the type of doctor you HOPE to get when you’re at your lowest.
Management: what can i say without repeating myself. The clinic would not be what it is if you weren’t running the ship! The counselors you’ve hired are top notch. You go above and beyond for anyone who simply follows the rules. It’s very uncommon to have such a well rounded staff and you must’ve gone through Hundreds of applications to get the team you have here.

I can honestly say this sober living/PHP program saved my life. When I first came in, I was broken, scared, and didn’t know how to live without using. What I found here was structure, accountability, and most importantly, support from people who understood exactly what I was going through.
The house/program wasn’t just a roof over my head it became a safe place where I could rebuild myself, one day at a time. The rules, meetings, and responsibilities might have felt hard at first, but I came to realize they were teaching me how to live again.
The friendships I built, the guidance I received, and the sense of community here gave me the foundation I needed to stay sober and grow. I’ll always be grateful for the staff and my housemates who stood by me when I couldn’t stand on my own.
If you’re struggling and looking for a place to heal, I truly believe this home can give you that chance. It gave me mine, and it changed my life.

I got sober in residential treatment. But I learned how to stay sober in sober living. Living at Hyde Park mens for 8 months is the main reason I’m 4 years sober today. This place provided the structure and support I needed when transitioning back to the “real” world. Leaving inpatient can be extremely tough. You hit the pause button on your life for a bit but then you find yourself thrown right back into the fold. Nothing has changed except for you. Jeff and Korn are the ones who really run the show. They have a ton of recovery experience and are both awesome guys who truly care. Jeff changed my life and helped save my marriage, so the place gets five stars from me for that reason alone.
Thank you to Jeff, Korn, Cassandra, Jen, Leon Phelps, Aaron, and the rest of the staff!

If you’re looking for somewhere to go just to satisfy your family and chill out for a while, this probably isn’t the place for you. If you’re serious about making changes I highly recommend Nova. I went to Austin with a duffle bag of clothes and no plan 9 years ago, I built a new life with what I learned there.

My son was at this facility. At first I had a few little issues with some of the staff but learned my son was the issue not the staff. The 2 staff members I dealt with the most were Crystal and Austin and I have the upmost respect for them they both had went above and beyond to try to help my son with his issues and he ended up needing to go to a more strict facility and Austin and Crystal went above and beyond to find a facility that could help him better and Crystal went above and beyond and took time out of her busy day to take him to that facility so I didn’t have to drive for 2 days to get there to take him. I am forever grateful for everything Austin and Crystal have done to get my son the help he needs.

We drive here from BCS for my husbands care. Going to the “VA clinic” is about as fun as sitting on hold for an hour. However, I’ve found that every employee I’ve passed or observed is not only kind, but enthusiastic to help. (Specifically the two ladies at Desk 2C)
They are both kind, and eager to assist every time I hear them speak to someone.
This place is clean, seems pretty organized, and from what I can tell the patients and their families are in great hands!

Killeen, TX | Laurel Ridge Treatment Center features behavioral health and addiction treatment in San Antonio, Texas. Their inpatient Mission Resiliency Program is just for active duty military personnel, veterans and their families, including kids and seniors. One thing I like about them is how they focus on mental health issues that commonly affect military me | Treatments Programs Payment Options | I spent six weeks at this facility, and I can honestly say it was one of the most important and helpful experiences I’ve ever had for my mental health. From the very first day, I felt welcomed and supported. The environment itself is comfortable and structured. There are FREE snacks available, calm spaces, and a sense of safety that allows you to focus on healing.
The program is thoughtfully designed. There are group mental health classes and process group that give you practical tools and techniques to deal with trauma and everyday struggles. On top of that, you get individual weekly individual therapy sessions and weekly meetings with a psychiatrist, so your care feels very personalized. The group therapies were especially meaningful for me — they don’t just teach coping skills, they also help patients support one another, creating a space where you don’t feel alone in your journey.
What made the biggest difference for me were the people. Ms. Serenity and Ms. Kamiya are incredible therapists who bring warmth, patience, and real insight into every session. Nurse Amy is kind and attentive, always making sure patients are cared for. If you need laughter and giggle therapy, she is the one for it!
Therapist Mark from San Antonio added a perspective and level of support that I’ll carry with me long after leaving. Each of them played a role in helping me feel understood and encouraged to grow. Also, Jesse from the STS program in San Antonio was very helpful in taking our minds off everything (wish that could happen more). And although I didn't get much time with her, Ms. Vanessa from San Antio was also very kind and professional.
This program is especially valuable for active duty military members, who make up most of the patient community. Having others around me who understood the unique challenges that come with military life made the experience even more impactful. There’s a strong sense of connection and understanding that you just don’t find everywhere.
One additional thought I had during my time here is how much music therapy and art therapy classes could further benefit this group. Many patients come from high-stress backgrounds where words don’t always feel like enough to process deep emotions. Creative outlets like music and art would provide new ways to express feelings, release tension, and build confidence. They could also encourage teamwork and bonding in ways that complement the existing therapies, giving patients even more tools to heal and grow.
After six weeks, I left Laurel Ridge with new tools, stronger confidence, Lower Anxiety, and a deeper sense of hope. I would absolutely recommend this facility to anyone looking for real healing, structure, and support. The staff and program truly go above and beyond to help you break out of trauma bubbles and move forward.
