i was admitted here in august it was my first time ever being in a mental hospital and overall my experience was very nice i was in the sunrise unit, the staff was amazing & made me feel safe comforted and valid! i had a really bad head injury and the staff & medical staff checked up on me everyday i got transferred from the ER where they didn’t even bother looking at my head injury so i was very appreciative of that! i’m now in the outpatient program which is also amazing i will say they definitely need better food but other than that it was amazing :)

This is not one of my best places.this facility, I can't say doesn't care for there patients cause a lot of them really do, but there was some I could say we're very unprofessional.the facility is kept very clean and the food in the cafeteria is delicious.we do get to smoke a get taken to the gym for both inside and outside recreation or to just decompress.i want to thank my Drs and the techs as well as some nurses for really exercising patience in the midst of chaos.i Really do appreciate everything you did.

Wonderful facility and staff. Great food too. They let you have cigarette breaks throughout the day too, not many places have that feature for patients these days.

I've thought about checking in at their Austin facility but i heard opposite genders are not allowed to mingle. Why is it?

This place has people that really go over and beyond to ensure your process in sobriety will be as successful as you want it to become . This place left its mark clearly in my life and I’m thankful for the time I was there. Nobody is perfect failure is an apart of success. I know it’s alot but if you attend this place be willing to over come yourself and care about others life is simple we’re all on borrowed time. Tell your loved ones how much they mean to you if you have the chance. This place is a place to reinvigorate yourself into something respectable and sustainable. From David who is a walking testament and rockstar, to Liz who has a big heart and always is available ,all the way to miss mollie , miss Kimbra , Ms. Karrra ,Ms. Lillian, Ms charlotte and Ms.sofia , Aeriel to Fred ,Mr David and other MVPs such as hunter , Matt and Miss Barbie. This place ,I’m forever thankful for. I had to be one of your favorite clients btw lol I always had that place energized thank you all for every part you all played in my recovery.

Very nice people working with you. I am grateful that they do not rush the physical therapy.

I never do reviews but I am concerned about what I have experienced happening to anyone else. My name is Kimberly and I am an addict in recovery. I'd l I ke to start off being accountable by saying had I never self sabotaged myself I wouldn't of had to find a place to help me recovery from childhood trauma , alcohol and drug addiction however I didn't cope properly and I got myself into a strong hold which I. Grateful to be catching before it's too late and death and institutions are all my family have left of me. With that all being said. Please do your homework and read reviews because had I done that 1st then I would not be sitting in the ER at Baylor in a state I do not live in with no support nearby wondering why the center that called 9.1.1. 2 days ago is now telling me they no longer can keep my bed when I was suffering a TIA stroke due to conflict with another girl in the home bullying and running things due to favoritism manipulation and bullying tactics. They work off a seniority system which is great and effective to each individual however when one addict starts bossing around another addict it's a problem. When staff had to be asked by me to explain the rules to the house to the new comers because we are having other girls in treatment getting frustrated having to tell us the rules that's a problem.....when your given an LE which is a learning experience write up aka spank on the hand and has consequences attached to it by another client in the home who has child hood trauma and bullying issues that's a problem. This is what happened to me and I will just tell you I've never felt more trapped , unheard and more unsafe then I did there. That's truly unfortunate. They have many beds open at the moment and they are telling me that because I've had to come here due to my health which they were told about previously but chose to not let me have my medication which is a blood thinner because of the bottle being opened already that's a huge problem it's discrimination and it's abandoning a client aka patient. They could simply eliminate bullying and allowing senior peers to tell others peers what to do vs staying in their bubble or lane and staff can be more consistent but Instead I'm having to send an Uber to get my belongings so they are not donated in 24 hours from a facility I drove 15 hours to be at. I will also say there is alot of greatness and great staff at this facility and the clinical team is amazing but the actual home needs a better POA , have exit strategies when emergencies happen and most importantly it needs a Safer" safe place "environment plan in my opinion. Not all of us have been to prison or jail and not all of us were raised the same so allowing uneducated clients tell other clients what to do or kicking off their shoes getting ready to fight is not what my trauma driven addicted mind and heart needed that's for sure. Just educate yourself on every level before choosing a place for your loved one. That is the best advice I can give you. For me this wasn't it and I'm disappointed because I felt blessed to be given a bed there and now I'm feeling blessed to beggetting my things from there and this will not be the end of my recovery. I won't and don't have to use again and I pray your loved one never does either. When staff sees a problem and makes use correct it it becomes a staffing problem. To much drama for me. It was like high school all over again. Too much bullying going on.
