The Arbor Behavioral Healthcare in the Austin, Texas, area has residential substance abuse treatment programs for men and women over the age of 18. The Arbor quite literally saved my life. I came in completely broken and out of options, and from the moment I arrived, the staff met me with compassion, honesty, and the structure I desperately needed. This was the first place where I felt truly seen—not just as someone struggling with addiction, but as a human being who deserved healing and hope. The Arbor gave me the gift of desperation that turned into the gift of freedom. I left with tools, confidence, and a sense of purpose I didn’t think I’d ever feel again. If you are struggling—or if you love someone who is—this is where you want to be. I am living proof that recovery is possible, and The Arbor is the reason I’m sober today. Thank you, Arbor family. I owe you everything.

I meant to share this sooner, but life after treatment got busy fast. Looking back now, I’m beyond grateful for my time at The Arbor because it gave me the tools, structure, and support I needed to step back into life with confidence. Reaching out for help wasn’t easy. I felt ashamed for losing the sobriety I had worked hard for, and I didn’t want to admit I needed treatment again. But reaching out to The Arbor was truly the best decision I made for myself. Taylor Anne Ramsey was the first person I connected with, and she met me with nothing but compassion. She never judged me—she just wanted to help. From there, she connected me with Tiffany Tidwell, who immediately made me feel safe and reassured that I was in good hands. That was the moment I knew The Arbor’s treatment would live up to the warmth and energy both Taylor Anne and Tiffany showed me. Within days of arriving, the staff went above and beyond to make me feel welcome—it was immediate. Rachel had an incredible way of being both kind and firm, holding us accountable while still showing care. Tamara and Bella were amazing in our one-on-ones, offering thoughtful feedback that pushed me to look within and begin real healing. Mike, my RA, never sugarcoated things, and I honestly appreciated that tough love more than I can explain. Some people stood out not just for what they did, but for the size of their hearts. Jimmie, Miss J, and Miranda were unforgettable. They carried so much love and energy into the program that you couldn’t help but feel lifted up by them. And I can’t leave out the meals—Dom and her kitchen team made food that wasn’t just good, it was made with love. It sounds small, but those meals were such a comfort and part of what made The Arbor feel like home. The programming itself was excellent—structured, engaging, and exactly what I needed at the time. But more than the curriculum, it was the people who made the difference. The staff didn’t just work there; they cared, they showed up, and they created an environment where healing was truly possible. My experience at The Arbor was GREAT. No complaints, and I will recommend it for as long as I can. I walked away with tools, support, and a renewed sense of hope—and that’s something I’ll always carry with me.

I was referred to The Arbor by a close friend who got sober here 5 years ago, and I’m so glad I trusted them. I was turned off to AA before coming here because of the whole God thing. I had gone to other treatment centers before and tried alternative recovery programs, but never cracked open a big book until I got here. I came in through The Arbor’s doors as a husk of a human being. I was miserable in my addiction and miserable the multiple times I tried to get sober on my own. I couldn’t stand to sit in my own skin. I was desperate for a solution - a way out of my suffering. I gave my all to this program and trusted the direction of the staff and reaped the benefits almost immediately. My recovery manager, Mike, changed my life. He loved me when I couldn’t love myself. Never in any of my past treatment experiences have we had someone directly in charge of our recovery program. The recovery managers act as a stand in sponsor while you’re in treatment and hold you accountable for progressing in your step work. This is a true dual diagnosis facility as well. My therapist Gabi was very supportive in my journey here, as I do struggle with co-occurring disorders. EMDR is an option for those with trauma who are staying long term (which I highly recommend if you can). Equine therapy was another asset - I had Danielle and worked with Tilly and gained a whole new set of tools for coping and regulation that I wouldn’t have gained in traditional talk therapy. The psychiatrists and medical team are highly qualified and don’t just push pills for the sake of pushing pills. Every single staff member at The Arbor is committed to helping you grow in your recovery. From the admissions team (shout out Tiffany) to the support staff, this place made me feel like I was in good hands every step of the way. I left with a newfound sense of self worth and direction and confidence in myself to keep working the program. Thank you to The arbor for giving me my life back. I highly recommend this facility for any out there who are still suffering and genuinely want to live a life worth living.

I absolutely love this clinic. They are so nice. This clinic has done everything possible to make the closing of my old clinic 4 yrs ago, so it was seemless and easy. I have stayed because I am completely comfortable. The counselors are so wonderful and nice. The cost is typical. They are even accepting Medicaid and Medicare. I am so happy I was able to transfer. I completed a full stay at the lighthouse sober living as well as went through their PHP, IOP, and SOP programs they offer. Lighthouse didn’t just get me back on my feet, but they laid the necessary tools to live a happy, sober, and independent life in front of me and showed me in depth how to use each and every one of them. I will forever be in debt to what this program gave me during the most formative year of my life. Lighthouse is one of very few places where every staff member truly just wants to see you succeed. I could go through the list of names, but it would be too long. Thank you lighthouse for giving me the why’s and the how’s on how to live a life beyond what I could have imagined a little over a year ago.

Navigating this past year with my child in recovery was incredibly challenging, especially with him being 12 hours away from home. From the very beginning, the team at Lighthouse Recovery made me feel supported and informed every step of the way. I could tell that they truly cared for my child, not just as a client, but as a person. Bryce, my son’s case manager, was always timely and compassionate in his communication, answering my questions and keeping me updated. Frankie, the operations manager, took the time to help me understand addiction and what my child was going through. Brooke, the Chief Clinical Officer, also offered guidance and support. I had to trust complete strangers with my child, and I can honestly say that Lighthouse became an extension of our family. Their dedication, professionalism, and genuine care made an overwhelming situation feel manageable, and I am deeply grateful for everything they did to support both my child and our family.

This place is absolute trash. Avoid at all costs. They will throw heavy drugs at your loved one and then when the loved one reacts badly and you call literally 20 times in a week for help, calls are not returned, psychiatrists cannot be reached until they are in office once a week, and emergency situations are ignored, all while your loved one suffers. I made a huge mistake trying to get my loved one help here. Don’t let your loved one or yourself slip through the cracks of this facility, and possibly lose their life.

OT Edwin was the Best! A little hard at times, but balanced with encouragement that challenged my mindset to think in positive terms of what I believed I could do physically. PT Justin was also very good at tailoring my workouts to accommodate sore muscles rather than charging forward with his original plan. He was very conscious to not over use a strained muscle and possibility risking an injury, but altered my plan to still achieve the goals set. In reference to OT Edwin & PT Justin, I am amazed with my progress from Monday 8/4 to Friday 8/13! Nurse on 8/6 (Wed overnight into Thursday AM) had a very unhelpful attitude towards me. It was like I was wasting her time when I asked for her help. 8/7 & 8/8 Nurse Ruth & nurse tech DeeDee were top notch! And great attitudes! Nurses Karla & Michelle & nurse techs  Janie & Lateka were also very good! Dr. Rega stopped by everyday to ask if there was anything I needed--med adjustments, etc.). After I had been here a week, the bed was leaving a lot to be desired. When she asked me on Friday AM if there was anything she could get me, I half jokingly said a new bed would be nice. Her response was to let her see what she could do. When I returned from therapy at lunch, they delivered a new mattress! And they double stacked the new w/the old one. A major improvement!

I was put in there at 17 by my high school, and I was a little mad when they put me in impatient because I thought it was over the top just for some small thoughts, but after a week I came out knowing more information about myself, I got diagnosed with depression and anxiety, which I would have never known I had. I got the medication and information I needed to get better. I made friends and learned so much about myself! Exult Healthcare is a medical center that offers drug rehab services to adults seeking substance abuse recovery around McKinney, Texas. This center provides treatment through an intensive outpatient program and medication-assisted treatment. Services include treatment for co-occurring conditions. The center also provides LGBTQ+ therapy services.
I had the privilege of completing a month-long rotation at Exult Healthcare with Dr. Bhargava as a 4th year medical student going into psychiatry myself, and it was truly one of the most enriching experiences of my medical education. Dr. Bhargava is a remarkable physician and mentor with an unmatched depth of knowledge and true compassion for her patients. The rest of the entire team at Exult also embodies a patient-centered, integrative approach to mental health care. I was consistently impressed by the collaborative environment and the emphasis on treating the whole person when observing IOP, TMS, and Spravato sessions. Whether you’re a patient seeking high-quality care or a student looking for meaningful clinical experience, Exult Healthcare is truly exceptional.

As a licensed professional counselor with 30 years in practice, TMS (transcranial magnetic stimulation) is the biggest game changer I have ever encountered. Dr. Barghava’s Clinic offers the insurance-covered protocol but also offers the rapid protocol that, to my knowledge, is not widely available yet, for those who choose to private pay. Virtually zero side effects (other than the inconvenience of scheduling 36 sessions) and rapid results - I highly recommend. VERY highly recommend.

I spent almost 2 months in residential treatment here and back then i believe that it was positive learning experience. every day we stayed in some type of class or group activity. attended NA and AA weekly. was taught the 12 steps. spent christmas here in 1999. new years as well. Y2K. thought all the lights were gonna go off that night. but i was still a knuckle head. smoked cigarettes in the bathroom. hid snacks in my window and was kicked out because my room mate was stiffing finger nail polish and i didnt report it. 25 years ago today there were good people that worked there. if your kids dont learn anything here its because they didnt listen or didnt care cause they give you lots of tool and info.

I had an incredible experience today with Margo at the Mental Health Clinic in Plano. I’ve been in and out of the VA system for 16 years and have had every kind of experience you can imagine, but Margo is one of those rare people who truly made a difference my life. I walked in today feeling overwhelmed and unsure where to turn. Margo immediately made me feel calm, safe, and understood. Her energy was exactly what I needed. She listened and really heard me and it was that rare moment in mental health when it just clicked and she just gets it. Just when I didn’t think I was positive I wasn’t going to be able to get help anywhere, just more run around, she helped and made so much happen. Her professionalism, compassion, experience and presence were exceptional. She was a bright spot in a moment of real crisis for me, and I’m deeply grateful for her time and guidance today. The VA system needs more people like Margo. Thank you for everything you did for me.

This place got some memories fr. I feel like God touches ppl fr here. When I got here I thought everything was over, until I got here, and just after 20 mins, I met someone who gave me life again. And then I started to realize a bunch. Each and every kid in the unit was broken in some sort of way, and I felt like God was touching them in some sort of way. Keep out your head Little homie, cuz das a scary place to get lost in. I would like to thank Mrs.Tyson for never being scared to give us the truth, and going out her way to meet the kids needs. Thanks, and love to Mrs.Tyson, Mrs.Jessica, and Mrs.Gloria. I have some really good memories in this place. Your story is never over, never give up, because you answer to all you questions may be answered next week. The thing abt life is that, u never know, opportunities come and go. It's up to YOU to make your life what u want it to be. The future is what you make it. Make today better than yesterday, and tomorrow better than today. To live your life properly, you have to evolve your mindset, and make it a mindset of your being. Thanks to this moment in Cedar, I'vd overcome a lot of struggles, mainly the ones with my parents, I got rid of that crazy step mom, and i'm actually able to talk to my dad now. My music career is stepping up majorly. And i'm finally clean, and I;m on a record. Been clean since May. Got in here in March, so I get it if it takes time, I was there too. my feelings so lost and I was so confused with them, I was kicked out, or I just ran away. I was in random ppl's houses. I been there. But it does get better, but always remember, ppl can't help or change you if you don't let them in, and let them help you.
