I was referred to KPR by a dear friend who is alumni and I can clearly see why. I am so glad I chose to get as far away from my home as possible in a safe space where I could heal and get all I could for my journey in sobriety. I chased my grief away at the bottom of a bottle and pills. I came to KPR to process my grief and stop running from it AND to choose me for once! To relax a little in between our busy daily itineraries in a beautiful location, choosing ME, bc I had not stopped going since my late husband drowned. I was blessed enough to have a solid support system at home who wanted to actively participate in my recovery this time so that helped tremendously but wasn’t always the case in my past. KPR gave me so much more than I dreamed I would get. After multiple attempts to acquire long term sobriety from substance abuse, mental health, and traumas, I was convinced that I was a hopeless, lost cause! Spiritually Exhausted of a physical existence! Any concerns I came with or acquired during my stay were each individually addressed with great care and in a timely manner! The staff was each unique and armed with pertinent knowledge and inspiration. The property and programming live up to their description! They will literally go above and beyond to make you feel as safe and comfortable as possible. Until the day I walked out the door I was completely impressed by their care… the only complaint is the FOOD! Not terrible. Not good. And the cook. I had a couple of incidents with her and I feel her lack of professionalism is incredibly concerning and disturbing to be working with a vulnerable population. From what I understand she has a history of this behavior so it is with respect I make you and others aware. I have no doubt it has been addressed. Thank you KPR for loving me while I was there and blessings upon all who have the genuine heart and attitude of servitude! I have been to rehabs numerous times before coming to Kemah Palms. I can’t express how wonderful and helpful all the staff have been. Hands down the best detox/inaptient experience I’ve ever had. I am leaving here today with an abundance of self esteem, stability, and joy. I feel confident and ready to face whatever may come my way. The tools and strategies they’ve showed me, I will carry with me and use. As I leave inpatient today… I’m choosing to continue my recovery and sobriety over to their sober living. I’m beyond excited to live again.

Ok hear me out …..I didn’t have any issues . If you are worried about wait time just show up at 7 you are still going to have to wait a few hours but not like a crazy wait time . If you come after 7 expect to be there a while ….i walked in did paperwork got evaluated(I already have a diagnosis) and dr appointment scheduled next day for meds in less then 3 hours very fast easy process (IF) you come at 7 . I’m sure it’s easy after 7 as a well just maybe not so fast …. Hope it helped.

I just left this amazing place! Nervous not knowing what to expect not wanting to be there. I did 21 days. The 21 days there was life changing. I will always be grateful for this place and the counselors and the staff. Met some people I will never forget and my counselor Cody most importantly. Bay Area Recovery Center in Dickinson is a great place with people who truly care. The staff is supportive, understanding, and genuinely wants to see everyone who comes through there succeed. Hi: My name is Leslie L. I was treated at TRS in July & August of this year for Substance Abuse Disorder. I cannot say enough wonderful things about my experience at TRS and the impact this program had on my addiction, recovery, and life. I completed TRS's detox, residential, and PHP program. Each level of care played a significant & important role in my Recovery. As soon as I walked into TRS I was treated with understanding, compassion, dignity, and patience. The entire staff truly cared about me not just as a client, as a person as well. Treatment at TRS helped me understand myself, face my struggles, and taught me tools I needed to help me in the future with my addiction and disease one day at a time. The transition from detox, residential, and PHP was seamless and gave me the structure and support I needed at each stage. I learned coping skills, a better understanding of my disease and my addiction. I learned that Recovery is really possible if I put in the work I needed by paying attention, listening, and participating in group. Most importantly, TRS gave me hope when I desperately needed it. I left TRS with gratitude, strength, knowledge, and a belief in a new design of living. To every staff member who supported me along this journey: Thank You from the bottom of my heart. Your kindness, knowledge, and encouragement helped me when I was fighting for my life. I will never forget this amazing program. I'm honored I had an opportunity to attend this program. The facility is magnificent and far exceeded my expectations of a recovery facility. Firstly, I was allowed to bring my fur baby with me which was a wonderful comfort to me. I don’t think I would have done as well without having her with me. The facilities are clean and well-kempt. The staff is caring, understanding, and genuinely invested in your unique recovery journey (Jacob and Sunny are phenomenal). The therapists authentically understand the journey to recovery and ensure everyone feels respected and heard. While your recovery is taken seriously and put in the work, they make the process fun and relatable. The physician and nursing staff is thorough and available 24/7 - they care about each patient and their bedside manner is impeccable. They are NOT autonomous robots like you see with a lot of other medical facilities. Nursing even does occasional group sessions on the medical aspects of recovery, post-recovery preventative care. You are even sent home with a supply of medications to help bridge the gap between discharge and your own provider. And the food… where do I start? I have travelled all over the country for work, eating at high end hotels and restaurants yet the thrice daily meal here far exceeded in quality and variety. The thrice daily, freshly cooked international cuisines were amazing! They also have juices, sodas, flavored water, coffee, teas, high end snacks, and even ice cream available 24/7. They have working washers and dryers and even provide Tide pods and dryer sheets. The outside grounds are peaceful and the outside activities during and after group sessions are relaxing. They have karaoke, acupuncture, movie nights, and yoga among other activities. I highly recommend this facility!

This was the best decision I could have made for my mental wellness. Everyone has life issues and experiences. Sometimes you don’t know you need professional help until you’re in the middle of it. Well I was. I am blessed to have a support system who was on board for my self care. I researched various IOPs/PHPs that my psychiatrist suggested. The Heights Treatment sounded like the best fit for me. Based on reviews and researching the area, solidified my choice to start treatment there. So I did. From the intake for IOP5, to individual therapy sessions, to group sessions including equine therapy, to individual sessions with Dr. R, was well thought out to get this group of professionals to help people. The one who held it together with scheduling to communicating to even listening for a couple of minutes in passing, was truly a blessing. Their client care services, Adam, is kind and professional. They all make you feel welcome. Bre - my therapist, help tremendously. Various group sessions, helped me realize so much. They gave me the tools to help me reach my goals. They helped me choose to do the work. Be it daily checking in, verbalizing my emotion at the time, concerns, etc, these are the things for me, that were so beneficial in my mental wellness. Heights Treatment was a Godsend and it saved my life. I love how unique each therapist is. They have a wide variety of therapies including equine therapy, emdr, trauma processing, as well as individual and group therapy. Scheduling was easy, the staff was kind and were always available for me when I needed to talk. This is one of the Best Recovery Centers that I have ever been to. The staff are there with you through it all, whether it be a Residential Assistant or a Nurse or your own Clinician you are never doing it alone. They've Got You all the way through to the end. So thankful for my Santa Maria Family. My sister was her about 3 times in 2 years. Every time we tried to get her admitted, we didn’t follow protocol and the staff always assisted us and she was always approved! The staff looked out for my sister and niece, it takes a village and thank god for each and every staff member here! From the counselors to the security. I still updated them on my sister because I know they care for her. I never got to visit inside so no comment but i witnessed my sister get her own place, look healthier by the day and get employment. She a break and time to recover. Will always be grateful for their services.

At the beginning of 2019 i could have never imagined how the year would end. Our daughter had been struggling with addiction since college. Her therapist recommended BARC and when she came out of the recovery center, she was not even close to the person she went in as. She embraced the program and did the work to better herself and her life. Fast forward to 2026, she is still sober and is living a full life now with a supportive husband and two beautiful daughters. She still puts in the work to stay sober but learned how to do this through BARC.

I couldn’t say enough great things about BARC. House 3 is where my entire life changed and changed for the better. I learned so much about myself, alcoholism / addiction and exactly how it affected me. When you understand “The Stickman” then it all starts making sense. The staff at BARC is amazing. They don’t just talk about alcoholism / addiction that they’ve learned from a book. Everyone there has been there before and knows first hand what they are talking about and teaching. There is not a place on earth I could recommend more highly than BARC for recovery. A lot gets said about the VA system; and I, for one, have been pretty critical... mostly related to the "administration" and positions related. But, I want to say I had one of the most pleasant (if skin can surgery for 4 hours can be pleasant) experiences this morning at the Houston VAMC Dermatology Department. I had interface with more than 6 medical personnel for my procedures this morning. Got "called back" 30 minutes early, by name. I was attended by 2 surgeons, a supervising surgeon, a graduating MD, and two wound care nurses. Into Action has the best rehab experience I’ve had yet. They scared the shit out of me and I think maybe that’s exactly what I needed.
