Cenikor definitely changed my life for the better. They gave me a second opportunity to restart my life and for that I will always be grateful. The staff is very caring and always willing to help with anything you need. They will help you get social security cards, and identification to help you get a job to get back on your feet. And there are many job opportunities local to the facility. I am blessed to have 16 months sober today and could not have done it without Cenikor. If you are looking struggling with alcoholism and or addiction I highly recommend the 30 day residential program and then going to the sober living as they have the staff with the willingness, and the resources to help you.

Best time of my life; it was the staff, the food and the people along side me as patients, that were all really lovely. Of course there were little things I didn’t like so much but they were usually minor like eating in front of others.( I have severe anxiety) Words cannot express how grateful I am to this place, and maybe it was because I went to an amazing unit but I felt safe and comfortable. I’ve actually joked to my family saying “If I ever have another mental breakdown, this is where I wanna go”.😂 I expected the reviews to be incredibly high though so I’m quite surprised, maybe I got the location wrong? (This is simply my perspective of my time here, don’t take my word for it, simply consider it for a moment.)I actually cried so hard when I had to leave, and the staff was comforting me, making sure that I was alright.I felt like I had to leave a review just to wish another person would have this experience as well.

edit three years later cus i did actually end up returning in 2024. still the sweetest staff, unit ATP rules yo.. and the food is amazing. superb bedding and amenties. ur not a patient here, just another human being receiving genuine and real care from other human beings. cannot recommend menninger enough. what a saving grace [2021 review] - i've been to a few different hospitals, and menninger puts every other hospital to shame. the staff here actually made me feel cared about. the therapy was helpful, and the nurses are easy to get along with. the food is outstanding! they had a panini grill, dessert everyday, a cafe, and so many food options. they have a nice pool, that i've never used, but my friends enjoyed going. :) the rooms are amazing as well. they have very clean rooms with a very comfortable chair and lovely bedding as well. you actually have space on the bed, wow! the overall experience was so joyful. i love this place and i'll keep the memories i have with me for such a long time. you'll meet some of the best people there, from different locations as well. easily the best i've been to :)

If could give this place zero stars, I absolutely would. I have been attempting to get in contact with someone at the Montrose Center for three months now, leaving countless voicemails and trying to set up appointments—none of which have been fulfilled. Despite my persistent efforts, I have yet to speak to a single person. When I visited the center in person, I was met with an unfriendly atmosphere. No one offered assistance or even attempted to help me get checked in. For a place that claims to be a resource for the LGBTQ+ community, the lack of responsiveness and care is shocking and deeply disappointing. I’ve also noticed an alarming number of similar complaints in their reviews, and it’s even more disheartening that no one from the organization seems to care enough to respond. After doing my research, I’ve identified the organizations that fund the Montrose Center and have recorded my phone calls to show how poorly they handle their operations. I plan to share these recordings with those organizations to highlight the neglect and lack of service provided here. Furthermore, I will be filing a formal complaint with the Better Business Bureau and contacting all relevant organizations that support this business. It’s unfortunate that it’s come to this, but after three months of being ignored, I feel I have no other choice. This center is supposed to be a safe haven for the LGBTQ+ community, but my experience has been anything but. The Montrose Center needs to take accountability for its actions—or lack thereof—and start treating people with the dignity and respect they deserve.

Wouldn’t be saying anything if this place wasn’t $28,000. Experienced multiple medication mixups and medical neglect while I was here. It is what I would describe as an austere facility; the beds are rock hard and the AC doesn't seem to function well. Also, was left alone most of the time when I was crying. They are there to treat addictions and psychosis. It is largely a DBT- based program and they are trying to put you through the paces. They saw my insomnia as depression or a sleep-schedule issue; which is largely not the case. It is just a disease resulting in lack of sleep. I came home even more sleep deprived when I went in. I don’t believe they know how to help you if you have anxiety or trauma. They don’t understand it. I saw my therapist three times. The rest of the time I was just hanging out there. Other people will bully you. I'm sorry to the people who like this place or had a good time here. This was not my experience. I do think most of the staff members were genuinely nice, but misinformed. Some of them did help me and I think are very kind and competent. I don't blame them, I blame the system. They did help me with some things. However, Menninger did not save me. Jesus Christ saved me. There's a video on Youtube I watched with a testimony that really helped me. I also realized I still have OCD-like thoughts and pretty bad PTSD that manifests in unusual ways. Fortunately, I am learning coping skills on my own to cope with it. Also, if you didn't know, if you manage your lifestyle and get adequate sleep, 50-60% of people with depression won't have it anymore. Also, being socially isolated can literally mimic mental health conditions even when you don't even have them. There, I just saved you some money and heartache. There are much better “treatment” options out there.

The place itself is very nice. Also the staff was very friendly. My daughter went for depression and suicidal ideation. They barely did of any trauma or ptsd therapy which is what i asked them to do. They basically threw her on new meds and wanted to release her the next day but knowing how the meds might affect her. Kept saying my insurance wouldn't cover anymore time so I called my insurance and they explained that they hadn't bothered to request more time or provide a clinical update. After that they requested 2 more days then wanted to release her. Even after I told them I had just talked to her the night before and she was still expressing how sad and depressed she was. Very disappointed in her stay there.

I’m going to go with the cliche, “if I could leave less than 1 star I would.” I came here for some serious help and when I arrived to be admitted, everything seemed fine and went smoothly. It wasn’t until the next morning when they did routine tests that I found out I had COVID and in turn, needed to be isolated in my room for the next 5 days. Mind you, I went in for suicidal ideation. I accepted their protocol to do quarantine since I was already there. ASSUMING I would still get the help I needed. WRONG. I was treated like I wasn’t important and like I had the plague. They gave me a call button for when and if I needed something. But for what if you’re going to make it seem like such a chore to bring me just a glass of water. I can maybe count a couple of nurses that were empathetic and helpful. Many of them didn’t even introduce themselves or give me a name. For the majority, no one wanted to deal with me and I was pawned off on several nurses throughout the day everyday I was there. I got no therapy, no actual help. I met with the psychiatrist who eventually got me on some medication but that’s literally all I benefited from being there. That could’ve been a phone call! Not a waste of a week! I can sit here and list every single encounter I had with the nurses. From throwing away my dinner without asking me, to mixing my belongings up with someone else’s, to being cut off mid sentence while asking for something and walking away, to coming to the door and saying, “what you need”, to not routinely coming to check on me like they’re supposed to, to not ever coming by to ask if I needed fresh towels, linens, NOTHING, to coming to the door and saying, “I’m not going to come in and I’ll stand out here if that is okay.” Like are we not in a hospital setting and you should act like a nurse should and care for your patient regardless? I left this facility feeling worse than I did when I went in. Absolute WORST experience I have ever had. I DO NOT RECOMMEND. And I will NEVER go back God forbid I need help again!

I took my child there for about 3yrs. It was a huge help! They provided my child with tools to help her deal and process different situations in life. At first it was a bit slow because my child was apprehensive but once she started opening up, then there started to be progress. Understand that this is a two way street. You get as much as you put into it. Also, as a parent you have to be open and willing to take responsibility for your part, as well as patient and understanding of the process. The change and progress is gradual. I beg you from one parent to another, don’t be the one to stump your child’s emotional and mental health. I recommend therapy to any and everyone who is willing to listen. There is a better way, for a better tomorrow.
