Our kids have been seeing Ms. Heather a therapist that works with children about 6 months now and I have to write this review today because she is amazing and the world should know also to help potential patients find a good child therapist. As a parent dealing with any psychological or emotional issues I could not ask for a better person she has went above her requirements countless times and helped us through many crisis situations and has basically held us up through out the entire process of helping us help our children she finds referrals when we need them, tracks down necessary documentation and has stayed on the line through complete and utter chaos to ensure the baby s get through these moments, and continues to keep us going forward. She advocates for the kids mental health and pushes the process, she is professional and kind and willing to go the extra mile for these kids every single day and that is something that is more than you usually expect to receive when dealing with these situations. So Heather if your reading this your Amazing! And parents if your reading this lost in the process desperate for real help ask for heather by names. Heather Tawfikk is her name. Accepted Insurance

Easterseals Michigan works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Sliding scale payments are based on a client's income and family size. The goal is to make treatment affordable to everyone. By taking these factors into account, addiction recovery care providers help ensure that your treatment does not become a financial burden to you or your family, eliminating one barrier to care.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient
Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) are for those who want or need a very structured treatment program but who also wish to live at home and continue with certain responsibilities (such as work or school). IOP substance abuse treatment programs vary in duration and intensity, and certain outpatient rehab centers will offer individualized treatment programs.
heart-hands iconIntervention Services
Intervention services helps family or friends of addicts stage an intervention, which is a meeting in which loved ones share their concerns and attempt to get an addict into treatment. Professional intervention specialists can help loved ones organize, gather, and communicate with an addict. They can guide intervention participants in describing the damage the addict's behavior is causing and that outside help is necessary to address the addiction. The ideal outcome of an intervention is for the addict to go to rehab and get the help they need.
aftercare iconAftercare Support
Completing a drug or alcohol rehab program shouldn't spell the end of substance abuse treatment. Aftercare involves making a sustainable plan for recovery, including ongoing support. This can include sober living arrangements like halfway houses, career counseling, and setting a patient up with community programs like Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) or Narcotics Anonymous (NA).

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Drug rehab in Michigan provides personalized treatment to help individuals break this cycle and regain control of their lives. Treatment methods are used in various levels of care, including inpatient rehab, partial hospitalization programs, intensive outpatient programs, and standard outpatient treatment.

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
military-program thumbnail image
Military Program
Serving in the military is both mentally and physically challenging, and can result in trauma that persists even after combat ends. Military programs are tailored to the specific and often complex needs of active duty personnel, veterans, and military families. Clients often access these programs through the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a modified form of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a treatment designed to help people understand and ultimately affect the relationship between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. DBT is often used for individuals who struggle with self-harm behaviors, such as self-mutilation (cutting) and suicidal thoughts, urges, or attempts. It has been proven clinically effective for those who struggle with out-of-control emotions and mental health illnesses like Borderline Personality Disorder.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Life skills trainings involve all the skills a person must have in order to function successfully in the world. These include time management, career guidance, money management, and effective communication. Truly successful addiction recovery is based on the ability to not only live substance-free, but to thrive. Life skills teaches the practical necessities of functioning in society, which sets clients up for success in life, and therefore sobriety.

Motivational Interviewing (MI) is a clinical approach to helping people with substance abuse issues and other conditions shift behavior in positive ways. It is more goal-oriented than traditional psychotherapy, as MI counselors directly attempt to get clients to consider making behavioral change (rather than wait for them to come to conclusions themselves). Its primary purpose is to resolve ambivalence and help clients become able to make healthy choices freely.

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

This 5 star review is for Alicia Newberry!! She's literally the best person at this location. She's a case worker and goes above and beyond for her clients. If it wasn't for her, I might have already left honestly. Dee used to be my therapist there and she's another amazing person, but no longer there unfortunately. Luckily, they have Alicia Newberry though!!

Response from the ownerInvalid relative date format:
Matt, thank you for the wonderful review. We'll be sure to share this with the entire location, especially Alicia!

My son needs serious help that they can't or won't provide or direct us to who can all because his mom states she has NO issues at her house and him trying to severely harm his siblings at my house and him admiting that he blacks out and has severe behavior especially when someone sings or plays songs from Disney's Frozen isn't good enough to get him help or take us seriously. I am planning on no longer picking him up to protect the people I'm my household because I am convinced nothing is going to get better and my son even said "As long as you pick me up people will get hurt" If I was confident i could sue this facility for negligence and win, I would"

Response from the ownerInvalid relative date format:
Steven, we have shared your review with the directors of this location to make them aware of your concerns. They may be reaching out to you to discuss this situation a little more.

I can't 0 stars here but I would definitely if I could. I can't even begin to tell you how awful of an experience I had with this place, if you are a new patient please head my warning... I have been forced to miss work for appts that weren't necessary. The case manager gave me a run around and put me though repetitive appts to get a therapist for my child only for her to quit a day before her first in person appt. Then the case manager told me she needs more information and more appts with her before I can get another therapist.. again necessary appts.. Only for her to quit and give me another case manager.. I try to book an in person appt with another therapist and they didn't even know her in person office schedule so we waited for 35min just for her not to show up.. Gave them another chance... This time I made an appointment with the therapist so I know that she will be there. I go to confirm today. and nothing I call the office. They say nothing scheduled. The communication there is awful. All I need is help for my child, this is not the place. A coworker recommend this business. And while the location by him was great this one is the worst experience I've ever had life.

Response from the ownerInvalid relative date format:
We'd love to hear more about this situation but we need a little more information from you. If you are interested, please contact us at 248.475.6413.

My son is 16 and severely autistic. He also has Sibs. This place has been a life saver for our family. Since getting Easter seals involved he is getting all the needed therapies and psychiatry help. We have been blessed with the team involved with his care. Our case manager Vanessa Klingenberg is phenomenal. Our psychiatrist is loving and shows compassion for my family. I’ve never had issues with his medication refills or making appointments. Highly recommend

This place is a joke and should be shut down bu the government. My case manager lied to me for over a year and a half, her manager today just basically told me that it was my fault. My "doctor" is actually a nurse who doesn't listen at all. I am now 10s of thousands of dollars in debt because Eaater Seals employees liars.

Response from the ownerInvalid relative date format:
Jasen, Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We have passed this along to the director of the location to get a better understanding of your situation. Someone may contact you to discuss this.
