About Eugenia Behavioral Health Center

Eugenia Center has been treating clients with substance use disorder (SUD) and co-occurring mental health issues since 1991. They offer outpatient and day treatment programs at various locations, including the facility in Aberdeen, Washington. They accept Medicaid, private health insurance, and self pay on a sliding fee scale.

Accessible Dual Diagnosis Treatment in Aberdeen

The facility in Aberdeen is conveniently located near US Route 101. There are many parks and cultural attractions in the Aberdeen area, including scenic Grays Harbor. Grays Harbor is a historical seaport on the Pacific Coast with miles of beaches where you can take a scenic walk and enjoy the healing benefits of nature.

The treatment facility’s outpatient program provides intensive outpatient treatment that includes individual and group counseling sessions. Clients receive integrated treatment for dual diagnosis (co occurring disorders). While in the program, you’ll have a case manager to help you navigate your treatment.

A case manager provides ongoing assessments, client advocacy, and treatment coordination to ensure you get the services you need and are able to take advantage of all available resources. The case manager is your liaison who offers support between counseling sessions and can answer any questions you have. Case managers are flexible and can meet you in the community if you’re unable to make it to the facility.

Supportive and Integrated Treatment Services

One of the nice things about this program is the supportive services. In addition to counseling and addiction treatment, you’ll have access to other services that can assist you in achieving an independent, substance free life.

Eligible clients who are 18 and older may qualify for supportive housing. The program provides assistance to clients moving from homelessness to independent living. The staff helps you find appropriate housing and trains, educates, and coaches you to advocate for your own needs and resolve disputes to keep you in a stable and safe living environment.

Additionally, eligible clients 16 and over may qualify for help in finding suitable employment. The program helps match you with meaningful employment that’s suited to your abilities and interests.

Absolute awful service my therapist left and nobody told me why or where they went so I was without a therapist for months on end I tried coming back and I told him that I was moving so I needed A consultation before I left and they canceled it right before this place is an absolute joke. Don’t go here if you want to be taken seriously.

This place has been a great help for me. They're incredibly understanding about scheduling, take great care in setting you up and with a therapist you get along with, and give you plenty of resources with the intent of reaching your goals. I've been going here for almost a full year now and it's been completely worth it.

Where to begin where to begin. First and foremost neither this Branch or the chehalis branch have any respect for their clients their well-being or anything they have to say. I was constantly being lied to, having appointments canceled because my therapist decided to call out and have a vacation day rather than help her client, and a complete disregard to the fact that I needed to be put back on my antidepressant. In short form you may read my other review to the chehalis Branch to see how I truly feel about these people. I would not recommend this place to an adult, child, etc, at all. These people have no right to be working in mental health with how incompetent they are to a person's needs. If I could write both this branch and the chehalis Branch zero Stars I would do it because they do not deserve anyone coming to see them for mental health help want my advice go someplace else because these people are a joke, a laughingstock, and half the people there I guarantee their degrees are fake. Do not trust these people do not speak to these people because they do not care and I give this review with my freedom of speech because I have that right. My advice go someplace that will respect you and treat you as if you are family not somebody that's going to tread on you and make you feel like dirt

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient
Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) are for those who want or need a very structured treatment program but who also wish to live at home and continue with certain responsibilities (such as work or school). IOP substance abuse treatment programs vary in duration and intensity, and certain outpatient rehab centers will offer individualized treatment programs.
aftercare iconAftercare Support
Rehab aftercare programs support clients as they focus on maintaining their sobriety after intensive (often inpatient) treatment. These programs adhere to a model of life-long recovery, addressing addiction disease as a chronic, relapsing condition. Rehab aftercare services vary widely based on the specific and evolving needs of the client, but often include peer coaching, relapse prevention support, and 12 step program induction. Clients, case managers, and care teams typically collaborate on long-term care plans.
12-step icon12-Step
12 step programs support participants' psychological, spiritual, and emotional development as integral to sustained recovery. Though 12 step recovery programs are based on the belief in a non-denominational higher power, religious affiliation is not required. Group meetings are paper-led, anonymous, free, and available daily, including on holidays, in most communities. Peer sponsors selected by the participants provide one-on-one coaching and support. Specialized formats are widely available, including programming for youth, seniors, and families.
heart-hands iconIntervention Services
It can be difficult for family and friends to carry out a successful drug intervention in Washington on their own. Intervention services can help. These services typically include education about addiction and enabling behaviors, expert facilitation for interventions, and recommendations for appropriate treatment. Often, the involvement of intervention services can create a smooth transition into rehab.
medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
Medical detox is often the first step in addiction recovery and involves ridding the body of drugs and/or alcohol in a supervised inpatient setting. If you've become physically dependent on substances like alcohol, benzodiazepines (like Xanax), or opioids, quitting abruptly may cause uncomfortable or even dangerous side effects. In medically assisted detox, a team of medical professionals will help manage any potential withdrawal symptoms with the aim of keeping you as safe and comfortable as possible.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Effective drug rehab in Washington integrates care for the whole person, offering comprehensive solutions to addiction. Treatment methods address mental, physical, and relational aspects of substance abuse.

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.
lgbtq-program thumbnail image
LGBTQ Program
Recovery is most successful when clients feel accepted and validated by their peers and treatment providers. Facilities that offer LGBTQ-inclusive programming are committed to creating a safe space where everyone can grow and recover without fear of judgment or discrimination. They will have dedicated policies in place to create a safe and supportive environment that fosters free expression.
military-program thumbnail image
Military Program
Serving in the military is both mentally and physically challenging, and can result in trauma that persists even after combat ends. Military programs are tailored to the specific and often complex needs of active duty personnel, veterans, and military families. Clients often access these programs through the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).

Clinical Services

Often, substance use disorder originates with negative thinking patterns. Cognitive behavioral therapy in Washington is designed to help individuals change these patterns of thought, which leads to changes in behavior and freedom from addiction.

Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) is a highly structured form of therapy that teaches skills to help participants change negative thoughts and behaviors. Applying a philosophy of acceptance and change, you'll learn and practice these skills to break unhealthy patterns and establish healthy ones.

Group therapy is a safe space that offers you a confidential environment to openly discuss your challenges with addiction and the progress you're making without fear of judgment. Group therapy participants share responsibility for recovery, which fosters a collective commitment to sobriety.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Clinicians who apply motivational interviewing techniques engage with their clients as equal partners. This method avoids warnings and confrontation and instead allows clients to analyze their situation and explore their options. This technique is often used when the client feels unsure about their ability or desire to change.

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

Couples therapy can help a couple navigate their differences. By learning powerful interpersonal skills in therapy, the couple can work together to overcome challenges and change the direction of their relationship.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Life skills training in Washington involves relearning how to manage daily living. It boosts your abilities and confidence so you can overcome challenges both big and small, without returning to substance use.

At first these folks were awesome but I will never go back to this place. They terminated my medication without any prior consultation and that is unacceptable and a complete violation of any thing that resembles AMA guidelines. This left me in a very destabilized state and I do not like it at all. Note: They are extremely understaffed, all three of my therapists quit. There communication inferstructure is despicable.
