H. C. B. H was the first treatment facility I ever went to, I think I was just past my 18th birthday and had zero desire to obtain any length of sobriety. Be that as it was this facility gave me a solid idea of what it was too surrender to something greater than myself. Got to admit that I am forever grateful for the patience that their staff demonstrated with someone who is completely unruly and disruptive. It was a clean living situation from what I can remember. And the food was absolutely perfect for a recovering appetite.

Ocean Park WA, 98640
| Free by the Sea is a specialized and luxurious drug and alcohol addiction treatment center in Ocean Park, Washington. This rehab center is a short walk from sandy beaches and the Pacific Ocean, providing adults with a tranquil and peaceful substance abuse recovery environment. Free by the Sea is situated on five acres of land and is family owne | Treatments Programs Payment Options | Free by the Sea opened my eyes and saved my life. I would not listen to any of the negative reviews that I noticed on here. You have to come to the program with a willingness to change in order to get the wonderful treatment offered. The staff is amazing and has every clients health, integrity, and safety in their minds and care. The team is wonderful. As long as you want to change your life, you have to give in to some of the hard things that are required. 30 day residential for me was a blessing, and I am applying Friday to go back for the PHP and IOP programs.
The staff and owners expectations of you are not hard to manage if you put your mind to your treatment. The classes are eye opening, especially the Behavioral Health and Brain studies reviews. It helps you to understand your disease and how to manage it. Taking your life seriously includes steps that are mind challenging.
I completely loved my experience, was cared for, taken to a Doctor when it was needed, provided excellent meals, comfort during my stay, clothing, and other items I was lacking. They provide all hygiene products that are required. The extra classes and options for success are endless! They even go out of their way to provide you excellent transportation to and from the facility if you communicate with the admissions staff.
Sabrina provides my favorite classes! The art and especially the vages nerve classes she gave were so helpful in reopening my creative side and mind/body regulation again. I have stayed sober outside of the program, and I would suggest this resource and program to anyone who wants to change their life, live drug and alcohol free, and start over! They do not judge your past and many of the staff and counselors know first hand what you are going through. They do not take a high and mighty pose, instead they let you understand and share their stories of failures and successes to help you see you can overcome anything!
They have encouraged me in ways I didn't even know was possible! I wish I would have found FBTS many years ago, as it would have saved me from a lot of rollercoaster setbacks with my alcoholism. Put your mind and body back together in a wonderful setting. The property is an old beach resort and truly has a light hearted spiritual surrounding of nature and many blessings if you just open your heart and mind to the great experience you will have.
The meals provided are another high review from me. The kitchen staff is great, breakfast, lunch and dinner has many options, the menu is changed daily. Always salads available. Two refrigerators stocked with goods and left overs from previous meals to be eaten at any time. Full granola and cereal bar, many snacks, tea, juice machine and ice always ready. Some of the best food I have had in years, honestly high restaurant quality.
The walking track, pickleball, and men and women's lounge areas are where you can watch some TV or get some extra time with the friends you make there. You have expectations in this program and that is no different from any other situation in life. Give it a chance, change your life, get healthier while doing so.
Thank you dearly Free By The Sea staff, Sabrina, Jasmine, with high regards to Kimberlee, Kandi, Buddy, Regina, Amanda, Kedrick, Kathi, Alex, Brian, Lisa, Kurt, Courtney, and Matt!
Can't wait to get back and see all your loving faces soon!

Free by the Sea is my second treatment center. And, as a result of this program, I can truly say that I believe wholeheartedly that it will be my last. Besides the obvious, that it is set by the beach and a beautiful campus, the curriculum covered during my stay here taught me more about myself, my addiction, my trauma, and most importantly, my sobriety, than I could have ever thought possible. I do not say these things lightly. Free by the Sea taught me the importance of having a relapse prevention plan, and gave me the tools to create one. I leave here tomorrow morning, back to my husband and my life, with such solid and valuable tools to apply to my life and long-term sobriety! I can’t leave without giving a very sincere shoutout to ALL the staff who took care of me, made me feel safe, cared about, and important. Thank you, immensely, to each one, from my first step in admissions with Landon, to the front desk staff, Kandi, Kimberly, Amanda, Regina, Chanelle and Matt, to the competent and empathetic med room staff, Nyna and Courtney. The kitchen staff is amazing as well, and Kedric’s cooking is always delicious! I will forever be grateful for my experience here and the life changing and life affirming care I received. I cannot forget my counselor, Lisa, who listened, heard me, and helped me through this journey with an individualized plan. A huge thanks also to the other counselors who led the classes who gave me a wealth of knowledge; Eugene, Diane, and Brian. And, last but certainly not least, Jenn in admissions, Sabrina in art and well being classes, as well as the sweetest housekeeping staff of Debbie and Yurika! Also, my awesome transport dude, Alex, who took me to and from treatment! A heartfelt thank you, all of you, for collectively contributing to the rest of my life, sober!

Free by the Sea is friggin amazing!!!! Anyone who says this place is not good for you is selfish and NEEDS REHAB!!! This place changed my life, granted it was time for me to grow up, and I will always correlate this place with an amazing time and giving me my life back. Its been extremely comforting being next to the Ocean and, comparatively speaking, other treatment facilities that I've been to do not hold a candle. Amazing food, accommodations, and staff. Especially staff; understanding, responsive and the perfect combination of thick-skinned (to deal with us adult children) and compassionate. I love you guys.

This is hands down the best rehabilitation and recovery place in all of Washington state!!!! I went through their program and they not only gave me the tools to fight my alcoholism but they also focused on me as a person and my life. They helped me to identify the "Why?" I was drinking through outstanding counselors and very informative group sessions. I was able to identify and make plans to correct the areas of my life that either directly or indirectly affected my ability to stay sober. All of the staff are very friendly, understanding, caring, and knowledgeable people. They make make you feel very welcome and go out of their way and go up and beyond to help you and make you feel comfortable. The medical doctors and nursing staff do an outstanding job of taking care of all your medical needs and ensure every aspect of your physical health is addressed. The mental health and counseling department has very good counselors that are great at getting to the root of you as a person and identifying areas of ones self that need attention. The technical staff are very accommodating, friendly, and interactive with the clients which eases time there and makes you feel really cared for. The food is outstanding and on another level that you will not find at most, if not all, other facilities. Discover Recovery employs top notch chefs that are very accommodating and highly skilled. After eating here you will 100% miss the food and be hard pressed to find a restaurant that can match it's excellence. Last, but not least, the facilities are 1st class, spacious, well cleaned and very well maintained. This place not only saved my life but gave me what I needed to make my life better than it has ever been. I cannot thank them enough.

I had contacted this organization searching for support in a time of need. They are very willingly and happy to help! It was surprising to me that I didn't get turned down right away and wasn't asked very much questions about my situation. It shows me the staff are kind, compassionate people who truly care. Another big postive is that they are very fast at answering phone calls and returning emails in a timely matter, which I appreciated a lot. The only reason why I didn't give it a full 5 stars is because IMO I didnt feel quite as safe where the office is located traveling by myself. | In Chehalis Washington, American Behavioral Health Systems - ABHS provides intensive inpatient services, residential treatment and detoxification for substance use and co-occurring disorders. You will learn new skills and coping mechanisms in their residential treatment program to help you get by in your new drug free life. Depending on their needs | Treatments Programs Payment Options | Thanks to ABHS I'll have 1 year clean January 2nd, this place has its pros and cons but that's anywhere you go. Only thing that I would improve would be installing a few more phones on each floor 100 people fighting over 6 phones kinda sucked. Other than that The food was good and the staff were pretty cool.

I attended inpatient tx here in April 2019, after I caught 3 new charges alongside 3 active warrants from Mason, Lewis and Cowlitz counties. My attorney informed me I was ineligible for Drug Court, but encouraged me to try DOSA, and that ABHS in Chehalis was about to become co-ed. Upon my release, my best friend helped me pack a couple suitcases and even bought me stuff to last the 91-180 day time frame required for res DOSA. I called the facility to notify them I would be late due to a dead car battery; They were very understanding and thanked me for keeping them updated, and assured me I wouldn't be in trouble for my delayed arrival. I was finally able to show up at around 10 p.m., and every member of the care team warmly welcomed me and helped take my bags upstairs. Everyone involved in my intake was remarkably polite and friendly. They described what day-to-day life would look like, and led me through a comprehensive tour of the unit. During the inventory process, a few items I brought, like hair conditioner and hand sanitizer, were not allowed due to past abuse by clients to get intoxicated, which was reasonable. Each of my belongings was meticulously recorded on two separate lists in front of me: one for items I could keep and use, and another for items that had to be securely stored. Afterwards I completed a baseline UA, and they also conducted random UAs throughout our stays, especially when staff or other clients suspected potential use or intoxication, to ensure no one was high and no drugs were being used, countering the claims of "widespread drug use" from other reviewers on here. Our daily schedule was well-organized, starting with coffee at 4:30 AM and breakfast at 6 AM. The day's first Therapeutic Community (TC) meeting at 8 AM served as an update session where achievements were acknowledged, any issues were addressed, and motivational talks were given to energize us for the day ahead. At 9 AM, we alternated between group sessions with our counselors or study periods in the cafeteria, depending on our counselor's schedule. Lunch was at 11:30 AM, then at 1 PM we would either listen to one of the counselors/guest speaker, or we would have a free period. Dinner was at 4:30 PM, and the last TC meeting wrapped up the day at 6 PM, where we welcomed new intakes and congratulated graduates. Throughout the day, we were allowed two 15-minute phone calls, with daily sign up sheets with slots in quarter hour increments to ensure fair usage. On the weekends, we could have in person visits with people on our approved lists for up to 3 hours. Individual meetings with counselors were part of our treatment plans, which could span up to four levels depending on entry into the program; Level I completion is necessary for self admitted clients (BHO), level III for Drug Court and DOC clients, and level IV for DOSA. We had a movie room with a long list of titles, a giant TV screen with cable in the cafeteria, went to parks, did smudging and art projects. They also took us to DSHS and DOL. There is a dress code, and interactions with the opposite sex are prohibited to prevent "fraternization". Rooms were shared, with options for mattress or room changes if needed, and personal belongings were kept in large secured trunks. Medication requests were available via video visits with doctors, and whenever the whole floor got perfect room check scores, we got rewards like snacks or extra breaks. The head chef "Mama"'s meals were a highlight of everyone's days. I remember I asked her what her favorite part of the job was and she told me, " Seeing people gradually become healthier and happier over their stays here, and being able to provide the food to nourish them. That's why I put so much love into everything I make." All the staff, counselors, esp mine Ms. Baldwin, along with program directors Mr. Berry and Mr. Robinson, made it beneficial and enjoyable. I successfully completed DOSA May 2021! I deducted 1 star due to maintenance issues like broken showers and they frosted the windows which prevented us from seeing outside.
