About Family First Adolescent Services

This rehab program takes a holistic and individualized approach to addiction recovery. They emphasize building a connection of respect and understanding with the teenagers and getting them involved in their treatment planning.

Throughout your child’s program, they’ll have a well rounded variety of therapies and treatment strategies. They’ll have individual therapy and group therapy. They’ll have recreational and holistic therapies, too, like equine therapy as well as CrossFit, paddleboarding and group excursions.

You don’t have to worry about your child falling behind in school while they get the treatment they need. This rehab has an academic program on site, so they’ll be able to keep up with their education or even catch up or get ahead. This program focuses on identifying each child’s strengths and helping them work toward their future goals whether it’s college readiness or pursuing a trade.

I noticed that this treatment center has a big focus on your family, too, and not just your teen. There will be family therapy sessions throughout the program. They’ll work with you to help you understand your teenager’s challenges and behaviors and learn how to help them after they get home. Plus they have ongoing alumni support and aftercare treatment, so you always have someone to turn to for guidance.

Clients and parents have great things to say about this rehab center. They say that it strikes the right balance between compassion and accountability and that the staff here really understands teenagers and what they need for meaningful recovery. Parents also say that they were very happy with how well the staff here communicated with them during their sons’ programs.

My time here was traumatizing. Dependency only got worse, and I even manipulated a therapist to get out — a sign of how ineffective the care was (a good therapist cannot be manipulated). I lost weight, had constant nightmares, and when I was sick and asked for a simple cup of tea, I was told I could only have caffeine-free tea because “kids might snort the tea.” My only option was to suffer. The facility is unsafe, unsanitary, and deeply misleading. I witnessed glass being broken, plates thrown, and violent altercations. Kids are forced to sleep under camera surveillance and even change clothes in front of them — something that is not normal and feels deeply violating. Parents are lied to about the quality of care. Before visits or inspections, cleaners are rushed in to make the place look better than it really is. I personally saw Erin walk through and stage the facility before parents or other “inspectors” arrived. Erin also lied directly to my parents, telling them I was “the only gay person there,” despite the fact that I am openly gay. That kind of dishonesty is unacceptable. Meanwhile, kids were forming addictions inside. I saw peers “check” their Adderall and snort it. And I had to smell my shampoo to make sure no one had tampered with it — because someone actually did. That’s how unsafe and unhinged daily life was. To make matters worse, the owner James McManus promotes this program on Dr. Phil — who isn’t even a licensed doctor — which makes it clear this is about money and publicity, not real care. Three years later, I am still recovering from this experience. Your children will be locked up like dogs, and there is a very real risk they will come out worse than when they entered. I beg you: please do not send your kids here. summarize

Family first saved our son’s life . He has dual diagnosis and family first was his 5th treatment facility . The program truly dove into both substance use and mental illness. My son seemed to have light in his eyes for the first time after completing the program . Family first family therapy helped our family heal while our son was in treatment. The parent support groups are phenomenal. The team truly cares about youth . I can say our son got nothing but exceptional support/care . They went above and beyond planning and supporting aftercare . If you’re on sending your child here I can tell you they are in good hands . Our son found it so helpful he recommended it to friends that are struggling. Our son said “family first saved my life and taught me I’m worth recovery and worth healing “ Thanks

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

Rehab aftercare programs are a collection of highly individualized services designed to promote long-term recovery. These services evolve as your needs change. Case managers and recovery teams typically begin formulating the rehab aftercare service plan early in the recovery process to facilitate your reintegration back into the home, workplace, and community.

Often referred to as "day treatment," a partial hospitalization program (PHP) offers an intensive treatment option that allows individuals to return home at night. PHP treatment typically requires a minimum of 20 hours a week for an average of 90 days. Participants attend daily therapeutic sessions, receive medication management, and have access to skilled medical professionals. While costs can vary, most insurance will fully or partially cover a partial hospitalization program.

Treatments

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Clinical Services

Therapists who apply cognitive behavioral therapy in Florida believe patient thoughts and behaviors are closely linked. They use this treatment method to help clients change their thought patterns so they can also change behaviors and break free from substance abuse.

Dialectical behavior therapy in Florida consists of individual therapy and group instruction. This structured program is a form of psychotherapy that incorporates the development of skills for managing emotions and relationships.

Group therapy provides a safe and supportive environment for people in Florida who are struggling with drug addiction. There you can openly discuss the challenges and progress you're making without fear of judgment from your peers who experience many of the same things you are.

Individual therapy often includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. This is a structured approach to identifying and changing negative thought patterns. During therapy you learn how what you think drives your actions so you can develop healthier coping strategies to manage addiction triggers and reduce drug use.

As a short term therapeutic method, motivational interviewing in Florida requires only a couple of sessions. During these sessions, you'll have the opportunity to talk about your circumstances and any discrepancies between your current situation and future goals. You'll then decide for yourself what changes you want to make.

Trauma therapy helps you work through the psychological impact that traumatic events have had on your life. Your therapist helps you identify the physical, emotional, and mental triggers and develop coping mechanisms. This helps rebuild a sense of safety and trust in yourself and others.

Your mind, body, and emotions interact in complex ways. Experiential therapy addresses all three of these aspects. Interactive and creative activities provide physical sensations and evoke emotional responses. These offer insight into how you interact with the world and any negative patterns you need to change.

It is a warm and welcoming space to assist adolescent with a substance disorders and mental health issues. It was a lighthouse in a very dark time and is a wonderful option for families.
