About Intensive Treatment Systems

They accept same day walk-ins or you can book an appointment. They recognize that transportation may be a barrier to treatment and provide transportation when you contact them to coordinate.

They’ve been helping people manage their health for almost 30 years and work with probation departments, police, community partners and veterans to address addiction using an innovative approach that includes medication assisted treatment for those who have an opioid use disorder or alcohol use disorder. You’ll have round the clock access to treatment professionals that use evidence based treatments combining counseling, peer support and behavioral therapy in a whole patient approach to care. The integrated approach addresses your physical and mental health to provide a seamless treatment program instead of treating a group of symptoms.

They work to improve health outcomes including for those who have HIV, Hepatitis C or tuberculosis from their drug use. Their treatments also include peer support and they offer targeted programs for women who are pregnant and have a substance use disorder, veterans and psychiatric services for those with serious mental health conditions.

They accept a variety of insurance providers including Magellan, Banner University Family Care, UnitedHealthcare and Arizona Complete Care. They will verify your treatment coverage before beginning treatment and may offer financial assistance if you are uninsured or underinsured.

Whoever is answering the phones is a joke. A lady with a very rude attitude was very condescending and couldn't answer a simple question about an r.o.i then proceeded to hang up without answering the question properly. She repeated the way I worded my question with such an inappropriate workplace etiquette. I mean a simple yes or no could've sufficed but no, here we are patients ; paying patients at that! And being treated like we are less than!. Besides the people "answering" the phones; everyone else there has been outstanding 👏 👏 but its a shame that those kind of people are the ones initially representing you guys!

Matty was our social worker who came into my son's life at St. Joseph's hospital. My son at 33 has cirrhosis of the liver and alcohol abuse is the cause. With the patients and concerns from Matty, she was able to have my son enter a 60 day program. My son now wants to live and be alcohol free. Thank you Matty for being that angel.

Employee makes up a lie saying I was being rude then puts a hold on me so I can't dose. My consoler looks into it and reviews video and finds out it was a complete lie and person isn't even authorized to put holds on people only a couple people can put holds. So you confirmed it was a lie and she broke multiple rules besides, lying, fraud, and more and the most they are willing to do is you can make a grievance. Employees has mental problems and a grievance is all they are willing to do! Take your business any other center, but this business! Employees socialize more than they work! I had an appointment to see councilor and waited over an hour even though nobody was ahead of me. I never got see because councilor didn't care nor have time to see 1 person. Like I said socializing is there first priority. I needed to change doses I guess I have to do thier job and just stop coming just to get my dose reduced. They spend more time on cellphone than anything else!

Accepted Insurance

Intensive Treatment Systems works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient

Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.

aftercare iconAftercare Support

Rehab aftercare programs support clients' successful reintegration into their home, workplace, and community. Drug rehab aftercare presumes that recovery requires life-long support. These programs typically offer a wide variety of services customized for the clients' unique and evolving needs. Clients may receive vocational training and career counseling, housing assistance, legal aid, peer coaching, and 12 step program induction, among other services. Clients' case managers often play a lead role in rehab aftercare planning.

12-step icon12-Step

12-step programs are addiction recovery models based on Alcoholics Anonymous (AA). A number of substance abuse programs (including some drug and alcohol rehab centers) use the 12 steps as a basis for treatment. Beginning steps involve admitting powerlessness over the addiction and creating a spiritual basis for recovery. Middle steps including making direct amends to those who've been hurt by the addiction, and the final step is to assist others in addiction recovery in the same way. 12-Step offshoots including Narcotics Anonymous (NA), Cocaine Anonymous (CA), Dual Recovery Anonymous (DRA), Sex and Love Addicts Anonymous (SLAA) and Gamblers Anonymous (GA).

medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox

Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one's body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Drug rehab in Arizona is the process of treating individuals who are dependent on a particular addictive drug. Because addiction is complex, this treatment typically includes a variety of interventions that address the many physical and emotional issues involved.

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image

Adult Program

Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
young-adult-program thumbnail image

Young Adult Program

Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.
lgbtq-program thumbnail image

LGBTQ Program

Recovery is most successful when clients feel accepted and validated by their peers and treatment providers. Facilities that offer LGBTQ-inclusive programming are committed to creating a safe space where everyone can grow and recover without fear of judgment or discrimination. They will have dedicated policies in place to create a safe and supportive environment that fosters free expression.

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

In Arizona, group therapy helps promote accountability and motivation for men and women who want to stay committed to addiction recovery. It fosters a sense of community where you can share your progress and learn new coping strategies from your peers.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Motivational Interviewing (MI) is a clinical approach to helping people with substance abuse issues and other conditions shift behavior in positive ways. It is more goal-oriented than traditional psychotherapy, as MI counselors directly attempt to get clients to consider making behavioral change (rather than wait for them to come to conclusions themselves). Its primary purpose is to resolve ambivalence and help clients become able to make healthy choices freely.

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

Residents of Arizona who are experiencing relationship problems may benefit from couples therapy. This form of psychotherapy helps couples express their feelings, resolve conflicts, and increase intimacy and affection.

Family therapy involves sessions where members of the family discuss how addiction has affected them individually and collectively. Therapists can guide families in developing coping strategies that help support their loved one's recovery while also focusing on their own emotional health.

Life skills trainings involve all the skills a person must have in order to function successfully in the world. These include time management, career guidance, money management, and effective communication. Truly successful addiction recovery is based on the ability to not only live substance-free, but to thrive. Life skills teaches the practical necessities of functioning in society, which sets clients up for success in life, and therefore sobriety.

This hands down has to be the most uncaring unprofessional facility I've ever heard of instead of helping you stay focused on your sobriety they stress you out so much that it triggers you to use or they won't dose you for petty reasons the 2 times I've relapse was because of this place idk whats up with the new staff but I most definitely miss the old one the ones who actually cared about you staying sober.

Response from the owner

At Intensive Treatment Systems, our mission has always been to provide compassionate, evidence-based care to support every individual on their path to recovery. We’re deeply concerned to hear that you felt unsupported and stressed during your time with us. That is not the experience we strive to create, and we sincerely apologize if we fell short.

Relapse is incredibly difficult, and we want you to know that we never want to be a source of discouragement. Your sobriety and well-being are important to us, and we take your comments seriously. If you’re open to it, we’d appreciate the opportunity to speak with you directly and better understand how we can support you moving forward.

I recently completed the IOP program thru ITS. For me, this program was life changing and truly an unforgettable educational experience. I learned so much from Joey, he is an outstanding instructor, who is passionate about what he does. The way he presented the topics/material, and was able to share his own life experiences, made it much easier to actually open up and discuss issues that aren’t so comfortable topics to talk about. It was a great to know Joey truly cared about me and my peers success. This program was different from others i have tried. It made me feel like I wasn’t alone on my journey thru early recovery and gave me the confidence and tools needed to not only curb addiction, but overcome the past, and prepare for the future on both an emotional and physical level. I highly recommend this program!

If negative stars could be given, I would. The staff has changed to being a detriment to the people they are supposed to serve & unfortunately doesn’t serve anyone but their favorites. Allowing bad behaviors from some & not others, including their staff.

Response from the owner
Thank you, Lynn, for taking the time to share your concerns. We deeply regret that your experience with us has been anything less than positive. At Intensive Treatment Systems, our goal is to provide compassionate, equitable care to everyone we serve, and it is disheartening to hear that you felt otherwise.

Your feedback about staff behavior and perceived favoritism is taken very seriously. We strive to create an environment where all individuals feel respected and supported, and we will use your comments to evaluate and improve our services. Addressing these issues is a priority for us, as maintaining a safe and fair atmosphere for our patients is of utmost importance.

We’d greatly value the opportunity to understand more about your experience so we can address your concerns directly and work toward making things right. Please feel free to reach out at your convenience at 855-245-6350 and ask to speak to the clinic manager on duty. Your input will help us ensure that we are meeting the needs of all those who rely on us.

Thank you again for bringing this to our attention. We are committed to improvement and truly hope to earn back your trust.
