I just left this hospital, where I accompanied my husband, with horrible lower back pain.I was surprised with the good treatment. For what it's worth, he's always had it. Well, I had surgery at that hospital in September. What I did notice was a very favorable change because there were cubicles for patients where for their comfort and well-being, since when you go to a hospital it is because you are sick and you need to have your comfort, privacy and comfort so that the discomfort of having to be there is more pleasant.Today I saw big changes. We were treated by the very professional Doctor Mariela. All the services my husband received were very fast. I'm really very pleased.I think that all hospitals in our country and especially emergency ones should have their cubicles available to patients and in them they should be attended to and cared for by professionals. My husband was treated by the Doctor: Stephen Anthony Andreades, who was very professional. In short, very satisfied with the treatment and the changes that you can see today. (For good)To everyone there, Thank you for providing such good service.

Incompetent people in registration. I had an scheduled CT scan and had to leave because they claimed that they did not receive pre-authorization. I contacted my insurance and was told that the authorization was actually approved the week before and provided the number. Registration did not take the effort to search my records. I will be going to another facility instead.

This place tried to remove my honest review so I am back again to retell my story. What a group of cowards running this monstrosity of a hospital. Instead of worrying about possible defamation worry about improving your health care delivery to the public who rely on you!If I could give this place zero stars, I would. If you love your family dearly, DO NOT bring them to this hospital. This hospital is a building of medical malpractice. The trauma unit was beyond unprofessional. The nurses station resembled a happy hour socializing event. Laughing, loud conversations about personal life, security Guards flirting all while family members are anxiously watching their loved ones being thrown in a hallway for hours suffering of pain and discomfort. There was no immediate care nor any sort of comforting bedside manner towards the patient or concerned family members.Once transferred to the ICU, I had to witness a nurse asking a fellow visitor to aid with moving our severely wounded father from a wheel chair to a bed. What kind of safety protocols do these nurses follow? That is a major liability. My father had been complaining of pain in his ankle and it took this hospital two days to finally take an xray. The following day, I asked a new nurse assign to the case about the pain management plan and was unable to refer to when it was administered. She went 3-4 hours without checking on my father as he was bed bound and barely able to verbally advocate for himself. When I expressed my concerns, she wasn t apologetic at all or offered any sort of support and encouragement to trust their care. The physical care and trauma team couldn t come to an agreement of discharging the patient which kept the family in the air. No one from the teams would pay a visit to explain to the family and patient what the future care plans would be, all while being left in the dark. The physical therapist said they would come in 6 hrs but never came to ensure my father received any sort of movement from being in the bed for days. If you think this story is about to be over, you re mistaken. The pharmacy made errors in the out patient precipitations which resulted in another night stay in this horrific hospital. Had we not reviewed the medications prior to discharge, my father would have missed his morning dose of anti seizure medication which is life threatening. No one was willing to immediately correct this error until the following day. When we request to speak to a supervisor, they didn t even have the common courtesy to once again offer trust and an apology for the incompetence of their entire staff. Not only is this hospital lacking basic medical professionalism, the custodial staff is non existent. The bathrooms for visitors in Tower 3 has toilets clogged, urine on the seats, sanitary pads and wrappers on the floor and fecal matter left over in the toilets. Used medical gloves were on the floor in the elevator for 2 straight days. The chairs in the visitors waiting room are covered in stains. It s to burn your clothes after visiting this hospital.I will never return or encourage anyone to receive care from this facility. It is truly embarrassing that this hospital is a representation of what kind of healthcare is offered in south Florida. If you are in an ambulance, take the risk and rush to Baptist hospital.

When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Edit on 06/02/2025.... Surgery was on the 29th of May, is June 2nd and I'm home waiting for a WALKER that has yet to arrived due to the lack of detail, cohesiveness and professionalism of members of the Medical Center at Jackson South. I was advised that I would receive a call from their Care-Team to talk about what had transpired and I still waiting for the call. Will not be recommending the Hospital any time soon and plan to speak with my Ortho MD at UHealth in regards to the team at the Jackson South Medical Center. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Original Post 05/30/2025.......I would like to give a 5, honest. The service by the personnel was very attentive. With that said, the is a lack of cohesiveness - i had surgery on 5/29 - every member of the staff that I met asked me the same questions over and over again. And, it seems that listening and comprehension is not their strength - i had to leave the hospital without the walker and the medication. As I called to request information, I've been bounced multiple times as if no one knows who does what and who's in charge of what. I continue to check my insurance portal and there is no prescription placed for neither the medication or the walker. My review is not a reflection on the Dr.s is a review on Jackson South Medical Center

Front desk was extremely rude and dry but that’s nothing new here, one of the nurses said I could accompany my girlfriend inside just to get kicked out by another nurse two minutes later, she was very rude about it by the way. After being in there for nearly three hours for something as minor as a Perforated eardrum and when we finally do get attended the nurse looks at my girlfriend and says that she doesn’t really know what to do about that and proceeds to google it right in front of us. I wish I was joking. They charged us $300 and 3 hours of our time to do a google search that we could’ve done at home. Incredibly unprofessional place.

I went for mental health crisis and I was wearing a hijab. One of the Indian staff members displayed harsh animosity towards me because of my faith. I believe she may be Hindu. She appeared very disgusted by me when she huffs and puffs looking at me with a nasty face. I never show other faith followers mistreatment. I wasn't looking for feud. Its ironic she has the audacity to work in a customer service field. She has an issue with people who believe in one God it seems. She appeared surprised to know I was born in the U.S. Ignorance is the definition of spiritual bankruptcy.

On May 5 I had an appointment for 4 schedule heart exams sent by my cardiologist from Jackson South, at registration I was told I need to pay the full amount 647.00 on spot if I wanted my test to be done. They did not offer a payment plan or a % down or send a bill. I been to UM and Baptist and they always have offer me alternative of payment. I guess this hospital is money first,

The whole ICU team was amazing!!! Especially noteworthy were Jordan Whyte and Jenny. Jordan went way above and beyond. That seems to be his normal practice. I worked in hospitals for 8 years and I know the ins and outs. Please recognize Jordan in a special way. You need people like him. Rob

I was in for procedure last Friday, after the procedure my blood pressure went through the roof . I was sweating and had chills . The staff got me a wheelchair and rolled me out front to wait for my wife. I spent the next to 2 days recovering. The hospital did nothing to keep me or help me . They saw the condition I was in. I will never use this hospital again.

A good Emergency Room (ER) is characterized by its efficient operation, compassionate care, and ability to handle a wide range of emergencies. Key aspects include timely and accurate triage, skilled medical professionals, well-equipped facilities, and a focus on patient well-being. Jackson South ER severely lacks in all of these areas. I was waiting for a relative for 3 hours and witnessed how they do not even treat patients with empathy and respect. They did not provide emotional support during stressful situations but instead added to the stress with the nurse's sarcastic demeanor and rushing attitude. The actual facility of the ER is tiny, it's crowded and dirty. DO NOT RECOMMEND.

On sat march 8 i went to er with pain in my abdomen it turned out i had a big gallstone. i was admitted and stayed in ob med surge. I was supposed to have it removed the next day which was sunday but because of scheduling it got pushed back a couple times so i didn't have surgery until Wednesday that was the only issue. The surgeon Dr Collazo was the best, All the nurses i had were great. Especially the charge nurse Sonia. After i had the surgery my kids visited and left they left the call light where i couldn't reach it and i had to use the restroom so i called the charge nurse on the phone and asked for my pct. She came herself and helped me to the bathroom then back to bed.

I’m someone who doesn’t go to an emergency room unless I’m extremely sick or need stitches or broke a bone. I’m always admitted and that says it all! This morning I arrived at the ER with what I was convinced a very rare infection.. A bot fly larva in my ear. I walked in and said good morning, how is everyone doing today? They asked why I was there and between my description and their reaction, we were all laughing. I was taken back immediately and a wonderful nurse took a look and really couldn’t discern what was going on due to how infected my wound is. After reviewing my medical history everything changed immediately! What was a hilarious moment got serious. From the moment I entered EVERY interaction I had was incredible… I came in with comparatively speaking., something I thought was rare enough to warrant an ER that turned into concern for further investigation. NOTHING GOT PAST THEM! It’s medical professionals at this high level who have gotten me through 7 cancers , 5 of them life threatening. I can’t say enough about how much I love this hospital and the amazing medical staff. The ER is NOT a doctors office, these people are there to deal with seriously ill patients. Trust me they know immediately who should be there and who, if possible, could have gone to see primary care DR. I’ve been in this ER twice now. My first visit I walked in on Good Friday and said” I think the lord spanked me for going to the marina and drinking tonight, I’m pretty sure my arm is broken!” Everyone lost it, the laughter was contagious. They took me back immediately and yes a, severe break in 5 places…. They see gloom and doom everyday, so if possible, try to come in with a kind heart, patience and a smile. You’d be amazed at how a bit of gratitude no matter how horrible you feel is received.
