About Lexington Mental Health

Your treatment here will be based on whatever it is that you need including drug and alcohol addiction recovery. You’ll have individual therapy but you’ll also have group therapy where you’ll be with other people who are recovering from addiction. They have family therapy as well to help you and your family understand how they can support your recovery.

Something about this treatment center that I think is most notable is the fact that they’re both an addiction treatment center and a mental health treatment center. If you’re one of the many people who has a co-occurring mental health condition alongside your addiction then they can treat that here as well and they can make sure your addiction counseling and mental health treatment work together. They have psychiatric care too which means they can provide mental health medications if needed.

This facility serves adults as well as kids and adolescents. They even have specialized services for kids and teens too like a juvenile justice program and services that coordinate with your child’s school.

While this treatment center does provide an important service that the community needs the feedback isn’t very good. I noticed a lot of clients saying that they felt the care here was lackluster and that they would have long wait times when they needed more urgent care like a follow-up after hospitalization. Several clients also say that the clinic often cancels appointments with little notice. A lot of the feedback seems to be typical of a public facility that doesn’t get all the funding it needs.

This place genuinely does not care about patient care. I see now why their rating is so low. They treat mental health like an option and use the patients as revenue so by poor patient care they only get more money. Poor doctor’s care and negligence is causing me to suffer ! I call and get no resolution when it comes to my medication .. I have to call multiple times and beg to speak to a supervisor. I’m currently in active withdrawal because my doctor mistook one medication I’m not on as one I am on and didn’t give any refills so now I’m almost a week without my medication that I’ve been on for 10 years with serious withdrawal and in mental health crisis , constantly calling trying to speak to anyone to actually take me seriously and treat this as urgent. Honestly if I end my life bc I can’t take this mental and physical withdrawal feeling anymore it will be this facility’s fault. This place treats the mentally ill as a joke. If you love your loved ones you will find another facility to get mental help from.

Horrible ethics. My son was referred to them during a mental health crisis by our school and our family physician. The NP he saw was not the least bit helpful, and the counselor he saw that came to his school would cancel roughly half the appointments and never notified us. We had to cancel an appointment with their NP and call back to reschedule...when we called back to reschedule we were told that his file had been closed out and we would need to find care elsewhere. I would not recommend these people to anyone, especially those in serious need of mental health treatment

I’m sitting out here trying to get my first appointment and registered. I showed up on time for them to open and I was the first person here and there are two other people waiting and I still don’t see anybody in the office. The doors are closed and all the lights are off I drove 42 minutes to get here and I have a farm and a family to tend to at home. There’s no way that every single employee in this office does not show up to work today on the day that I need them to show up to work. Edit! I found the sign on the door, which is not the same as the schedule found online. They need to update their information online because they are not open at 8 AM. They are opened at 8:30 which would’ve been helpful to know that to begin with since I left my house at 7:15 to get here on time

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Sliding scale payments are based on a client's income and family size. The goal is to make treatment affordable to everyone. By taking these factors into account, addiction recovery care providers help ensure that your treatment does not become a financial burden to you or your family, eliminating one barrier to care.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient

Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.

Treatments

Mental health rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from mental illnesses like bipolar disorder, clinical depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, and more. Mental health professionals at these facilities are trained to understand and treat mental health issues, both in individual and group settings.

Programs

young-adult-program thumbnail image

Young Adult Program

Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.
lgbtq-program thumbnail image

LGBTQ Program

Recovery is most successful when clients feel accepted and validated by their peers and treatment providers. Facilities that offer LGBTQ-inclusive programming are committed to creating a safe space where everyone can grow and recover without fear of judgment or discrimination. They will have dedicated policies in place to create a safe and supportive environment that fosters free expression.

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

If you struggle with managing your emotions, dialectical behavior therapy in South Carolina might be a good method of treatment for you. This form of talk therapy helps you learn to accept yourself while working on changing unhealthy patterns of thoughts and reactions.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

Whether a marriage or other committed relationship, an intimate partnership is one of the most important aspects of a person's life. Drug and alcohol addiction affects both members of a couple in deep and meaningful ways, as does rehab and recovery. Couples therapy and other couples-focused treatment programs are significant parts of exploring triggers of addiction, as well as learning how to build healthy patterns to support ongoing sobriety.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

The most rude and unhelpful place I have ever stepped foot in. The woman basically called me a bad person and told me she couldn’t help us because we were 30 min after some cutoff point she had an attitude the whole time while speaking to me. She told me to not even worry ... Read More

I've been coming here for years and I got worse when my Dr. Retired and I had to switch dr.s on several occasions and that makes it worse because I get comfy with one then they change my Dr. So now I am starting with my 4th Dr. and start all over again. Still not on right meds. Have ocd, depression, anxiety, insomnia PTSD and afraid to leave my house. I don't ever sleep and that makes you sick and have even more anxiety. Have appt for 30th to see new Dr. for 2nd time. I hope they give me the right meds to help me if not I'm afraid I might die from all of it. Not to mention they have put me on antipsychotics when I'm not psychotic. They have also messed up my stomach from having so many different meds in me. Not the best place but what mental health place is in SC. This is the worst state for mental illness. My therapist Jessica is good though she listens and tries to help as much as she can. Oh and don't bother with the nurse he never calls you back. I have left numerous messages for him to call me back and I haven't heard from him since my appointment with him a month ago. Now if I still had my Dr. from when I first started going here I wouldn't have gotten so bad off Dr. Sena was great. She is the one who got me stabilized on right meds. It took her a while though. But she retired. That's when I went spiriling out of control and been to many hospitals. I just think they should have better communication skills when it comes mentally ill. They have gotten a little better since it all went virtual I can say that.

Had to stop seeing my therapist because she would quite literally cancel every other appointment. Not very helpful. Recently was supposed to have a psychiatrist appointment (back in November) but she has since twice rescheduled to next year. I definitely don't recommend this place, it's almost as if nobody actually cares and it's incredibly disappointing. I was also told I 'looked depressed' by nurse Dorian because I was wearing a sweatshirt and sweatpants.. I went to that appointment because the medication they put me on (an antipsychotic) caused me to experience intense boredom (a common symptom). She did not believe me and insisted I was depressed instead because of how I looked? For someone who works in the mental health field you should know better than to tell somebody that, nor does depression have a 'look'.

Do not do business with these Crooks! Charge you $300 for virtual visits that you have to go to the office for. I have 6 charges for my daughter just for the month of October that are over $700 total and never even saw a dr. Originally had medicaid and it was canceled 6 months ago from a mistake that was made on paperwork and rather than letting me know that I was going self pay and the cost of that, they waited until it was up to $3000 before they sent a bill. This place is wrong on so many levels!

Appointment was canceled due to staff member transfer and we were not notified. Front desk staff members were very rude and they were lying. We believe that the center is bias to minorities and the front desk and billing staff within the facility are unprofessional and there is a lake of good character.
