LRADAC was formerly called The Lexington/Richland Alcohol and Drug Abuse Council. LRADAC is a nonprofit that serves the residents of Richland and Lexington counties in South Carolina. Please take the time to hear my story that went from the tragic loss of my counselor ending with resilience, strength, and triumph, as I successfully completed the course. LRADAC’s Outpatient Program was absolutely amazing and truly helped me change my life. From the beginning, Brooke, who placed me in the class that was the perfect fit, showed genuine care and understanding that set the tone for everything that followed. My counselor, Arianna, was beyond incredible. Everyone in my class would agree she was made for this work. She poured her heart into helping us and genuinely loved what she did. She had recently gotten married and was starting a new chapter in her life....Then, in a moment that shattered us all, we walked into class one day and were told the devastating news: Arianna had been murdered by her husband, who then took his own life. The pain was unimaginable. Continuing the program without her felt impossible—but we knew Arianna would have wanted us to push forward. And with the strength of our group, and the incredible support from the staff, we did just that. A special thank you to Casey, our life coach, whose dedication and encouragement helped carry us through such a dark time. This program works. The people at LRADAC care deeply, and I will never forget what they did for me—or the amazing spirit of Arianna. If you’re considering getting help, give this place a chance. It might just save your life.

I would like to share my experience living at The Shepherd's Inn. I was living in my Apartment for 2 years in Atlanta.I am on Disability & was on The Ticket To Work Program.I got my Apartment thru Hope of Atlanta.I was Homeless for 5 years in Santa Monica,California prior to coming to Atlanta for work.I was working as soon as I was able to acquire housing.I had to buy clothes & food. The money the Government pays me is only $1200 per month.I moved into my apartment in 2021. I worked in 2021 &2022. My disability ended up getting Suspended because I went over the SGA amount. This happened in May of 2022. The Warehouse I was working for for 14 months went out of business. I was only making $12 per hour doing Production worker. I was not able to get another job because my cell phone was stolen. My casemanager was helping me apply for unemployment & Food stamps. The unemployment office keep telling my casemanger that we had to reapply for unemployment. We did this 2 times. He also applied for Food Stamps. I never received anything in my time of need.We had to get Rent & electric assistance. My rent & electric was paid but no food.I ended up going to jail in Gwinnet County for 3 rd Degree Forgery for 2 years. After I was released a homeless friend of mine told me about the Atlanta Mission. They have a 1 month & 6 month programs. When I did the intake I noticed that they were asking personal questions that was none of their business. They asked if I had a mental problem.I said no.They ask if I was taking medication & I said no.I just got out of jail.I did finally get to see a Doctor & get medication. If you tell them you have a mental problem you can only stay I month. Its a really great shelter compared to others I lived in.In the 6 month program you live for Free. They have a clothing closet to help you with clothes They also help you find a job &apartment.A friend of mine is in the 1 month program. He went to talk to Mrs.Kay about a extension. She said no.There is 2 things that they don't do but they should. They should gave everyone a monthly bus pass & $500 a month allowance while they are going thur the program. The staff is very professional is nice to me at all times.I am going to a better shelter in another State. It is a better program & the State has better medical services.

I’ve been a patient here since 2019. It’s now May 2023 and they’ve been through at least 4 different psychiatrists and the one I’m dealing with now is so unprofessional. I have had a reaction to the last two prescriptions she gave me and the latest one I reported two weeks ago and she still hasn’t gotten back to me with anything. She has not even gotten back with the nurse! The psychiatrist is located in Ohio. Why can’t they have a doctor in office?! I really feel like they care about my mental health. That is sarcasm. I’m infuriated right now.

I worked the program and graduated and God led me back to help lead other suffering addicts to freedom with our 12 step recovery program, our sober network, And help them find God. Sober Living America helped save my life and I know if it worked for me it will work for you. I have never been in a sober living, rehab or any other program that made me feel as welcomed and loved as I do here. Such an amazing program that errs on the side of Grace and understands what you are going through and will walk right beside you hand in hand loving you until you are ready to love yourself. My name is Tonya Owen and im leaving tomorrow from doing the 7 day detox and 14 day rehab here at Freedom and I couldn't ask for better personal experience. The counselors here not only listen but help you more than I have had the experience in the past. Granted, I've only been to one other but this place has opened not only my eyes but all the doors for me. They made sure I was set and comfortable in my next rehab plus took the time out to make sure I'm ready to leave and go on to the next stage. If anyone is needing any kind of help this place has everything anyone is wanting and needing. I highly recommend coming here and doing the full 21 day program without a doubt. I am from California, I spent 3 months at the facility. They definitely over charge you for treatment. Their facilities aren't the best....however there are some people here doing almighty work. One such person is Hakim. He is a counselor here. He is a good man with a good heart, he cares about people. I wish he would transfer to California and be my counselor there. He really helped to see many things in a different way. He's very passionate about his patients and the job he does. I would guess they don't pay him nearly enough for how valuable he is to this facility. I hope to see Hakim again one day. There is also Jay who is often the only nurse in the dispensery. Either way folks like them are rare in today world.

This is a response to the last review I see, the lady with a small star on her icon. Methadone is a safe medication, it stops withdrawals from illicit opiates and does not get the person in treatment "high", which allows the patient to get their lives back. Please educate yourself on methadone and methadone treatment centers.

Obviously the people saying "one addiction for another" has very limited understanding of this treatment and addiction. Yes, this treatment can take years. This verses cold turkey/abstaining is night and day with success rates. Or I like to call that the "just pray about it and hope" method. BTW it doesn't work. If it did, nobody would have an addiction. These people complaining are still failing drug test and trying to play the system. Eventually u have to admit defeat and surrender to ur recovery and stop trying to use illegal substances by counting days till ur testing is done or sneaking in urine or basically trying to manipulate ur recovery process. I promise u will get out of recovery what energy u put into it as well . Yes, there are a couple nursed that seem to not get we r patients and we pay thousands of dollars a year to be there and yet they treat us as if we r at the dmv. One is down right rude and doesn't even look at us. She will not speak to us u less ahe has to. We will not miss her when she goes we just really hope she leaves soon.

Hello, I was a Resident here for almost 2 years and I left 2025 June 27th, When I first got here it was rough, yeah and sure there was staff that weren't there for the kids and were there for the paycheck, but then you have the staff that were supportive and took time out of their day to talk to us and supplies while still remaining professional. I will like to give a shout-out to Derrick Falls, James Green, Jennifer Updike, Kayla Wentzky, Renee Little, Allison Clifford, Curtis Barnes. And Holley. Personally I see all these other reviews from pass residents and it does disgust me because all you have to do is follow the program and do what you are told. Also the food is great, this place could have served us residents crap if they wanted too. But overall, this place will break you, and rebuild you, but it's up to you how you want to be rebuilt.

I don't leave reviews... so the one and only review that I will leave will be for the place that gave me a hope when I had none. I went to this facility July 9, 2018. One of the instructors there said that he had never relapsed and when he picked up his chip he wasn't going back to have to pick it up again. This challenged me... I have been sober for 6 years now. This facility taught me surrender. It taught me humility. It gave me a soft cushion to land while learning these lessons about the terrible person I was. It offered me a hand to help me up... most of all... it gave me a plan of how to live and never get back into the condition I had gotten myself into. I carry the Big Book with me everywhere I go in my van with my now 3 children. I am a child of God, I am a wife, and I am a mother. Thank you Owls Nest Recovery... may you be proud of the difference you make in the world. You are making sober soldiers that carry this message to others. God is moving in this place... keep it up!

Home with a Heart is a men’s only, Christian facility in Liberty, South Carolina. They help with alcoholism and drug abuse at no charge, while centering around their faith in Jesus Christ. They are a non medical sober living home. You must be fully detoxed before being admitted. Home with a Heart is an eight-week Christian rehab program for me
The home has changed my life! 30 acres of holy ground where miracles happen daily. Truly a life saver for myself and hundreds of other men who truly want to recover from drug and alcohol abuse. Being willing and open is the key to this though. If you see negative reviews it's truly because the individual wasn't open to change and a renewal of heart and mind. Alex is like a father figure to me and I've made several brothers in Christ and recovery from the home. God is truly good all the time. It's up to US to be open to change and then walk into Gods will for our lives.

It's a great place honestly it's a learning experience mixed with a very caring person in charge. Umm the place is not a bad place, umm works with you if you want to work with them. I have never experienced a better opportunity or place to or experience God or even get clean on the middle of nowhere which is key but it's necessary to though
