Accepted Insurance

Lotus Behavioral Health works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient rehabs encompass multiple levels of care to facilitate clients' progress through their recovery journey. Clients who are stepping down from inpatient treatment may require intensive outpatient (IOP) treatment, which involves more frequent and substantive therapeutic interventions than does standard outpatient care. Outpatient centers typically provide extensive addiction counseling, including individual, group, and family therapy. Medication assisted treatment programs (MAT) and recovery-focused life skills training are also common in outpatient care.
aftercare iconAftercare Support
Rehab aftercare programs are a collection of highly individualized services designed to promote long-term recovery. These services evolve as your needs change. Case managers and recovery teams typically begin formulating the rehab aftercare service plan early in the recovery process to facilitate your reintegration back into the home, workplace, and community.
inpatient iconInpatient
Clients typically choose inpatient rehab when they are in early recovery or are experiencing a crisis that puts them at an increased risk of relapse. They reside at the treatment center for the length of their program, which may range from two weeks to more than 18 months, depending on the program design. Intensive psychotherapy is often the primary treatment modality, but clients in inpatient care may also receive holistic treatment and recovery-focused life skills training.
intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient
Intensive outpatient programs (IOP) involve frequent and robust therapeutic sessions for clients requiring high-level care. Clients may engage in a combination of medication assisted treatment (MAT), addiction counseling, recovery skills training, and holistic therapies for a minimum of nine and a maximum of 20 hours per week. Intensive outpatient rehab is designed primarily for persons in early recovery, those exiting detox or inpatient care, and those at an elevated relapse risk.
12-step icon12-Step
12 step programs support recovery through emotional, psychological, and spiritual development to address the root causes of addiction. These programs are peer directed, with participants regularly attending 12 step meetings, which are anonymous, free, and accessible day and night, year-round. Recovery is based on "working the steps" to understand the source of addiction, take accountability for one's life choices, and relinquish control for that which cannot be changed. Age-specific, gender-separate, and other specialized programs are widely available.
partial-hospitalization iconPartial Hospitalization Program
Often referred to as "day treatment," a partial hospitalization program (PHP) offers an intensive treatment option that allows individuals to return home at night. PHP treatment typically requires a minimum of 20 hours a week for an average of 90 days. Participants attend daily therapeutic sessions, receive medication management, and have access to skilled medical professionals. While costs can vary, most insurance will fully or partially cover a partial hospitalization program.
telehealth iconTelehealth
Telehealth offers many benefits for Florida residents. It lets you see your healthcare provider from anywhere. This saves time because you don't have to travel to a doctor's office or take time off work to get there. It also provides more options, because you can choose health care specialists who are located far from you.

Treatments

When a person has alcohol use disorder (AUD), also referred to as alcoholism or alcohol addiction, they experience withdrawal symptoms when they stop drinking. This physical dependence results from overuse of alcohol, which may be used as a coping mechanism or escape. Individuals who have AUD can overcome the alcohol addiction through alcohol rehab in Florida. This treatment process involves essential therapy and supports to help the individual achieve and maintain recovery.

opium iconOpioid Addiction

Drug rehab in Florida provides quality treatment to help individuals overcome dependency related to a wide range of addictive substances. Programs address both the physical and mental aspects of addiction in order to help you make a full recovery.

In Florida, dual-diagnosis addiction treatment treats mental health and substance use disorders concurrently to enhance successful recovery outcomes and improve overall health. Specialized rehab programs include medical detox, outpatient, residential treatment, and intensive outpatient programs. Using evidence-based therapies, like dialectical behavioral therapy or medication-assisted treatment, clinicians successfully treat dual-diagnosis addiction and mental health conditions. Other activities include group therapy and skills training, to equip you with the skills required to achieve and sustain your recovery.

In Florida, substance abuse treatment focuses on treating mental health and substance use disorders concurrently to improve recovery outcomes and overall health. Levels of care include medical detox, outpatient, residential treatment, and intensive outpatient programs. Clinicians utilize evidence-based therapies such as dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) or medication-assisted treatment, group therapy, and skills training activities. This comprehensive approach to treatment helps to ensure sustained recovery.

When you have a mental health disorder and an addiction, it's known as a co-occurring disorder. Since treating both conditions at the same time is critical, you'll want to seek out a dual diagnosis treatment center. These specialized rehabs offer the care needed to overcome both disorders, which drastically increases your chances of success in long-term recovery. Types of therapies provided tend to include individual and group counseling, relapse prevention education, coping skills training, and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT).

Programs

teen-program thumbnail image
Teen Program
Teen programs are designed to address the unique pressures teens face, pressures that can drive them to experiment with dangerous, addictive substances. They need programs that meet them exactly where they are and give them tools for long-term recovery. Therapy can help teenagers understand and work through underlying issues so they can reclaim the life ahead of them.

Clinical Services

Group therapy provides a safe and supportive environment for people in Florida who are struggling with drug addiction. There you can openly discuss the challenges and progress you're making without fear of judgment from your peers who experience many of the same things you are.

Individual therapy often includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. This is a structured approach to identifying and changing negative thought patterns. During therapy you learn how what you think drives your actions so you can develop healthier coping strategies to manage addiction triggers and reduce drug use.

During family therapy sessions, you navigate the complexities of addiction and are provided tools to help improve communication and resolve conflicts. When you work together, families can better support their loved one's recovery and restore balance and harmony within the household.

Trauma therapy helps you work through the psychological impact that traumatic events have had on your life. Your therapist helps you identify the physical, emotional, and mental triggers and develop coping mechanisms. This helps rebuild a sense of safety and trust in yourself and others.

Therapists who apply cognitive behavioral therapy in Florida believe patient thoughts and behaviors are closely linked. They use this treatment method to help clients change their thought patterns so they can also change behaviors and break free from substance abuse.

Life skills are the core skills you need for daily success. They can include self care, stress management, daily routines, and emotion control. Rehab treatment includes the development of these skills so you have the tools you need for long term recovery.

Dialectical behavior therapy in Florida consists of individual therapy and group instruction. This structured program is a form of psychotherapy that incorporates the development of skills for managing emotions and relationships.

Your mind, body, and emotions interact in complex ways. Experiential therapy addresses all three of these aspects. Interactive and creative activities provide physical sensations and evoke emotional responses. These offer insight into how you interact with the world and any negative patterns you need to change.

Substance abuse creates biochemical imbalances in your body and brain. By implementing dietary changes, you can restore that balance. This is the goal of nutrition therapy in Florida. You'll gain an understanding of what nutrients your body needs and learn best self care practices.

Optimal eating disorder treatment in Florida involves a multi disciplinary team. This includes a primary health care provider, a dietician, and a mental health professional. This ensures that treatment addresses the physical and behavioral aspects of the eating disorder.

Types of creative arts therapy in Florida include playing music, writing poetry, journaling, dancing, painting, and sculpting. These expressive activities can help you process emotions and work through challenges with the guidance of a creative arts therapist.

Recreational therapy helps you recover from addiction by giving you structured activities that promote your physical health and mental well being. These activities could range from sports and fitness to creative arts and provide a constructive outlet for your emotions and stress.

Rational behavior therapy is used in addiction treatment to teach you to challenge and change irrational beliefs and thought patterns that contribute to substance abuse and addiction. Using cognitive and behavioral techniques, your therapist teaches you to manage negative emotions, reduce your cravings, and maintain your sobriety.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I have been in this field for over 20 years, and finding a program as exceptional as Lotus Behavioral Health is rare. I sent my son here a couple months ago and it turned out to be a nightmare. If your child has behavioral problems and mental health issues this is not the place for them. The staff doesn't know how to deal with these issues. The staff told my son one night that if he didn't like being here he should just walk out the front door and the police would take him home. So we get a call from the police telling us to come pick him up as he was waiting outside instructed by the night staff. I find this crazy that the staff would tell my son who has mental health issues to just leave but he did thank God he just waited out front for the police and for us to pick him up.

In general, an effective rehabilitation program should focus on the individual's comprehensive well-being, with a qualified team and evidence-based strategies. The key to success is in the personalization of treatment and continuous follow-up. If you have a specific program in mind, tell me and I'll analyze it in more detail

I am forever grateful for the transformative experience my child had at Lotus Behavioral Health. From the moment we stepped through the doors, we were enveloped in a warm, nurturing environment that immediately put us at ease. The staff's genuine empathy, compassion, and dedication to each individual's well-being are truly remarkable. Every team member seems handpicked to create a cohesive, supportive unit that provides constant care and guidance. They foster a positive, engaging atmosphere that encourages growth, healing, and self-discovery. The sense of peace and tranquility that permeates the facility is palpable, and I knew instinctively that my child was in capable, caring hands. The staff at Lotus Behavioral Health are the embodiment of excellence. Michele’s passion, expertise, and unwavering commitment to her work are inspiring. She is magical! Markus's unique blend of charisma, humor, and kindness makes him an exceptional therapist who truly connects with each child. Markus is a rare gem who we adore! Emmanuel's gentle, loving approach has a profound impact on the kids, while Nadine's bright, sunny disposition illuminates the entire facility. Gabriel's exceptional skills and compassionate nature make him an invaluable asset to the team. Christie's warm welcome and caring demeanor set the tone for a comforting, supportive experience. While I wish to acknowledge each staff member's remarkable contributions, I must emphasize that every individual at Lotus Behavioral Health plays a vital role in creating a holistic, healing environment. My child emerged from this experience a completely transformed person, and I am deeply thankful for the constant support, guidance, and love that was received during my child’s time at Lotus. This extraordinary organization has become like an extension of our family, providing ongoing care, encouragement, and reassurance long after our initial visit. Lotus is a great place! It was our child's first time in a rehab facility, so we have nothing to compare to, but he had a good experience. They do group sessions two times a day, and individual therapy once a week (but could be more as needed I think). Family therapy too. It was an emotional experience sending our child there, but we did feel he was safe there and well taken care of. They do have quite a bit of free time(of course a bht/therapist/admin always present), for good or for bad. I know they are encouraged to use it well. They have around 1 arranged activity every day, like dog therapy 🥰, yoga, and music lessons (my child loved this part), horse therapy field trips etc. Your kid will beg you to bring them home but stay strong, they will learn a lot there even if they say they want to come home and don't like it. It is an "open door" facility which is nice because they don't feel quite as trapped. My child said the food was pretty meh, but that's okay. There were some downfalls that we didn't like as much, but the administrative team was always pretty responsive. So I give five stars, because I think it's one of the better facilities (caring staff) but it wasn't perfect in everything, just like many things. Nursing staff was great. Stay strong parent, take the step you need to for healing!

Response from the ownerInvalid relative date format:
Thank you for your honest and thoughtful review! We know how emotional and challenging this journey can be for parents, and we truly appreciate your trust in us. It’s wonderful to hear that your child benefited from our therapy sessions, activities, and caring staff. We’re always striving to improve, and we appreciate your feedback. Wishing your family continued strength and healing—thank you for sharing your experience!

I cannot say enough positive things about Lotus Behavioral and their inpatient adolescent program. From the moment I walked through the doors, I was struck by the incredible attention to detail in their setup and the cleanliness of the facility… it’s clear they prioritize a safe and supportive environment for their patients. Having worked in the mental health and substance abuse field for over 10 years, owning my own mental health program, and having my own personal journey through these struggles, I have a unique perspective on what it takes to create a truly impactful program. What stood out the most to me, beyond the impressive program itself, was the heart and passion of the CEO. You can tell that he genuinely cares about the work being done here, and that passion trickles down to his team. Everyone I encountered exuded warmth, empathy, and a true dedication to helping others. I wouldn’t hesitate for a moment to refer an adolescent to this program. Lotus Behavioral has created something truly impactful… a place where compassion meets professionalism, and where young people can find hope and healing. Highly recommended!

When considering the impact of Lotus, the quote, “A team is only as good as its leader” comes to mind. In that vein, I don’t think you can truly understand Lotus until you know its leader and Executive Director, Gary Hazy. I worked with Gary for eight years and have known him for ten years. During that time, I have personally experienced Gary to be kind and compassionate while also being a tenacious leader. When it comes to doing what is right and best for kids, Gary has high expectations for himself and his staff. He does not accept excuses but is also there to support you every step of the way. Unfortunately, I do not work with Gary any longer. However, I checked in with him when I heard a hurricane was forecasted to hit Orlando. It was no surprise to me to hear that Gary was at work with the kids and staff riding out the storm. Although all he had to sleep in was his office chair, he never complained about that once. Instead, he talked to me about his worries for the kids and their safety; he talked to me about his staff acknowledging their sacrifices to be there with the kids. To me, this illustration encapsulates who Gary is as a leader. He walks with you through and into the storm to ensure that kids are being well taken care of. With someone like this at the forefront of Lotus, it is without question that children are receiving services of the utmost quality.

Response from the ownerInvalid relative date format:
Thank you for your thoughtful words and for recognizing the leadership that makes Lotus what it is. Gary Hazy’s dedication and compassion set the foundation for the work we do, and your story is a perfect reflection of his unwavering commitment to the kids and staff. His leadership ensures that every child at Lotus receives the highest level of care, no matter the circumstances. We are honored to continue this mission and truly appreciate your support!
