About Mountain Lakes Behavioral Healthcare

Mountain Lake Behavioral Healthcare – Cedar Lodge provides mental health and substance use treatment in Gunthersville, Alabama to adults, adolescents and children. They work with many local, state and nationwide agencies to ensure they provide the best services available. They are located right off the Florida Short Route and near the Tennessee River. They do provide a sliding fee schedule and will not deny you services due to inability to pay.

Care At Cedar Lodge

This facility is their Level 3 residential program. This program will provide you with care that is both clinically managed and high intensity. You will need a psychosocial assessment to determine if this is the best level of care for you.

You will be in treatment for about two to three weeks. During your stay, you will attend psychoeducation, counseling and peer support services. I like that they focus first on clients who are pregnant or have an intravenous substance use disorder. They do not provide medication assisted treatment but they can refer you to local physicians that whom they are partnered with.

Other Services Offered

What stood out to me is that they offer geriatric services. They can provide mental health services to the elderly who are in nursing homes. They work with the physicians and interdisciplinary teams in the nursing home to help with depression, anxiety and bipolar disorders, to just name a few.

Through their community treatment programs, outreach services are provided to eligible clients. The services they are able to provide are case management services, adult in home services and assertive community treatment.

I wouldn't leave a single star, if that were an option. Don't waste your time if you are TRULY needing help with your mental health!! Save up the money to see a licensed Psychiatrist, not a nurse or whatever acronym they call themselves CRNP, CPNP, it all means the same thing NOT a PSYCHIATRIST!!!!!!

This facility all but ignored me. On Monday I was scheduled to report to this facility the following Thursday I drove 45 minutes and got lost. I called several times with no response. I got there at 12:10 pm and was to to reschedule because no nurse was available. This place was very unfriendly, I felt I was treated bad because they realized I was African American. That's the vibe I got as soon as I entered the door. Then the man said they been calling you all morning. A lie is not taken lightly in my sobriety.

The person I took to this facility DID NOT want to go but he needed help so he dealt with it, and he was glad he did by the time he was released. The counselors were knowledgeable and guided them from experience instead of preaching about things they had no clue about. Thank you Cedar Lakes for what you are doing to help people with nothing left in them.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Sliding scale payments are based on a client's income and family size. The goal is to make treatment affordable to everyone. By taking these factors into account, addiction recovery care providers help ensure that your treatment does not become a financial burden to you or your family, eliminating one barrier to care.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

inpatient iconInpatient
Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.
aftercare iconAftercare Support
Rehab aftercare programs are designed to provide support to you after completing an addiction treatment program. These programs are highly customized and evolve with your changing needs. You'll partner with staff at the treatment center to identify any specific medical, behavioral, and social services needed to support your sustained sobriety. Aftercare services may include peer coaching, career counseling, and other personalized support.
partial-hospitalization iconPartial Hospitalization Program
A partial hospitalization program (PHP) provides comprehensive treatment to those who do not require 24/7 monitoring and offers a higher level of care than outpatient programs. Often referred to as "day treatment" patients typically attend sessions a minimum of 20 hours weekly, allowing clients to return home each day. PHP treatment is often covered by insurance and can provide daily therapeutic sessions and services such as relapse prevention and medication management.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Drug rehab in Alabama provides medical or psychotherapeutic treatment for drug dependency. Methods of treatment often include a combination of medication, counseling, and recreational therapies.

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

The goal of cognitive behavioral therapy in Alabama is to lessen the symptoms of certain mental health conditions, including substance abuse and co occurring mental health disorders. It is known as one of the most effective means of treatment for these conditions.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Rehab treatment in Alabama often involves motivational interviewing (MI). This is an evidence based approach that helps you discover your own interest in change. You'll decide for yourself what next steps you're willing to commit to in order to reach your goals.

Trauma therapy helps you process and heal from traumatic events. Your therapist provides a safe space for you to explore emotions, develop coping strategies, and integrate the traumatic experience into a more coherent narrative. This helps to promote long term mental health.

If you're experiencing relationship challenges, couples therapy in Alabama can help you work through those difficulties. You and your partner will meet with a professional therapist to work on current issues and strengthen your relationship.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Life skills trainings involve all the skills a person must have in order to function successfully in the world. These include time management, career guidance, money management, and effective communication. Truly successful addiction recovery is based on the ability to not only live substance-free, but to thrive. Life skills teaches the practical necessities of functioning in society, which sets clients up for success in life, and therefore sobriety.
