I was in the ER because I had a swollen foot and leg. They did not do any tests or check really anything. They requested an ultrasound to check for a blood clot but the person that does them took forever to arrive at the hospital. Once she did arrive she proceeded to hurt my already injured leg without any regard for how much it was hurting me. I was in literal tears. Worst experience ever. Not only has the swelling gotten worse it now on my other foot.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient rehab programs enable clients to integrate addiction treatment with their routine work and home life. Many facilities offer virtual services and evening, night, and weekend sessions to accommodate clients' schedules. Outpatient care typically includes rigorous psychotherapy, including group and family counseling. Most programs also prioritize addiction education and recovery-focused life skills training. Medication assisted treatment (MAT) is common for clients with alcohol and/or opioid dependency.
inpatient iconInpatient
Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.
aftercare iconAftercare Support
Clients receiving services in a rehab aftercare program have generally been stable and sober for a period of weeks and months and no longer require high intensity treatment. Many have stepped down from inpatient rehab to outpatient treatment. Others have been discharged from formal treatment but need support in maintaining their sobriety. Clients typically work with their case manager and care team to develop a long-term care plan that aligns with their unique needs and goals.
heart-hands iconIntervention Services
If your friend or family member is suffering physically or psychologically from substance use but denies there is a problem, it might be time for a drug intervention in Utah. This process involves meeting with an intervention specialist from a facility's intervention services program. This specialist will interview family members to gain an understanding of the situation, then facilitate the intervention. Their expertise can prove invaluable in navigating this complex confrontation.
medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
Medical detox is the safest way to remove addictive substances from your body under the care of medical professionals. In an inpatient environment, you'll be monitored 24/7 by doctors, nurses, and clinical experts, who will help keep you as safe and comfortable as possible and administer medication if needed to treat any withdrawal symptoms. The process may take up to a week or longer depending on your needs, and is often at least partially covered by insurance.

Treatments

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

Mental health rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from mental illnesses like bipolar disorder, clinical depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, and more. Mental health professionals at these facilities are trained to understand and treat mental health issues, both in individual and group settings.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.
lgbtq-program thumbnail image
LGBTQ Program
Recovery is most successful when clients feel accepted and validated by their peers and treatment providers. Facilities that offer LGBTQ-inclusive programming are committed to creating a safe space where everyone can grow and recover without fear of judgment or discrimination. They will have dedicated policies in place to create a safe and supportive environment that fosters free expression.
military-program thumbnail image
Military Program
Serving in the military is both mentally and physically challenging, and can result in trauma that persists even after combat ends. Military programs are tailored to the specific and often complex needs of active duty personnel, veterans, and military families. Clients often access these programs through the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

Whether a marriage or other committed relationship, an intimate partnership is one of the most important aspects of a person's life. Drug and alcohol addiction affects both members of a couple in deep and meaningful ways, as does rehab and recovery. Couples therapy and other couples-focused treatment programs are significant parts of exploring triggers of addiction, as well as learning how to build healthy patterns to support ongoing sobriety.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Active addiction can quickly lead to malnutrition. This makes recovery even harder because your body doesn't have the nutrients it needs to function. During nutrition therapy, you'll learn about the effects of substance use on the body, how food can help your mental health, and how to maintain a nutritious diet.

Recreational therapy helps you in your addiction recovery program by improving your overall well being. Activities can include sports, music, and nature excursions that give you positive experiences, reduce your cravings, and offer the opportunity to reduce your stress. These aid in your addiction recovery.

Experiential therapy is a form of therapy in which clients are encouraged to surface and work through subconscious issues by engaging in real-time experiences. Experiential therapy departs from traditional talk therapy by involving the body, and having clients engage in activities, movements, and physical and emotional expression. This can involve role-play or using props (which can include other people). Experiential therapy can help people process trauma, memories, and emotion quickly, deeply, and in a lasting fashion, leading to substantial and impactful healing.

When your body no longer gets nicotine from cigarettes, you will most likely experience withdrawal and craving symptoms. Nicotine replacement therapy is designed to ease these symptoms so you are more comfortable and less likely to relapse.

I was there on a particular busy weekend. The wait time to refills or requests was a bit longer than usual, but for how busy the hospital was for deliveries, I thought they handled all my needs good. Overall, I felt like my needs were being met. After delivery of by baby they were considerate of my pace, questions and needs.

Response from the ownerInvalid relative date format:
Lisa Hancock, thank you for your feedback and positive comments. We want to apologize if you had to wait longer than anticipated. We appreciate you taking the time to leave us this feedback as it helps us identify ways we can better serve our patients in the future.

I really like this hospital. I was treated very well. The staff are all very nice people. Housekeeping is great. Dr. Farley does an excellent job. He listened to my complaints and said, "Let's fix it." And, he did. The nurses and CNAs all treated me excellent. Never went without anything that I needed. The food was excellent. Good meals, great choices and plenty on the plate. I tell everyone that this hospital ranks right up there.

Susan, thank you so much for your kind words! Your feedback means a lot to us, and we’re grateful to have been part of your journey.

Edited for more info: Found the billing agency, Emergency Physicians Integrated Care on Google and my goodness the 100% 1 star reviews say it ALL. Countless reviews stating that they send straight to collections without prior notification to the patient, that they are near impossible to get in contact with or to get any action from, that they constantly engage in shady practices, and MUCH more. Stay FAR, FAR away from any hospital associated with this billing agency. Leave reviews if you’ve worked with them, PLEASE don’t let people fall for their scams Another edit: Forgot to add that the hospital itself is very complicit in the fraud. When you call the billing department with the hospital, they’ll tell you the bill has nothing to do with them, they have no idea who the billing agency is, how to get in contact with them, literally anything. Utterly unhelpful and very suspicious how disconnected they are from the billing agency. I repeat, do NOT go to this hospital Either incompetent or completing fraud. We had a medical injury auto claim that our insurance paid to the hospital and we were informed of this multiple times. Still, we’re getting notifications that the bill hasn’t been paid, the insurance needs more information ect. The insurance has not contacted us for further information and every time we have contacted the insurance, they reassure us that it’s all been paid and completely taken care of. Fast forward months later, we are still getting contacted by this hospital, when they should have been dealing directly with the insurance. Called them today and spoke to the billing supervisor(Letia? Letitia? Something) Same thing, “oh they haven’t paid it, oh they need more info from you, ect ect) Again. Our insurance has informed us numerous times that the bill is paid, it’s all taken care of, and if the hospital has any issues they would be contacting the insurance directly. But of course they haven’t been dealing with the insurance(the only thing the insurance is hearing about it is directly from us, even tho the emails the hospital’s billing agency is sending us are claiming that they’re filling claims to the insurance and trying to get more info from them) While dealing with the billing supervisor, I was trying to get the point across that to our knowledge this has been completely paid for and taken care of, and if the hospital has any issues they need to contact the insurance directly and stop contacting us. She then said they would reach out to see if the bill was paid….great thanks….thats what you should have done months ago. Immediately after this phone call, we called our insurance again, and within two minutes they confirmed that they paid the billing agency, immediately had the date they paid it and that it was marked as paid by the billing agency months ago! But not surprisingly, it has not been cashed by the agency…….makes sense. The insurance also informed us that if the billing agency of Mountain View hospital continues to contact us regarding this, to not engage and direct them to our insurance(which again, is what the agency should be doing this entire time) Frankly, my guess is that the agency hopes/knows that a lot of people are uniformed and will just pay it themselves in an effort to get it taken care/stop harassing them, so that they can get double payment. Also interestingly, we have family members who have had an almost identical situation, where the insurance paid and maintained that they had paid, and the billing agency continued to harass them until some very strongly worded phone calls and they finally admitted they had been paid. So, this is a very common occurrence and people really need to be aware so they don’t fall for this trap. The doctors are great I’m sure and they have no control over what the billing agencies of the clinics they work at do. But unfortunately, I can’t in good faith recommend or stay quiet on the suspicious activity that many people have fallen victim to.

Response from the ownerInvalid relative date format:
We are very sorry to hear about this experience. Patient satisfaction is important to us at Mountain View Hospital, so we will make every effort to address any concerns. It appears that the billing issues you are experiencing are tied to the ER physicians who bill separately from the hospital. Either way, these comments have been shared with our hospital Director of Patient Access, Tony, who should be able to help you get to the bottom of it. If you would like to speak with Tony directly, please call 801-465-7231.
