Avenues was a promise that I’ll never forget! I was very impressed with the organization as a whole. From the time I started to the end each staff member was concerned and involved in my and my peers treatment. The community atmosphere was full of embrace and encouragement! Peer to peer relations were the biggest part of navigating connection in building a firm foundation of recovery. Each group and activity left me with tools to help my life journey of recovery. This promise was the depths to surrendering my addictions and I recommend this program to those seeking real change!

Other Forms of Payment

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

Detox can be dangerous if not properly supervised, making 24-hour clinical care in Colorado an essential tool in the recovery process. The constant monitoring by medical professionals helps individuals through critical stages of recovery. Medical professionals and addiction specialists are available 24/7 to provide medications that ease withdrawal symptoms and to treat any other issues that arise.

The process of medically assisted detox usually takes place in an inpatient setting while under the 24/7 care of a team of licensed medical professionals. It's considered the safest way to rid the body of all addictive substances and prepare you for a transition into either an inpatient program or various forms of outpatient rehab. The program length varies depending on your needs, but it typically takes about 5-7 days.

Addiction recovery based on a 12 step program model is rooted in peer support and spiritual development. Participants regularly attend 12 step meetings, which are free, anonymous, peer-led, and available throughout the day and night in most communities. Clients' recovery is achieved progressively as they work through the 12 steps, which teach them to understand and address the root causes of their addiction, become accountable for their choices, and relinquish control over that which cannot be changed.

Clients entering an inpatient rehab typically require more intensive treatment than those in outpatient care. Clients often start inpatient treatment immediately after completing a detox program. Upon admission, they engage in extensive psychotherapy, receive recovery-focused life skills training, and participate in evidence-based complementary therapies, such as meditation, massage, acupuncture, and/or animal, creative arts, recreational, and experiential therapy.

Clients engaged in a rehab aftercare program have completed active addiction treatment and are receiving services designed to promote their sustained sobriety. Drug rehab aftercare typically encompasses a wide variety of medical, mental health, and social services meant to facilitate clients' reintegration into their home, workplace, and community. Clients typically collaborate with their case manager and/or recovery team to identify and access the services they need, often including peer coaching, career counseling, and care referrals.

This is not a good rehab. The good reviews are definitely a scam. My child went here. The people at Avenues lie and try to keep you for 45 days or more, when admissions says you can just do detox or 30 days. The stories of fights, people breaking things like windows, inside drug deals, overdoses, seizures, suicide attempts… Not the safe calm place a facility should be. People escape by trying to run off the property and they chase after you like it’s a jail. Then they hold peoples belongings for 24 hrs and make them figure it out no phone, no wallet, no belongings? Some of the kinder staff are aware and said they’re likely to get shut down. Apparently many people are trying to sue. This place also restricts phone calls with family, so patients can’t tell their families how bad it is. I recommend seeking out better treatment facilities that accept Medicaid for your loved ones like Cedar. I’m sure the staff will reply to this with their same lies on other posts. Trust me, it’s BS. This place should not be operating, and I hope the folks are right that it’s getting shut down soon. Addicts shouldn’t have to try to recover in that kind of stressful chaos.

Response from the owner
Hi Jenny,

We're sorry to read this review. Please know that we work constantly to give every client the most serene, rewarding, and effective treatment experience we possibly can.
After an initial 6-day blackout period, clients receive weekly phone calls. Even during the initial period, calls are made with staff to loved ones or outside parties to address any needs.
We offer biweekly visitation for family and friends.
We engage clients when they attempt to leave property, because we care for their wellbeing and know the incredible dangers of substance use disorder.
Our campus is open, with easy access to multiple methods of public transportation - so people can leave if they so choose. Sobriety is a path that must be chosen daily.
We are a medical detox and residential addiction treatment center, where medical and psychiatric issues are common. We have medical staff on hand 24 hours a day to address any issues that may arise.

Wishing you the best in every endeavor,
The Avenues Team

I will start by saying avenues isn’t so bad the most amazing part was the facilitators and my therapist Heather. Most of the employees are kind and really enjoy their job. Only BHTs I had problems with was David he was always rude and very unhappy with his job. Food? Not so great like they advertise. So don’t get ur hopes up for that. You’ll be eating Carbs most of the time and they have no alternatives for people who don’t eat pork. If they do it’s an ice berg lettuce salad. When I was discharging I met with the leaders of alumni they said they would reach out and check on how I am doing after discharge. And I never received that call. When I discharge I was also asked to leave a review. So most of the reviews on here are asked to be done. I will agree avenues isn’t that bad however they offer false hopes. The case managers and most BHTs and most of the Qmaps are very unhappy with their jobs and they will make you feel more like a burden than treat you with kindness and respect. With most of them also staying sober and was once in the patients shoes you would think they had more kindness and care for their patients
