I've been in and out of treatment many times throughout my addiction but Muse Treatment Center has been more than accommodating to the needs that i have for my addiction at this stage in my life. They have poured their heart and souls into this shit. I feel nothing but love from each and every staff member here. This place is the truth bro, their honest and have the integrity that most places I've been to sadly had not. They go the extra mile and take chances which showed me a new perspective and outlook on my life as an addict. I have so much love and respect for this place. Shout out to Joyce and Oscar for the amazing meals they make everyday and to Chuckie and Martin for the sick ass outings they take us on. And a big ass shout out to Jose, Jesus and Tyler for really working with us and getting me and my girlfriend the help that we need. Shit is real out there, here today and gone tomorrow type shit. This place may have just saved my life, because the direction I was going was straight to the grave and these guys put a 180 on that. I feel better than I've had in years thanks to Muse treatment center. I'm all in with Muse. If you know you need help this is the place to be, straight up!

Muse treatment center is wonderful. They are honest and do what they say. I have been to lots of other treatment programs that lie and say whatever you want to hear only to get you in the door. Starting programs like that break trust from the first day! This place has heart, all the staff are saving lives one day at a time! Shoutout to the management, they care and take the time to listen and talk to you. Never been anywhere like this! Tyler, Jose, Jesus thank you for everything, and Joyce & Oscar for the delicious food. Everyone that works here is awesome. I decided to stay longer, because they are keeping me and my man safe.

1st off I want to thank God for placing me in this place. I never dreamed when I showed up to Muse that I would be where I am now. This place gave me the tools I needed to support my recovery journey. The proof is in the pudding and I'm here to tell you guys I am the proof. If you put in the work and really want sobriety this is the place to go. There are pros and cons to every treatment center but the pros definitely out weigh the cons here. I would personally like to thank a few people that made a huge impact on my journey here and I love them all dearly: Alex & Travis, Isreal & Carlos. Most of all I would to thank Chad & Devona, I definitely wouldn't have made it this far without you 2. Also Jose & Corrinna for answering my calls and dealing with my crazy self. Thank you will never be enough you guys.

Accepted Insurance

Muse Treatment works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient programs are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare. Muse Treatment - Lucerne Avenue Outpatient Rehab is able to treat substance abuse and mental health disorders and help clients maintain long-term recovery through their three-pronged, interdisciplinary approach. Therapy, twelve-step integration, and neuro-rehabilitation, are the three key components to the Muse philosophy of treatment. This methodology enables clients to succeed in treatment and thrive in the world beyond treatment.
inpatient iconInpatient
Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Their residential treatment is a community-oriented program.
intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient
Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) are for those who want or need a very structured treatment program but who also wish to live at home and continue with certain responsibilities (such as work or school). IOP substance abuse treatment programs vary in duration and intensity, and certain outpatient rehab centers will offer individualized treatment programs.
aftercare iconAftercare Support
Rehab aftercare programs offer clients in addiction recovery a robust continuum of care after clients have completed active treatment. These services address recovery as a life-long process and are designed to evolve with clients' changing needs. Clients may partner with their case managers and/or addiction recovery team to identify the rehab aftercare services that are right for them. They may receive career counseling, housing assistance, peer coaching, 12 step program induction, among many other services.
12-step icon12-Step
12-step programs are addiction recovery models based on Alcoholics Anonymous (AA). A number of substance abuse programs (including some drug and alcohol rehab centers) use the 12 steps as a basis for treatment. Beginning steps involve admitting powerlessness over the addiction and creating a spiritual basis for recovery. Middle steps including making direct amends to those who've been hurt by the addiction, and the final step is to assist others in addiction recovery in the same way. 12-Step offshoots including Narcotics Anonymous (NA), Cocaine Anonymous (CA), Dual Recovery Anonymous (DRA), Sex and Love Addicts Anonymous (SLAA) and Gamblers Anonymous (GA).
sober-living iconSober Living Homes
Sober living houses (SLHs), aka sober homes or halfway houses, are safe, substance-free, supportive living facilities for those recovering from substance abuse. Ideal for those who've just been through inpatient or outpatient treatment, SLHs are supervised environments with rules that support sobriety, such as curfews, shared chores, and therapeutic meetings. Residents are also often trained on life skills and coping skills to make it easier to transition into society. SLHs also provide a strong sense of community that can lead to the kind of deep and lasting connections with other sober individuals that supports a new, healthy lifestyle. Muse Treatment believes that a key part of recovery is finding the right sober living environment.
heart-hands iconIntervention Services
Intervention services helps family or friends of addicts stage an intervention, which is a meeting in which loved ones share their concerns and attempt to get an addict into treatment. Professional intervention specialists can help loved ones organize, gather, and communicate with an addict. They can guide intervention participants in describing the damage the addict's behavior is causing and that outside help is necessary to address the addiction. The ideal outcome of an intervention is for the addict to go to rehab and get the help they need.
medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one's body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Drug rehab in California teaches participants constructive ways to stay clean and sober. Treatment revolves around helping individuals stop using the substance they are addicted to and learn healthy habits to avoid relapse.

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation. Part of the dual diagnosis treatment at Muse include art therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy and counseling.

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Cognitive behavioral therapy in California is a method that therapists often use for the effective treatment of substance use disorders. It is based on the principle that substance abuse stems from unhelpful ways of thinking and patterns of behavior, which can be changed by helping the individual learn better ways of coping.

While participating in dialectical behavior therapy in California, you'll focus on four key areas of skill development: mindfulness, interpersonal effectiveness, emotion regulation, and distress tolerance. Treatment includes weekly individual and group sessions.

equine-therapy iconEquine Therapy

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Life skills trainings involve all the skills a person must have in order to function successfully in the world. These include time management, career guidance, money management, and effective communication. Truly successful addiction recovery is based on the ability to not only live substance-free, but to thrive. Life skills teaches the practical necessities of functioning in society, which sets clients up for success in life, and therefore sobriety.

Substances can prevent the absorption of nutrients and cause damage to your body's systems. Nutrition therapy in California addresses the deficiencies in vitamins and minerals that are caused by substance abuse.

Creativity is inherently healing, and can help those in recovery express thoughts or feelings they might not otherwise be able to. Creative arts therapy can include music, poetry/writing, painting, sculpting, dance, theater, sandplay, and more. Unlike traditional art, the final product matters far less than the experience of creation and expression itself.

Experiential therapy is a form of therapy in which clients are encouraged to surface and work through subconscious issues by engaging in real-time experiences. Experiential therapy departs from traditional talk therapy by involving the body, and having clients engage in activities, movements, and physical and emotional expression. This can involve role-play or using props (which can include other people). Experiential therapy can help people process trauma, memories, and emotion quickly, deeply, and in a lasting fashion, leading to substantial and impactful healing.

Staff raided my room, destroyed property without consent. Forced me into bathroom, searched pockets, crushed cigarettes. No permission given for physical search/assault. Violated rights, caused trauma. Contract never authorized these actions. **Full Complaint:** I am filing this complaint regarding multiple violations at your sober living facility: 1. **Unauthorized Property Search & Destruction**: Staff entered my room without permission and destroyed my personal belongings. 2. **Forced Interruption of Important Appointments**: Staff called a pregnant resident during a life insurance interview, demanding immediate return for a house meeting, showing complete disregard for residents' critical personal business. 3. **Physical Assault & Unlawful Search**: Staff forcibly detained me in a bathroom, placed hands in my pockets without consent, and destroyed my cigarettes. When I stated my rights were violated, staff claimed I "signed a contract" - however, no document I signed authorized physical searches or assault. 4. **Psychological Trauma**: These violations triggered severe trauma responses and mental health issues, bringing back painful childhood memories and causing lasting psychological harm. **Rights Violated:** - Personal safety and bodily autonomy - Property rights - Dignity and basic human respect - Due process No resident consented to these actions. The facility operated outside legal boundaries and violated basic civil rights. I request immediate investigation and corrective action to prevent future violations against vulnerable residents.
