The floor staff are courteous and professional. They took good care of both my husband and me. My problem was with some of the docs in the ER. They get a 2.

I'm wondering if people know they can file complaints to have this facility investigated, since there are so many complaints. Contact Joint commission, OIG, DEPT. OF HHS. AND A FEW OTHERS like your states agency designed for this kind of thing. Doing this might perk them up a bit. Maybe an overhaul of employees and hiring of competent staff might help. I hope things get better in that region. Having poor healthcare at a medical center is a hopeless feeling for a community.

Other Forms of Payment

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Levels of Care

partial-hospitalization iconPartial Hospitalization Program
A partial hospitalization program (PHP) is a short-term form of intensive rehab, usually for those with acute symptoms that are hard to manage but don’t require 24-hour care. PHPs have structured programming (i.e. individual and/or group therapy), and usually meet 3-5 days a week for around 6 hours (i.e. 9am-3m). Some PHPs are residential (patients sleep on site) and some are not, so patients sleep at home. PHPs can last from 1-6 months, and some offer transportation and meals.

Treatments

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

It was my first visit here & I was looking for direction to the ER. I was waiting first, then a couple people came in after me. A lady helps the other two and doesn’t acknowledge I’m standing right behind her, as she has her back turned to me. So I find the ER on my own, and they ask if I have an appointment. I say no. They ask which doctor I’m here to see… I say none just checking in. (I recently moved here out of state & they allow walkins in the emergency room?) So they then recommended I go to urgent care without asking me what I was needing to be seen for. Not professional in my opinion.

If I could get this hospital with zero, I would Unity health is one of the worst hospitals around. My mom went in to the ER because she kept on passing out And going unconscious. The ER is very Untouchable. They tell you one thing and do another. they are not firm on their diagnosis. they will mistreat you and most of the doctors inside the ER have attitudes and just do not care. They said they were going to put my mom into the hospital and at the last moment they changed their mind and wrote up discharge papers. and when they went to send her up, she passed out again on the floor going unconscious and all they wanted to do was administer medications and let her go. Until they were forced to admit her into the hospital. At her last visit at the hospital, they did her gallbladder surgery wrong and it messed up everything else. They are wanting to discharge today after everything and still have not done anything for her. I do not recommend this hospital for nobody. I will gladly go to the rock and instead of unity.

Went to ER and got the best care and the nurses are so caring and polite and the doctor was caring and concerned. I’ll use this hospital if I ever have another emergency!

I came here in need of a drug test because someone decided to smoke drugs in my car while I was doing my taxi service. I was looked at funny and not taken care of well. The doctor mr. Galdamez I believe his name was came in and told me I was fine. I told them I felt funny but they did not listen. I asked them to do a pee test to make sure, and they told me it was to take hours (barely anyone in the lobby). Staff were sitting around cracking jokes. Not a good place to go, and when it comes to hospitals this is very unfortunate.

Well I'm up here with my husband, he has been admitted and the nurses on days always seem to get stuff right and give meds when they are due, but the nurses on nights come in 15 to 30 minutes late and always push his meds out and then argue about when they where given when we set the time every time they come in..... he is a vet but doesn't seem to get the help he should get and everyone just acts like it's nothing as long as the doctors and nurses are getting a paycheck it doesn't seem to matter what care the patients get very disappointed searcy step it up or get the right people in there who actually give a crap....

You would be better of going to a veterinarian than going here. Worst hospital I have ever seen. The staff are all very rude. They all claim to know nothing and that they don’t know when someone who knows something will come check on you. Once you leave the ER and are admitted to the hospital you can’t get anyone to tell you anything about your treatment, who your doctor is, how long you will be in the hospital or what therapy you will be given. I’ve never heard of a hospital telling a patient ‘you need to see a cardiologist. We do not have one here. Here is a phone number for one you can call. But he doesn’t come here you will have to call him for an appointment.’ How do I know when I can make an appointment with that doctor when you don’t know when you are going to release me because you don’t know when the next time a doctor will be on rounds. They should close this place down except for the ER. Once the ER decides you need admitted they should send you to a hospital where they might not kill you.
