My wife is involuntary held against her will. Finally I went by and a lady was kind enough to get a medical waiver. It's just so hard not knowing what's going on. Update. My wife had barbiturate in her system when admitted. Pathways injected her with an antipsychotic. I think they did this while she was in shock from date rape. Please check and see if people use drugs before injecting them. My wife has never done drugs. Now you guys have made her more insane.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Sliding scale payments are based on a client's income and family size. The goal is to make treatment affordable to everyone. By taking these factors into account, addiction recovery care providers help ensure that your treatment does not become a financial burden to you or your family, eliminating one barrier to care.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
inpatient iconInpatient
Inpatient rehabs feature intensive clinical supervision and a highly structured and supportive environment, meaning they are especially well suited for clients in early recovery and those at risk of relapse. Clients reside at the treatment facility and engage in various therapeutic sessions throughout the day, including addiction counseling and recovery-focused life skills training. Many programs also offer evidence-based complementary therapies, such as meditation and massage.
intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient
Clients enrolled in an intensive outpatient program (IOP) travel to treatment centers for specialized care multiple times per week. Intensive outpatient treatment allows clients to receive robust care while continuing to live at home. Most programs require between nine and 20 treatment hours per week, with the frequency and intensive of sessions decreasing as clients stabilize. Services generally include a combination of addiction counseling, medication assisted treatment (MAT), recovery-focused life skills training, and holistic therapies.
heart-hands iconIntervention Services
A drug intervention in Georgia is designed to encourage an individual to get the treatment they need. This effort aims to break through resistance and motivate the individual to get help. The process typically involves loved ones sharing their concerns with the individual and how their substance use has affected those who care about them. A professional interventionist can help guide this conversation and explain from the clinical side how treatment can be beneficial.
24-hour icon24-Hour Clinical Care
24-hour clinical care in Georgia reduces the risks involved in detox and addiction treatment. Without access to professional medical care, individuals may experience withdrawal symptoms that become life threatening. For example, alcohol withdrawal can cause delirium tremens, confusion, and cardiac symptoms. Without medical supervision to step in, these symptoms could potentially turn fatal.
medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
Medical detox is the process of ridding the body of addictive substances in a medically supervised setting. If you become chemically dependent on a substance like alcohol, opioids, or benzodiazepines (like Xanax or Ativan), quitting abruptly can cause uncomfortable or even dangerous side effects. Licensed medical professionals ensure the process goes as safely and comfortably as possible while monitoring you 24/7 and administering any required medications,

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

A quality drug rehab in Georgia can help you overcome addiction. This environment is designed to help you address the complex issues contributing to drug dependence. The goal of treatment is to give you the tools you need to make a full recovery.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.

Clinical Services

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Many life skills involve coping with emotions and stress. Others involve completing tasks that allow you to live independently. Examples include finding a job, managing finances, and nutrition. During rehab in Georgia, you'll work on any skills that are lacking to ensure you have the tools for success post treatment.

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

Recreational therapy (aka therapeutic recreation) uses creative and fun activities to help with addiction recovery. Recreational therapists lead patients in entertaining and engaging activities like sports or games; art (drawing, painting, sculpture); drama, music, and dance; and/or community outings (field trips) to improve patients' physical, social, and emotional well-being.

I don’t write this lightly. I truly wanted Pathways Care Campus to be a place of healing. The concept is strong, and many of the people working there seem to genuinely care. But the reality is a program that is severely underfunded, poorly managed, and in some cases, dangerously neglectful. During my stay, I didn’t even have proper clothing — I went without socks most of the time, and the few I could find were full of holes. That might sound small, but it reflects a bigger issue: basic needs are simply not being met. One of the most disturbing things I witnessed was a man going through detox, violently vomiting everywhere. He was lying in the common area, vomiting on the floors, himself, and in his room. Instead of being given private medical attention or isolated for sanitation and health reasons, he was kept in a shared space with his roommate — who understandably complained, yet nothing changed. This wasn’t just unsanitary — it was dehumanizing and unsafe. I also witnessed a man having a seizure, and the response from staff was to pick him up off the floor mid-seizure. This isn’t just improper care; it’s a lack of basic medical training and it put the patient at even greater risk. My own care was just as alarming. I was placed on medication without anyone truly listening to my symptoms or history. I repeatedly voiced concerns that were dismissed. Upon release, I had no follow-up care and experienced serious blood pressure issues that led to a hospital visit. My doctor at Pathways was completely dismissive and unresponsive until I formally requested a new physician — only then was I finally released. To top it off, I was denied ongoing care due to a “conflict of interest” because of my company’s previous involvement with their public events. That left me in a vulnerable state, without support, when I needed it most. Since being released, I’ve faced serious struggles directly tied to how poorly my case was handled there. This place may have started with good intentions, but it is absolutely not a safe or sustainable environment for people seeking help. I would never recommend Pathways Care Campus to anyone. Until there is real funding, oversight, and accountability, it remains a harmful place dressed up in the language of healing.

This place gave me the wrong medication at the medication window. I asked them three times to check and see if it was right they refused. So I took the medicine and ended up in a coma in Piedmont and hospital for 3 weeks not one person from this facility checked on me to see how I was doing. This place is so unprofessional it is unbelievable. They violated HIPAA laws I don't know how many times it is absolutely unbelievable this place should be shut down

My son was here for five days. He has been to a facility before, but he said this experience was better even though I never spoke with a doctor. The facility is clean. He participated in group and sports. Very professional.

It is extremely hard to even set an appointment to see anybody with out waiting weeks to a month. The one time I did see a doctor I came in only to be told that I had to sit in a room and meet with her virtually. Now it’s a mandatory to see the doctor before I can even receive a refill on my prescription when I’ve never even met the lady in person. On top of that I have to do a walk in to make an appointment without even being guaranteed that I’m going to be seen. Personally speaking I wouldn’t recommend anyone here unless your needs are not frequently needed. If you are okay with waiting weeks and months to be scheduled then this is the place for you.

Absolute garbage works here, they refused to give me a doctors note, kept hanging up on me and putt me on hold for hours, just utter trash. All they care about is money here so please seek help anywhere else but at pathways.
