Great place in the 7 weeks there I never got up and regretted going to the meeting. I want people to understand something important about the program. When you complete it and leave, the medications they use as “crutches” (like SSRIs) are not designed to be permanent solutions — but they don’t really prepare you for what happens when you try to come off them.
In my case, when I finished the program, I was left with nothing but “good luck.” No tapering support, no real plan, no follow-up guidance. The withdrawal from SSRI medication was a horrific experience, and I had to seek out a separate doctor on my own afterward just to cope.
People should know going in: the program does provide structure and tools while you’re there, but the aftercare is lacking, especially around medication dependence. Be ready to advocate for yourself and find outside medical support when you leave.

I had an excellent experience at Atlanta Detox Center and truly cannot say enough about the quality of care I received. From the moment I arrived, I felt welcomed and supported. The staff treated everyone with genuine care and respect, which made a difficult process so much easier to go through.
The classes and group sessions were extremely beneficial in getting newly sober as well.
I want to give a special shout-out to my case manager, Christian. He went above and beyond for me—helping with my FMLA paperwork, answering all of my questions, and always showing patience and understanding throughout the process. Having someone so attentive really made a difference.
I also want to recognize the behavioral health techs. They were consistently kind, caring, and helpful towards all clients, and it showed that they truly care about the people they work with.
Overall, Atlanta Detox Center made a challenging step in my life feel achievable and supported.

Just left today after 30 day program..the staff were incredible and I learned alot about addiction and the long road to my recovery. Great food, medical staff and management....O.G and all. Ft. Mac offers a lot of services to us veterans and dependents. I wished they had natural medicine doctors instead of the ones the only thing they're taught to do is issue pills for everything.

From the doctor, director Jennifer, miss Holly amazing nurses especially Yolanda, and many more especially when you are recovering in recovery the amazing counselor's , such as sweet, caring, and supportive while REALLY LISTENING AND KEEPING IT REAL and making you feel comfortable and in a safe place is just a big perk in recovery. I arrived for treat on a Monday, from the moment I walked in, I felt love a support from the staff working the front desk. They were very patient and I was having a very rough day. Once arriving to my unit Light House I met Mr. Emmanuel; at the very least he was wonderful, patient, kind, and compassionate. They offered me food to eat and encouraged me that everything would be okay in spite of everything going on in the outside world. I knew God had sent me to the right place. The food was wonderful, and the rooms were clean. They allow you to go outside and encourage you to interact with the other clients. The therapist that held activities were fun and engaging. The nurses and technicians were very eager to assist with any concerns and they actually listened. I honestly cant say enough about my experience and care there. Lastly, I would like to give a huge thank you to Mr. Emmanuel, RN Robin, and Therapist Raquel. Thank you all for your love and much needed support. May God continue to bless and keep you.

I've been to Riverwoods inpatient three times total since 2021. This was my first time being in the PHP and IOP outpatient program. All of the staff, inpatient and outpatient, we're absolutely amazing, ethical, and encouraging. Ms. April was my counselor and she did more for me in just the month and a half I was there than two decades of therapy elsewhere. I feel completely healed mind, body, and soul. I deeply appreciate Riverwoods staff and programs available to patients. Outpatient lodge program staff were fun, encouraging, and made sure I put in the work myself as well. I deeply appreciate everyone at Riverwoods for the opportunity, encouragement, and therapeutic approaches.
