8.07 / 10 | Embark Behavioral Health - Alpharetta is part of a nationwide network of outpatient centers and residential programs that specialize in mental health issues, including substance use disorders. At their Alpharetta, Georgia, location they serve preteens, teens and young adults ages 12 to 28. They’ve been working with youth for over 25 years. Locate | Treatments Programs Payment Options | I spent about three months in their IOP program, and it made a huge difference for me! Raj Iyer is a fantastic therapist, and the group facilitators do a great job at making the lessons engaging and relatable. As a college student, I was part of the young adult group, where my peers were welcoming and supportive. No matter what you’re struggling with, this is a program that’s worth trying.

Embark is genuinely the best place to get treatment. I looked so different leaving the program than when I came in. The staff are so kind, considerate, they provide such helpful skills to help with mental health and urges. Ja’Monica, Susan, Myron, Loren, Jimmy, Terri, David, Maddie, Mona, Vessena, De’Ja, Sade, and Dr. Hooper yall are genuinely so precious to me and yall will always have a place in my heart. Ja’Monica was my personal therapist and I learned so much from her and her EMDR amongst all her other methods of therapy. I have nothing but good things to say about them. They’re also really good with security on a real note, they always make sure we as the clients are protected in every way shape or form. Susan will push you past your limits in the best way possible. If you get mad at what she says that’s in your best interest, you’ll know it’s what you need to work on 😂 THANK YOU EMBARK 💖💖💖

7.85 / 10 | Sunrise Detox Alpharetta is an inpatient detox center in Alpharetta, Georgia near Atlanta. They treat patients 18 and older. They’re part of Praesum Healthcare’s behavioral health services, so after detox, you can move to one of their other centers for continued care if appropriate. The center accepts most major insurance. However, they don’ | Treatments Programs Payment Options | Let me start with the food… only because I was a former chef. The food is prepared fresh EVERY meal by actual trained Chefs. Not only do they serve amazing food, they genuinely care about the clients. This plays a HUGE part with clients getting the nutrients they need to heal and grow. I enjoyed every meal and conversation with them.
The staff to client ratio here is the best I have experienced at this level of care. All of the staff from the techs, nurses, counselors, clinical directors, providers, and admissions do their job well. They ACTUALLY care about the clients and get to know them personally.
My Counselor was absolutely amazing. He helped me out more than he could know. I also had my moments with stress and frustration. It was handled with understanding and empathy, rather than judgement or punishment. Thank you brother, I am very grateful we met.
My medication provider got to know me on a personal level and they listened to my situation and needs. THEY ABSOLUTELY DO NOT OVERPRESCRIBE or make you suffer with a poor taper. It was a breath of fresh air after previous experiences. My medication that was prescribed helped me stabilize and improve my mood and experience. I plan on staying on the prescribed medication and continuing my psychiatric care.
Aldo the techs do an amazing job. They are on the front lines night and day with new admission patients. They actually get to know the clients and participate in their recovery as well. Some of them even participate in activities with clients. They deal with a lot at times and they handle it professionally and with compassion.
The nurses also got to know me on a personal level. They genuinely care about the clients needs and well being. Medication time was always warm and welcoming. Also sometimes I would discuss any issues I was having and they would listen. I had a cardiac emergency from a genetic heart condition and the nurses worked hard to stabilize me. IT LITERALLY helped save my life. I am beyond grateful for this. 🙏
Tomorrow is my last day here after a 30 day stay. I can honestly say I will miss the staff and food from here. If you stay in GRATITUDE you can heal and grow here. We all have our moments, that is what recovery is. Learning to stick and stay with the plan, even when all you want to do is run! The staff here helped see me all the way to the finish line. I can honestly say I am very grateful to have come here. I celebrated 10 years no drinking this year, but there is more work to do 💪.
Thank you Sunrise Staff, you helped me more than you know. I am speaking from a grateful heart. I am actually sad to leave and that says a lot about the staff I met here. They helped me heal and grow. Now it is time to put to work what I learned during my stay. ❤️🩹

I had a very positive experience at Sunrise Detox. Jeff Hamilton is an amazing counselor. He genuinely cares, listens, and has a way of helping you look at things differently without making you feel judged.
Nate and Lawrence are also amazing chefs. The food was consistently good, and that may sound like a small thing, but when you're going through detox and having a difficult time physically and mentally, having good meals really does make a difference.
The techs, nursing staff (Howard, Justin, Denise, Joi, Lisa, LeAnn, Beth, and Millie the Wonder Dog), and nurse practitioners (Brooke & James) were also very good. I felt like the majority of the staff truly cared about the people they were helping and understood how difficult detox can be.
Detox is obviously not somewhere anyone wants to have to go, but the people at Sunrise made a very difficult situation much more manageable. I especially want to recognize Jeff, Nate, Lawrence, and Brooke for the impact they had on my experience. I am very grateful for the care and support I received while I was there.

Full disclosure: I haven’t been to this particular office . HOWEVER, I saw Dr. Sambunaris and his team years ago (late 1990’s?) for an anti-depressant drug trial. It was done with a double-blind placebo and I never knew whether I was receiving “the real thing” or not. However, over the weeks of going in and meeting with him and his team, I came to greatly respect the care and thoughtful approach that I could see came from the direction of Dr. Sambunaris. He and his team were always ready to stop the trial for a patient, should they start experiencing any negative side effects. I suppose that’s normal for drug trials, but I felt so very cared for. In all my years since then of trying therapy here and there, I’ve never experienced an office team and /or Psych doctor that was that…I dunno…warm; loving; that made you feel like it’s gonna be ok. (I know what you’re probably thinking: I haven’t found the right therapist and I need to just head to Dr. S’s office! You’re right!) At the end of the trial, during the exit interview, Dr. S. asked if I thought I was on an antidepressant (I did think so), and queried me on my thoughts. He then explained the link between depression and anxiety (who knew? I’m not even sure “Google” was born yet!). That info has been THE most helpful to me over the years - more-so than possibly ANY mental health information: That my depression wasn’t the crux of the problem; my ANXIETY was (is). I’m so grateful to Dr. Angelo Sambunaris for giving me that tidbit of knowledge so that I could learn how to better take care of myself. Hopefully, I’ll be in there soon…

I chose this location at random back in Aug ‘23 because I had been dealing with what felt like “higher-than-normal” levels of anxiety for a couple of years. I noticed increased irritability, and overthinking many daily tasks and common life events that I never worried about in the past. I had never really been an anxious person. After taking care of and watching my mother pass from early-onset Alzheimers, I knew it would be in my best interest to talk to a specialist. Little did I know that my life would change after speaking with someone for just a few months. Troy taught me how to process my grief in a systematic way that made sense to me. Today was my last session with him, and I feel like a huge weight has been lifted. I will forever be an advocate of therapy because of this experience. Thank you Troy!

Alpharetta, GA | High Focus Centers Johns Creek Outpatient Treatment Center in Georgia provides mental health and addiction treatment services to teens and adults. Most commercial insurance plans are accepted, while some out-of-network benefits and private pay options are also available. A Drug Rehab Center in Fulton County Access vital support for substance abuse | Treatments Programs Payment Options | How do you find words to properly express when your life has been saved? I don’t have that answer, but I am going to try my best.
High Focus SAVED my life. I came into the program with a shattered heart, low self esteem, scared, and badly wrapped in the negative narrative I had about life/people. I was never taught how to understand my emotions. I used mean words as my weapon to hurt those I felt hurt me. I assumed that would always be my life. I never thought I could learn healthy coping skills. To me, I would always be a broken woman.
Yet, High Focus introduced me to a world where emotions can be regulated, healing is real, my past does NOT define my future, the broken little girl within can be loved, I control my life (not others), I have the freedom to choose me, and good things can happen.
My therapist (Fedline Joseph) held my hand every step of the way. Even when she knew I was ready to soar, she didn’t pressure me. She allowed me to discover my inner strength. She listened (never judging). She reassured me when life felt bleak. She taught me boundaries can be cratered and I can stick to them. She taught me I was not born broken.
Every encounter was intentional; every class was meaningful; every therapist was encouraging; every lesson taught me how to peel away layers of trauma; and every friendship was authentic. I graduated the program a joyful, confident woman who held her boundaries and loved herself enough to continue the healing journey.
Everything about the program was life changing. I now wake up grateful; I check-in with my feelings; I pay close attention to my mood and environment; and I give myself grace.
Thank you High Focus. Thank you Fedline. Thank you Monica (the nurse practitioner who was AMAZING and excellent at medication management. She listened and made sure my paperwork for Short Term Disability was completed on time. Notes that needed to be sent to my insurance company were always completed professionally. I never had to worry about anything “behind-the-scene).”

High focus helped my 13 yr old daughter find her voice and confidence again. Their program taught her how to self-regulate, express herself effectively and the ins and outs of scientific research when it comes to mental health. They also provided parents with a workshop every two weeks which were so helpful. They welcomed our family with open arms and embraced my girl with love and support. They also helped to mend the relationship between my daughter and me and taught me how to bond with her in a way that makes sense for both of us. We still have some work to do moving forward, but she is moving in the right direction, seeing a therapist twice a week and working through some anxiety about going back to school in the fall. Thank you Lyndon, Alli, Roni, and Hannah for everything! 😍

It was a safe place during my most suicidal years. I really appreciated the ability to isolate in my room, unlike other facilities that lock the rooms during the day. Im currently a client on methadone that has moved from Ca. to Ga. It was spur of the moment with no time to make arrangements. I spoke with ERIC on Healthqwests csr dept based on New Jersey. Fyi. Ive been in tech supt, customer service, Quality Assurance & M.I.S. For over 30 yrs Ive worn a headset and have been helping customers. Ive ALWAYS gone above and beyond to help, which is why I can say that ERIC assessed my dilemma for what it was and did his best to move Heaven and earth for me to get me the help i needed 2 days ago. He had an entire queue to help and he took my case as personal as was needed to help me. Moving here I have to change my Medicaid to Ga. which is NOT ez or quick. And I, having heart disease and 5 stents in my heart from 2 heart attacks. Short version of of i didn't get help and go into withdrawl the strain on my heart would no doubt KILL me. The man devoted most of his day trying to get my situation straightened out. Im detailing this because I want you to know this was the BEST service ive ever received in my 60 plus years on this planet, and it happened when my literal life was on the line. Healthqwest cant be beat if you want genuine effort with your help. The prices are competitive but you can't go wrong using them.
Ill answer any question or comment too. The medication I take is no joke. I take it for a broken back I got when I was year ended on my motorcycle at a red light. I take it for Pain mgmt.
Its a serious subject and serious things happen with it....and more without it. Id be crippled, so you can see the magnitude of my plight.
Eric knew and did everything he could.
I cant say enough for them.

I came to Southeast at one of the lowest points in my life, and from the moment I walked through the doors, I felt welcomed and supported. Sean made the intake process feel comfortable and helped ease so much of the fear and anxiety I had coming in. Jay also went above and beyond to help me with supplemental needs like food assistance and getting my Social Security card, which meant so much during such a difficult time in my life.
What stood out to me most was how genuinely caring the staff is. Southeast provides so much support during treatment — transportation, cleaning supplies, weekday lunches, and most importantly, a safe environment where you can truly focus on recovery. Many of the techs and group leaders are in recovery themselves, which makes a huge difference because they truly understand what clients are going through. All of the housing and clinical techs are incredible, and I especially want to thank Jenn, Tracy, Edwin, Avery, and Kevin for the support and kindness they showed me.
Cookie and Wendy made a lasting impact on me during my time there and still do today. They truly care about the clients, create a supportive and safe environment, and always brought compassion, encouragement, and positivity when I needed it most.
The groups were incredibly helpful, especially those led by Cassandra and Jimmy, who both bring real experience, honesty, and compassion into their work. My therapist, Carlie, has also been such an important part of my recovery journey. She has been patient, understanding, and genuinely invested in helping me grow and heal. All of the therapists are wonderful, but I definitely wanted to give mine a special shoutout! I’m so grateful to still be working with her while transitioning into outpatient and sober living.
The nurse practitioner and Len also went above and beyond to make sure my individual needs were met and that I felt genuinely supported every step of the way.
Southeast never made me feel like “just another client.” The care here feels real, and that made all the difference for me. I was referred here by several people in the recovery field, and now I completely understand why. If you’re serious about recovery and looking for a safe, supportive place to heal, I highly recommend Southeast.

From day one, the clinical team made me feel genuinely seen, heard, and supported. Their level of care goes beyond just professionalism, you can tell they truly care about each person’s recovery and long-term success. The curriculum is thoughtful, engaging, and applicable to real life, not just something to sit through. It challenged me in the best way and gave me tools I’ll carry with me moving forward.

I knew when I walked in the door and saw Sheby's weloming face that my life was about to change. And I was ready for it. The caring staff and counselors Nick, Jeremy, Aaleyah, Tatiana, Stephen, and especially Rachel have given me lots of new tools to add to my arsenal to help keep me sober. Every day they challenged me and called me on my bull. They also supported me when i needed while also not allowing me to stay rooted in the same place. Truly the best part of TCTC are the other clients. Connecting with people going through similar things, people who shared hopes and dreams for a sober future. The friendships i made there gives me alot of hope for our futures. If u also do housing the apartments u stay in is in a nice community located near an outlet mall and tons of other businesse. U will feel safe in the accomodations. The housing staff also work tirelessly to make sure u have what u need. Hillary and Fallon are just a two in housing that always hear you and fight for u. Ultimately the goal is longterm sobriety and i couldn't have a better team fighting for me. Thank u TCTC for all that u have given me!

I had a very nice experience at the Carter Treatment Center. The counselors Stephen, Tatiana, Alleyah ,Jeremy, Rachael, and Nick were all great. Each one of them bought a nice mix of their styles of teaching. Nick spent a great deal of time helping me with several things that I needed help with. This also made my time here a lot less stressful and I amvery greatful for his help. My counselor/Therapist Stephen was also a big help in helping me with the process of sending in the necessary paperwork that I needed for my situation and I am also greatful for his much-needed help. I would strongly recommend this facility for anyone needing help with their substance use issues.

Faith was the high light of my experience from calling yesterday and asking when’s the nearest day I can come in and she said tomorrow (today, Wednesday) and was able to help me get scheduled and answered all my questions, and thankfully got to meet her and chat / work with her. Then the male nurse whose name I forgot was nice too, then got to speak/ work with Shay. And being able to speak spanish with the Hispanic lady who took my blood. I’m able to speak openly and honest here without judgement and are very sensitive/ welcoming here. I try to recommend all of my LGBTQ+ friends here

Lawrenceville, GA | The Traditions Recovery Center for Women, also known as the MARR Women’s Recovery Center (WRC), is a residential rehab near Rhodes Jordan Park in Lawrenceville, Georgia. At this facility, they help women diagnosed with substance use disorders (SUD).. They also offer each resident a safe space in which she can improve her overall physical and em | Treatments Programs Payment Options | Reviewing from a perspective of both personal experience as well as that of a loved one. MARR is an excellent choice for treatment, the staff all competent and qualified. There are doctors and nurses on staff/on site. Everyone works around the clock for the benefit of their residences - there is absolutely no other program that provides as complete of care as MARR does. They offer intensive care through every stage of recovery for each client. There are few other programs that provide extensive, long term, physical and emotional level care, individual and group therapy, teaches applicable life skills as well as drug and alcohol education and support. I have seen MARR do wonders for many people, from all backgrounds and situations, and leading to clients actively living productive, happy, substance free lives and contributing to the world and people around them. All of this and at a ridiculously affordable rate comparably.

MARR holds a very special place in my heart. I love it. It was everything I had heard previously to going there (the best way to describe it is “big girl rehab”.). If you want to get and stay sober MARR can help you.
It does make sad that there have been so many changes since I have gone through the program. It seems like pretty much the entire staff has changed.
