Upon entering the assigned courtroom, the staff gave a briefing of the do's. don't and what's expected when the assigned judge comes into the courtroom (very professional). I take my hat off to Judge Edmondson-Cooper...her tone, speech and her overall demeanor was exceptional. She didn't ask a lot but she requested everyone to treat everybody with respect and she included herself. I haven't seen nor heard of another (judge) doing such a thing. She made you feel comfortable/at ease even though you didn't know the outcome (a warrant to be taken, your case dismissed or it would be continued). I had almost given up hope but decided to try one more therapist. That was over a year & a half ago and it was probably one of the best decisions I have made in my life. Kelli has gently guided me through so many different events in my life. She has continously fostered a safe and stable place for me to be open. As soon as you begin to talk, she is instantly engaged and focused on what you are saying. She offers different types of therapies while also being mindful & respectful of what you are interested in trying. Every single time I leave an appointment with her I feel refreshed and tranquil. The staff is friendly and kind, and the Director, Mel, is a great counselor and clearly cares about her patients. She is experienced and street smart, so don't try her! If you want out of the street life and opioid addiction, and are committed changing your life, TANG can help. But the rest is up to YOU.If you do what you're supposed to do and stick to the script, this place with help you. If you're not ready to commit to it, not trying to get your life together, show up late, put in minimal effort, always make excuses, pay late, try to beat drug tests, etc, you'll likely complain and project your issues onto the staff or facility rather than being accountable for your own actions. Don't do that. Let them help you help yourself, and you'll be happy you made the change. But if you're looking for a way to get over, and keep playing yourself.. this may not be for you!Otherwise, this place is 5 Stars! The people there are there for one reason, and it s to HELP YOU. It s completely state funded. I saw a review saying that he gives it 0 stars because he got there hungry and they didn t give him food right away.. if you want a better service, pay out of pocket and go to a private facility. I don t get how people talk down on a place that s there to help you, completely FREE. If you want to change you have to put effort from your part as well. Don t expect your life to change if you don t do anything on your end to try to change. Highland Rivers was extremely helpful. Stacey was immensely helpful in making sure I was able to meet with the treatment team in a timely manner, and made sure I was taken care of throughout the process.Was it a five star resort? Not at all, but the fact that it was 100% taxpayer funded was extremely helpful. The last thing I would need when going through a crisis like that is to worry about getting slapped with a huge medical bill afterwards.So, with it being free, I definitely got my money s worth and then some!
