I ve never had more of a bad experience in my life than I ve had within the last year sending my daughter to St Vincent s This program claims to be successful and helping children with anxiety and other Disorders, yet has been very unsuccessful with my child has actually caused a lots of emotional distress with my child also has failed to protect her from having her hair ripped out of her scalp!!! They will lie on your child and say your child is the one lying these mfs Can t convince me enough!!! This place used to be good a few years ago since then they are untrained new lazy ass employees just trying to get a check they do not care about the well-being of children Especially allowing these types of things to go on at the centers It s OK though I will find a better option for my daughter she Will no longer have to go through this and I will be filing a lawsuit considering not only did they not protect my child They ve put a blanket over her head to protect them from being spit on which my daughter never spit before But according to them is all of a sudden spitting Oh and not to mention they will slip your child medication and claim that the child did not get the medication even though they really gave your child The medication so yeah please be careful do research I cannot wait to see them in court!!!

If I could give it zero stars I would. My son was put in there right before Covid hit. He was abuse physically and mentally by staff. He was forced to take cold showers and was restrained to the point he had bruises. Then when Covid started they stopped sending reports to our case worker about him. I FaceTime with him several times and he had unexplained bruises. He had a busted lip at one point from another kid. I was talking to him one when a group of boys decided that he needed to kiss another boy and because he didn t they started hitting him. When I yelled repeatedly where was staff my son said they were sitting at a table talking and wouldn t do anything to help him. I don t recommend this place to anyone. I am in the process of getting a lawyer to sue them and the state of Ohio for letting places like this keep running. There was one staff there that told us to hurry and get our son out of there because of how he was being treated. It s all about the money to this sick place!!!!

Other Forms of Payment

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Sliding scale payments are based on a client's income and family size. The goal is to make treatment affordable to everyone. By taking these factors into account, addiction recovery care providers help ensure that your treatment does not become a financial burden to you or your family, eliminating one barrier to care.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
inpatient iconInpatient
Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.

Treatments

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

Mental health rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from mental illnesses like bipolar disorder, clinical depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, and more. Mental health professionals at these facilities are trained to understand and treat mental health issues, both in individual and group settings.

Programs

lgbtq-program thumbnail image
LGBTQ Program
Recovery is most successful when clients feel accepted and validated by their peers and treatment providers. Facilities that offer LGBTQ-inclusive programming are committed to creating a safe space where everyone can grow and recover without fear of judgment or discrimination. They will have dedicated policies in place to create a safe and supportive environment that fosters free expression.

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Experiential therapy is a form of therapy in which clients are encouraged to surface and work through subconscious issues by engaging in real-time experiences. Experiential therapy departs from traditional talk therapy by involving the body, and having clients engage in activities, movements, and physical and emotional expression. This can involve role-play or using props (which can include other people). Experiential therapy can help people process trauma, memories, and emotion quickly, deeply, and in a lasting fashion, leading to substantial and impactful healing.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

I was going to a therapist that day and I told her everything about what's going on with the reality of my life. And pretty much I got pretty annoyed that every weak she keeps repeating about her marriage and I talked to her as friends which I got pretty annoyed, I was pretty much sad and depressed through my whole week with my struggles as she does not tell me anything which I was diagnosed. Ladies and Gentlemen, if you ever book a therapist here at st vincent. I won't do it plus you broke regret it and I was sent here when I turned 18.

Went here as a kid and can’t count how many times I was abused by staff or staff allowed children to abuse other children or myself, after they or I had been manhandled into a restraint and slammed on the floor face first, or putting my arm behind back so far up it was excruciating and felt like it was breaking, don’t forget the pinch on the pressure point to make me submit. Remember picking me up by my neck STACY and slamming me against the wall all because I called you a name. I was a minor dude a little freaking kid. How many bruises and bloody noses I had because of this place. I had to freaking live here too. Hannah Neil wasn’t much better. I Can’t pinpoint why or how I developed it, but I’m sure you’re partly responsible for my Borderline personality disorder. Look me up St. Vincent if you don’t believe me Mark Eugene Akers Jr.

As a child I went here and saw some unbelievable stuff they couldn't restrain me because of major health issues they went as far as restraining a kid infront of me this kid had to be 11-13 they had like 6 big guys restraining him I would not recommend this place to anyone. If you don't do what you're told and act right you either get restrained or locked in a room with nothing. My brother was also one of these kids that experienced it and also my fiance of 23 years.

If I could give zero stars I would. My stepdaughter has been going there for 7mo and keeps being put in restraints, meaning people are holding her down. Putting pressure points on her all. She has been coming home now for the last month with bruises and scratch marks. DO NOT let your kids go there..she comes home crying and more Agitated then when she went in.

Now my son experienced a panic attack foaming at the mouth at the age of 7 I was 30 minutes away and expressed that I wanted them to call 911 Katlyn told me she would have to call me back about the process of calling 911 I get there my son is foaming out the mouth screaming I found my son from his cries I'm yelling at them why didn't you call 911 so I'm in the process of sewing them thanks to Maria his CFI worker she helped make my decision and Joanne Engles the doctor needs to be fired

Terrible, the person they sent to my home did a no call no show 3 times. She also kept pushing to see my kid at school when she has an iep already and is taken out of the classroom enough, she also never communicated to me on a behavioral plan and I’m still stuck, it’s been 3 maybe 4 weeks since my child has seen her and she has not said anything about stopping services, this place is very unprofessional and I will never recommend them again, back to searching for a special list that can help me, because st. Vincent is not the answer. If you’re comfortable with constant call offs or no shows and not being involved with the plan this is the place for you!

Response from the ownerInvalid relative date format:

Let me take you back to the end of 2012 when I was in my third foster home and my caseworker decided to put me here. I was only 8. I was surrounded by kids with serious issues. The staff members were horrible. There was one lady by the name of mrs Kim she was constantly putting her hands on us and threatening us. And Ms Paulette Jackson she got off on restraining people. Edph was a weird experience and I hated it so much. I loved my therapist I think her name was mrs brianna skidmore. Also the basement where the edph classes were held was haunted.
