About Watershed Treatment Program

Watershed Treatment Program is a drug and alcohol rehab in Boca Raton, Florida. You might hear some call it The Watershed.

By any name, this treatment center has programs for every stage of addiction recovery. They have medical detox, inpatient and residential rehab, outpatient rehab, and partial hospitalization programs (that’s an industry term for a program where you attend rehab sessions throughout the day but then live at home in the evenings). They have a sober living house too called Halfway House. It’s the perfect middle ground for people who don’t need active treatment anymore but still want a structured and sober environment before they’re ready to live on their own.

The Watershed is a state-licensed rehab center so you can count on quality treatment. Programs are basically what you would expect from rehab: therapy, group therapy, and classes that teach you about addiction and how to stay sober.

One thing The Watershed does that’s especially cool is offering specialized programs for certain groups. There’s a dual diagnosis program for people who have mental health issues on top of addiction. There are also gender-specific programs for men and women, a young adults program, and a professionals program that helps you balance treatment with your career. It’s a great way to make sure everyone gets the treatment they need.

Between their many levels of care and special programs, The Watershed is one of those rehabs where there’s something for everyone.

The staff are friendly, the therapists are great at their jobs, and the rooms are very comfortable. I entered the treatment center feeling hopeless and left rejuvenated about life. I don t think I could have gotten that anywhere else.

I don't even know where to begin. Great place maybe if your suffering from drug addiction, But I went there for mental health reasons and was made to believe by the staff that my occasional use of marijuana was ruining my life. They turned every issue I had into a drug and alcohol related issue and when I asked about getting diagnosed for certain mental issues that I had, I was told by staff I needed to see a Psychologist outside the facility. To me this told me there was absolutely no reason for me to be there. They straight up lied to me on the phone telling me that my insurance would cover the entire stay just for them to send me a bill in the mail for 1800$ that they'll never see a dime of. The first room they put me in smelled heavily like human Urine and when I would complain to the staff about the smell they did absolutely nothing about it so I was forced to sleep in a damp uncomfortable room that smelled like a gas station urinal. Fights were breaking out all the time between patients to the point where it often felt more like a detention center than a mental health facility/rehab. I was unknowingly put on medication that made me tired and less functional than I was before I entered the facility. Afterward my doctor told me I was put on medication meant for schizophrenia despite the fact that I've only been diagnosed with ADHD and Bipolar disorder before I entered the facility. By the way when you first enter the building get ready to strip down naked and bend over and cough in front of a complete stranger. Like I said this might be a great place for someone who has a serious drug addiction but if you have mental health issues seek other treatment.

Accepted Insurance

Watershed Treatment Program works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one's body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal.
24-hour icon24-Hour Clinical Care
At certain points in the recovery process, it's important to have support available 24/7. 24-hour clinical care offers a safe environment in which to recover from drug or alcohol addiction in peace, knowing medical detox and other treatment will happen with professionals on hand.
intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient
Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) are for those who want or need a very structured treatment program but who also wish to live at home and continue with certain responsibilities (such as work or school). IOP substance abuse treatment programs vary in duration and intensity, and certain outpatient rehab centers will offer individualized treatment programs.
inpatient iconInpatient
Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.
12-step icon12-Step
12-step programs are addiction recovery models based on Alcoholics Anonymous (AA). A number of substance abuse programs (including some drug and alcohol rehab centers) use the 12 steps as a basis for treatment. Beginning steps involve admitting powerlessness over the addiction and creating a spiritual basis for recovery. Middle steps including making direct amends to those who've been hurt by the addiction, and the final step is to assist others in addiction recovery in the same way. 12-Step offshoots including Narcotics Anonymous (NA), Cocaine Anonymous (CA), Dual Recovery Anonymous (DRA), Sex and Love Addicts Anonymous (SLAA) and Gamblers Anonymous (GA).

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Drug rehab in Florida provides quality treatment to help individuals overcome dependency related to a wide range of addictive substances. Programs address both the physical and mental aspects of addiction in order to help you make a full recovery.

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Experiential therapy is a form of therapy in which clients are encouraged to surface and work through subconscious issues by engaging in real-time experiences. Experiential therapy departs from traditional talk therapy by involving the body, and having clients engage in activities, movements, and physical and emotional expression. This can involve role-play or using props (which can include other people). Experiential therapy can help people process trauma, memories, and emotion quickly, deeply, and in a lasting fashion, leading to substantial and impactful healing.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Nutrition therapy, aka medical nutrition therapy (MNT), is a way of treating physical, emotional, and medical conditions through diet. Specific dietary plans are designed by professional nutritionists or registered dietitians, and patients follow them in order to positively affect their physical and mental health.

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

IT'S AN INSURANCE SCAM

I agree with the previous review. They have around 200 beds. It is simply a money mill and not an environment for healing. I heard they have shut down and was elated. This type of predatory facility should not exist.

None of these places are good. No different than any other treatment center or residential program, or outpatient for that matter in terms of experience. Good luck getting a doctor to help you because they are not available for more than 15 minutes maybe once per week. It's like a punishment to be there. I went back to my psychiatrist who changed my meds and that's all I needed, not a 21-day stay. Waste of my time. I am doing very well now no thanks to all the art and groups and horse nonsense. When I wanted to leave, the staff asked me do your parents even want to get you? Absolutely! I am a therapist now myself. I held my opinions for years, but if I can deter anyone from making my same mistakes in trusting any of these treatment centers, I will. It was a horrible time with the only reward the pizza on Fridays.
