My experience with your facility can only be described as a skid row house of horrors. I was there for over 5 hours without access to a urinal. Your staff came in and turned me over like a piece of meat to check for bedsores, yet they couldn't respond to the call button during that entire time. You confiscated medications that Jackson Memorial Hospital had given me—medications worth hundreds of dollars—and then denied ever receiving them. You never returned them. When my attorney friend arrived and inquired about the urinal that couldn't be located for over 5 hours, you suddenly suggested there was a "basic incompatibility" between me and the facility. After some discussion, I was placed in my attorney's car and left. Throughout my stay, most of your employees acted as though they couldn't understand English—except when they needed something from me. Otherwise, they ignored me completely and pretended to have no understanding of the language. Your television system was inadequate, lacking most channels. I don't even know if it's a legitimate cable system or something pirated. The bed was uncomfortable and at least a foot too short, leaving my feet hanging over the edge. Of course, you did nothing to address this. You claimed I needed rehab, but I don't believe you're capable of rehabilitating anyone. You had Hoyer lifts and other equipment available but refused to use them to help me access the bathroom. The facility itself resembled a warehouse for abandoned people. Residents were parked in wheelchairs throughout the corridors indiscriminately. Many had towels draped over their heads, seemingly trying to block out the overwhelming noise and chaos. It was like being in one of those Los Angeles areas where homeless people are dumped and forgotten. The hallways were dirty, the noise was relentless, and I cannot fathom how anyone could be expected to recover in that environment unless they were comatose or psychotic. The staff members were the last people I would want touching me, a loved one, or anyone else requiring medical care. They were indifferent, dishonest, and cared about nothing except avoiding being bothered. What struck me most was the pervasive culture of dishonesty—from the missing medications to the language barriers that conveniently disappeared when staff wanted something, to the excuses for basic failures in care. This wasn't isolated incompetence; it was systematic neglect masked by deception. I don't know how you obtained a license in this state, but I suppose that's part of the problem with Florida politics. I strongly advise anyone considering this facility to look elsewhere for something else and stay far away from it hopefully the state will close you down at some point.

Jackson Gardens STOLE everything I had there. They were to klpsck up by belongings and deliver my things to Jackson Memorial about five blocks away. Did they deliver anything? NO! They stole all my shoes, shirts, wallet, Everything I had! Jackson Gardens is the WORST. An update: Jackson Gardens is now blaming the drivers of the ambulance saying they stole everything. THAT is an absolute LIE. For four days my valvuables were safe & sound or so they. Now they are just lying the heads off saying everyone else stole my belongings. 😡

Addiction Treatments

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Drug rehab in Florida provides quality treatment to help individuals overcome dependency related to a wide range of addictive substances. Programs address both the physical and mental aspects of addiction in order to help you make a full recovery.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Programs

Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.

Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.
