My 94 year old mom just stayed for 5 days at Cambridge Care Center. It was actually because I’m her caregiver and needed a few days of respite. When she came home she said that she really liked it and would like to go back sometime! She said the staff was wonderful and caring and the food was good. Since she is on hospice, Medicare paid for the 5 days. If she needs to go for a longer stay I would definitely have her go to Cambridge again! Cindy in Wheat Ridge

My mom was was admitted here after her hospital stay for CHF. This place is a dump. The food literally made my mom physically sick so she stopped eating. The room had no air conditioning so when it was 97 degrees outside it was 85 in her room. They gave her some fans that looked like they'd been in storage for years and it sounded like that too! She has to use a walker and it couldn't fit in the bathroom with her safely. The mattress on the bed kept moving and exposing some metal edges that could be dangerous for someone that has to slide off the bed). She got some PT, OT a couple times but I don't know if it actually did anything for her. She was still weak and had to rest just getting to and from the bathroom. She would press the button for help but by the time they showed up she'd have an accident so I think she forced herself to get up. Luckily we were there daily and could help her. She was there for a week and a half and they gave her a shower once - the day it was so hot in her room. I don't know how insurance figured she was good to go other than PT saying she can get out of bed and get to the bathroom. She still needed help but I don't blame her for wanting out of this place! The location is very sketchy (I wouldn't want to be there at night) AND THERE IS NO PARKING! The staff was helpful sometimes but I really would NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE AT ALL! Once my mom was discharged and our advocate got involved they were a lot more helpful (we needed paperwork for her long-term care facility. We'll see how helpful they are with my mom's forms needed for some insurance claims....

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient

Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.

inpatient iconInpatient

Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.

aftercare iconAftercare Support

Completing a drug or alcohol rehab program shouldn't spell the end of substance abuse treatment. Aftercare involves making a sustainable plan for recovery, including ongoing support. This can include sober living arrangements like halfway houses, career counseling, and setting a patient up with community programs like Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) or Narcotics Anonymous (NA).

Treatments

Mental health rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from mental illnesses like bipolar disorder, clinical depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, and more. Mental health professionals at these facilities are trained to understand and treat mental health issues, both in individual and group settings.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image

Adult Program

Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
young-adult-program thumbnail image

Young Adult Program

Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.
lgbtq-program thumbnail image

LGBTQ Program

Recovery is most successful when clients feel accepted and validated by their peers and treatment providers. Facilities that offer LGBTQ-inclusive programming are committed to creating a safe space where everyone can grow and recover without fear of judgment or discrimination. They will have dedicated policies in place to create a safe and supportive environment that fosters free expression.

Clinical Services

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

I went into Cambridge care center today for a walk in tour of the place because im looking for a permanent home for my father in law , the front desk staff was very welcoming, she introduced me to a very kind man who just so happened to be the administrator who was kind enough to give me the tour himself, the place was so inviting and clean, definitely one of my top picks.

Response from the owner
Thank you for sharing your experience! We're delighted to hear that our welcoming front desk staff and administrator made a positive impression during your tour, and we're honored to be one of your top picks for your father-in-law's new home.

Called the main phone line to help a gentlemen out and was met with the rudest person I have ever spoken to . She was not helpful at all and after being transferred 4 different times to the incorrect place on the 5th call she just kept saying it’s not her fault and that I should watch my tone . An elderly man was struggling to get some information to only be met with disrespect and attitude. I can’t understand how a place can preach care and respect towards patrons when they can’t even do it on the phone . I pray that their phone service doesn’t reflect their patient services .

Response from the owner
We are deeply sorry to hear about your experience with our phone service. We take your feedback seriously and are committed to addressing these issues to improve our care. Please contact us directly so we can discuss this further.

My 89 year old mother was taken to Cambridge from the hospital for 3 broken ribs due to a fall. She was there less than a week and she developed a very bad cough very deep. They told us they tested her and she has the flu. We questioned the nurse and she confirmed the flu, and they weren't giving her anything but Theraflu. They also said that there was no contact information for her family and only information could be released to my mother. That is not true we gave them her POA information upon admission. We then had her verbally approve her other 2 children as contacts. No other testing was done on her. She was confined to her bed and no therapy was conducted, no other medication. The room was filthy and smelled like urine, and her room-mate stole her things and yelled at her every night. My brother took it upon himself after much debate and threats of having to pay her stay there, he removed her and took her home. That same night she became very ill and we called 911. She was taken to the hospital and admitted with Pneumonia. She would have died in that horrible aweful rehab if we would have left her there. I am not only commenting on this sight, but I will also file with Colorado Dept of Health Facilities. Stay away if you want your loved one to be safe.

I admitted my uncle into this facility for rehabilitation. My uncle was very uncomfortable at first but once the staff spoke with him and assured him that he would get the best care possible he then felt okay. Right from the beginning the staff was very friendly. The young reception went above and beyond by letting me know that she would make it her goal to check on him to make sure he felt okay and not so homesick. My uncle is now out of this facility healthier than ever. Thank you so much Cambridge cares for taking such good care of him.

Response from the owner
Thank you for your wonderful review! We're thrilled to hear that our friendly staff and attentive care helped your uncle feel comfortable and achieve a healthy recovery.
