About Sandstone Care Colorado Springs Outpatient Center

Located in Colorado Springs, Colorado, Sandstone Care Colorado Springs Outpatient Center provides outpatient drug and alcohol rehabilitation to teens and young adults. They’re accredited by multiple organizations such as the National Association of Addiction Treatment Providers. Their programs are designed to address the unique challenges that teens and young adults face with addiction. The facility offers a partial hospitalization program (PHP) and an intensive outpatient program (IOP)

Guiding Your Teen To Recovery

The focus of the substance use program for teens is to give you and your child the resources and community needed for long term recovery. The staff makes use of evidence based therapies such as cognitive behavioral therapy and dialectical behavior therapy as well as experiential therapies such as yoga and physical activities. Teen clients will receive individual, group and family therapy. I like that this facility also provides academic and vocational services. The staff will help your teen develop organizational skills to have stability in school and at home.

Addiction Treatment Catered to Young Adults

Staff members will help young adults address mental health concerns causing substance misuse and work to restore relationships that have been harmed by their addiction. The staff is trained to heal individuals dealing with addictions to stimulants, marijuana, opioids and alcohol. The group sessions you participate in will be small in size, so you feel comfortable and get the attention you need. The facility also provides support services for your family so they can better support you and heal from any issues that have resulted from addiction.

Hiking After Treatment in Colorado Springs

Colorado Springs is surrounded by various mountainous areas where you can enjoy a nice hike in between your treatment sessions. Some good parks to check out include Ute Valley Park and Pulpit Rock Park.

Theyre giving the run around to my brother on getting his daughter help for her mental health, lying and anger issues. First guy said they will help, the second lady said no, she has to look into it. Now they wanted to talk to the daughter who is 13, she lied to them so now they don't want to help, despite the fact the my brother told them he has camera footage of how his daughter behaves. There's no mental facility or doctor willing to help his daughter, they will just let it get worse and worse until it's too late. I dont recommend this place because of the run around they give.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

inpatient iconInpatient
Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.
outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.

This place have therapist that provide the worst advice to parents. None of the therapist that handled my child care were parents or knew how to handle parent/kids relationships. All they advised my kid was to leave our home because things would never be better unless they did. One of the family therapy I had with them was very hurtful and everything was our fault as parents there was not help whatsoever on how to work together as a family to make things better! Due to their advice I forced myself to do things I never felt comfortable with and my daughter’s mental health ended up being worse than what it was before joining. I would never recommend this place.

This place told us they were equipped to handle mental health. We were told that the IOP program had what we were looking for. We set up the intake appointment and things were quite a bit different than what was described over the phone. We were told my daughter would do group therapy and individual therapy. During the intake they were a bit confused about the individual therapy and said I could set something up with the man who runs group therapy. When the lady brought us over to him he was very nonchalant and didn’t seem like he wanted to set something up. He kept saying to just give him a call, but we knew which days worked best for us and could’ve scheduled then. Even when I pointed that out, he still said to give him a call. I called the next day and explained it may be slightly easier for my daughter to jump into the group if we did her individual counseling first. He said we could come in that day an hour before group started. I dropped her off and he definitely didn’t conduct therapy. Instead he explained the program AGAIN and proceeded to tell my daughter the business of all those in group therapy. That’s when she knew she was not in the right place. Everyone in her group was there for drug rehab. Which is amazing for them, don’t get me wrong…but how does someone experiencing severe anxiety fit into that group and relate to the other people? She felt like her problems would be insignificant in such a group and asked me to pick her up. She said he proceeded to sit there at his desk and look at all the records of those in group, but that’s it. He finally told her to go to the kitchen and take a break. When I was leaving my house I got a call from the man who conducted “therapy.” He called me to tell me my daughter didn’t have much to say to him. But she had already told me how the appointment went and how it wasn’t actual therapy, so I didn’t really have much to say to him because he did not even try to talk to her in a way that needed her to respond. I mean, how exactly does a teenager respond to someone telling her other peoples problems? Sure, had she gone to the group she would have gotten to know their problems sooner or later, but that’s their story to tell. In the end it felt like a cash grab. I called them at such a vulnerable time, just looking for help for my daughter and they assured me they were the right fit. From the calls with them, I thought they conducted groups for drug rehab separate from groups that needed help with mental health.
