Based on my experience, I found RRRC to be ridged, unable to connect with diverse individuals, and little desire to listen and learn. If people desire a standard checklist and told how and when to move forward - you would probably be a good fit. I was looking for an authentic approach that is rooted in honesty, community building, and customized to what people need.

This program saved my life and every day gives me the tools and resources to make it a life I want to live. Words fall far too short of the gratitude I have for this program and everything they have done for me. So many resources, spectacular staff, refreshingly authentic care and love in this program. I've never felt so supported and secure and safe. From my first phone call on through to the present, it's been nothing but exceptional. My sanctuary, my recovery cocoon and somewhere I'll feel at home throughout my recovery journey and life. I feel confident now that my recovery and future has begun. A life of freedom and opportunity. I was hopeless, discouraged and desperate. I never have to feel that way again. Thank you RRRC~ FOREVER GRATEFUL

Accepted Insurance

Red Rock Recovery Center works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Sliding scale payments are based on a client's income and family size. The goal is to make treatment affordable to everyone. By taking these factors into account, addiction recovery care providers help ensure that your treatment does not become a financial burden to you or your family, eliminating one barrier to care.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
inpatient iconInpatient
Clients entering an inpatient rehab typically require more intensive treatment than those in outpatient care. Clients often start inpatient treatment immediately after completing a detox program. Upon admission, they engage in extensive psychotherapy, receive recovery-focused life skills training, and participate in evidence-based complementary therapies, such as meditation, massage, acupuncture, and/or animal, creative arts, recreational, and experiential therapy.
intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient
Clients receiving care in an intensive outpatient program (IOP) engage in a minimum of nine hours of treatment per week on average. However, many intensive outpatient rehabs offer up to 20 therapeutic hours weekly. IOP services are ideal for those in early recovery or who are at an elevated risk of relapse. IOP may be chosen in lieu of inpatient rehab. Treatment modalities typically include psychotherapy, life skills training, medication assisted treatment (MAT), and holistic care.
aftercare iconAftercare Support
Clients engaged in a rehab aftercare program have completed active addiction treatment and are receiving services designed to promote their sustained sobriety. Drug rehab aftercare typically encompasses a wide variety of medical, mental health, and social services meant to facilitate clients' reintegration into their home, workplace, and community. Clients typically collaborate with their case manager and/or recovery team to identify and access the services they need, often including peer coaching, career counseling, and care referrals.
12-step icon12-Step
12-step programs are addiction recovery models based on Alcoholics Anonymous (AA). A number of substance abuse programs (including some drug and alcohol rehab centers) use the 12 steps as a basis for treatment. Beginning steps involve admitting powerlessness over the addiction and creating a spiritual basis for recovery. Middle steps including making direct amends to those who've been hurt by the addiction, and the final step is to assist others in addiction recovery in the same way. 12-Step offshoots including Narcotics Anonymous (NA), Cocaine Anonymous (CA), Dual Recovery Anonymous (DRA), Sex and Love Addicts Anonymous (SLAA) and Gamblers Anonymous (GA).
sober-living iconSober Living Homes
Red Rock Recovery Center’s Transitional Living Program is a 12 step-based, accountability oriented environment where residents will live for the duration of their stay. Transitional living programs are strictly gender specific. Residents will live in a highly structured environment for the purpose of engaging in working the 12-steps and practicing principles of recovery. Members of each house will be required to find a sponsor and begin engaging in 12-step work, obtain employment, and practice the principle of being fully self-supporting as well as engage in peer and staff driven accountability.
heart-hands iconIntervention Services
A drug intervention in Colorado is necessary when someone needs help with substance abuse but is unwilling to stop using despite multiple negative consequences. Intervention services are available to walk family and friends through a step-by-step process of planning and executing the intervention. A successful intervention requires careful planning and set-up as well as appropriate follow-up. Intervention services can be crucial to carrying out each of these steps.
partial-hospitalization iconPartial Hospitalization Program
For those that don't require round-the-clock care, a partial hospitalization program (PHP) is a short-term option that can be used as a step-down treatment or as an alternative to intensive hospitalization. PHP treatment requires up to 5 days a week of commitment where you'll receive 6 to 8 hours of support every day. While a partial hospitalization program typically requires a commute, telehealth may be available. PHP treatment costs can vary but are often covered by most insurance.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Professional services are often necessary to recover from addiction. Drug rehab in Colorado provides the expert services needed to address the complex issues of addiction and help individuals start their recovery journey.

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.
lgbtq-program thumbnail image
LGBTQ Program
Recovery is most successful when clients feel accepted and validated by their peers and treatment providers. Facilities that offer LGBTQ-inclusive programming are committed to creating a safe space where everyone can grow and recover without fear of judgment or discrimination. They will have dedicated policies in place to create a safe and supportive environment that fosters free expression.
military-program thumbnail image
Military Program
Serving in the military is both mentally and physically challenging, and can result in trauma that persists even after combat ends. Military programs are tailored to the specific and often complex needs of active duty personnel, veterans, and military families. Clients often access these programs through the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a modified form of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a treatment designed to help people understand and ultimately affect the relationship between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. DBT is often used for individuals who struggle with self-harm behaviors, such as self-mutilation (cutting) and suicidal thoughts, urges, or attempts. It has been proven clinically effective for those who struggle with out-of-control emotions and mental health illnesses like Borderline Personality Disorder.

Red Rock Recovery Center provides equine-assisted exercises and activities to deepen each client’s self-awareness, to face personal issues, make sense of the thoughts they carry, address body tension/numbness, and to face the burdens of the past. The six-week course is designed to open doors of growth in a non-judgmental environment and to provide healing from within. Safety, trust and control become the foundation from which each individual will learn and grow from within and in the environment around them.

Experiential therapy is a form of therapy in which clients are encouraged to surface and work through subconscious issues by engaging in real-time experiences. Experiential therapy departs from traditional talk therapy by involving the body, and having clients engage in activities, movements, and physical and emotional expression. This can involve role-play or using props (which can include other people). Experiential therapy can help people process trauma, memories, and emotion quickly, deeply, and in a lasting fashion, leading to substantial and impactful healing.

EMDR is a therapeutic modality originally developed to help process trauma. In an EMDR session, a patient is prompted to undergo eye movements that mimic those of REM sleep. This is accomplished by watching a therapist's finger move back and forth across, or following a bar of light. The goal is repetitive sets of eye movements that help the brain reprocess memory, which can significantly reduce the intensity of remembered traumatic incidents. Associated memories can heal simultaneously, leaving patients significantly calmer, more stable, and more emotionally relaxed.

The Family program is a weekend intensive program that is designed to educate clients and client families about alcoholism, addiction, codependence and recovery. Their goal is to help the entire family understand how they are all affected by substance abuse and how to start the recovery process together. Program includes psycho-education, communication exercises, handouts, role-play and discussions about the effects of addiction on the family system and how to recover from it. Family program will explore dysfunctional family dynamics that are shared by the majority of the families dealing with addictions. Families will learn healthy ways of communication and relating to create the family they desire.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Life skills trainings involve all the skills a person must have in order to function successfully in the world. These include time management, career guidance, money management, and effective communication. Truly successful addiction recovery is based on the ability to not only live substance-free, but to thrive. Life skills teaches the practical necessities of functioning in society, which sets clients up for success in life, and therefore sobriety.

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

Red Rock Recovery center is a complete joke. I do not know anything about the Red Rock recovery group, but I was an admitted to the Colorado Mental Health services group in January. The program boasts a “DBT intensive mental health group,” but this is not in fact a DBT group. The therapist who runs the group, Stephani is very nice, but she is not a good therapist. She struggles to manage the group and is often unprepared for groups(keep in mind your insurance is being billed close to 1,100 dollars a day for this), Stephani is not a confident therapist and clients were observed to railroad her regularly. She runs the same group several times and is often trying to rummage through copies she ran that morning during “meditation” time for the patients to prepare for group. The group doesn’t appear to have any real curriculum or oversight. Upon admission, you will be told you will meet with a therapist twice per week individually, but that’s not going to happen. Therapy sessions with Stephani are similar to talking to a wall(or her talking about herself and her 3 children), so perhaps the twice per week therapy wouldn’t be worth it anyway. They will talk to people without releases of information and violate your privacy however they can. It is very evident the owners are completely after money and not your well being. While this is of course a business and they need to be paid, but they don’t even try to hide the fact they want your money. Most all of their therapists are either close to retirement and trying to just do enough “time” to retire or they are straight out of school. Any good therapist they have ever had stays there briefly and then moves on to private practice. The owner is extremely full of himself and boasts the program is known “nationwide,” but coming from Betty Ford and having no recollection of this program, besides a quick google search, I had never heard of them. The program itself has an “out to get you attitude” so, if you are on some level of probation or pre trial, beware, they will have no qualms about trying to “catch” you doing anything they can. Stephani very clearly favors members of the group(especially the men) and this has been noticed by any woman in the group. I did have a good experience with Cole and Cook. Both are professional and truly care about the people who walk through the doors. Gracie is also a fantastic therapist, but they lost her to moving on to private practice. If you are looking for quality care, look elsewhere. You will not gain anything from this group.

Red Rock Recovery Center was a beacon of hope during one of the darkest times in my life. From the moment I arrived, the staff treated me with compassion, respect, and unwavering support. They truly understood what I was going through and provided not just a place to heal, but the tools and guidance I needed to rebuild my life. The program at RRR is structured yet deeply personal, offering a balance of therapy, education, and community that made all the difference in my recovery. They didn’t just help me get sober—they helped me rediscover myself, build resilience, and develop the confidence to move forward. Now, a year later, I’m beyond grateful for the life I have today, and I owe so much of that to Red Rock Recovery Center. If you or a loved one is struggling and looking for a place that truly cares, I can’t recommend RRR highly enough. They don’t just offer treatment—they offer hope, healing, and a future worth fighting for.
