This office has mastered the art of being greedy and deceptive while trying to cover up misdeeds with excuses and smiles. People are in business to make money, but someone's mental health determines how they view the world, which determines how they would survive in it. In 2010 I was thrown off by my psychiatrist when she became visibly upset, because my therapist did not submit the office notes for my session, which meant I did my job and he didn't. I explained to my family doctor the discourteous and unprofessional service/care I had been provided AFTER my time with my therapist/quit coach. Since that time, my son became very sick. His newly discovered psychosis was scary and frustrating. We finally got him admitted to the local hospital, and got him on meds and the follow up doctor was Dr. Donaldson. We should probably be on first name basis, because I've called more than 15 times in 3 years to report breakthrough symptoms that included hallucinations and delusional conversation. By 2023 his behavior had become so far past manageable, that we had to seek help from the courts. We began late February, and it wasn't until the middle of May that she responded to the subpoena request issued by the judge with a barely legible report. It took from February to May to submit the only paper we needed to get guardianship over my son so that we could get him some of the help he needed in a hospital. That year, we were also in communication with Bill Ferry, who promised to help my son get in an apartment that only Centerstone clients are eligible for. He won't return phone calls or messages after he said Dorion met the 5 criteria points to get in a place, and he was close to the top of the list. I hope it isn't because he's a former police officer in Bloomington, Indiana and thats why he and his buddies, decided my son wasn't deserving of that help. Over this past month my son met with his psychiatrist, and 2 weeks later got his scheduled meds in the office. Along with an injection he takes oral meds to manage his symptoms. He needed a prior authorization to refill his oral meds. It took more than 3 weeks before I got a return call about the issue, and that person left early on the last business day and my son had to wait the entire weekend for the only person on staff to come in and complete the process. My son has a psychosis and it took so long to get the meds he's refusing to take them (paranoia). I was told that he could only receive his injection every 28 days or 2 times a year (every 6 months). There is in fact a dose administered every 21 days for people like my son who have breakthrough symptoms. There would be no need to take an oral med for his psychosis. Dr. Donaldson already knew that, but I guess it's more profitable to keep patients behaving strangely, and feeling the reactions and side eye people give them. From January 31st until yesterday, I've been in panic trying to get them to change the dose. The girl who called me said my sons appointment was set for May 6 and Dr. Donaldson and his new psychiatrist said he should wait until then, even though I mentioned it when they requested I come to his appointment on February 13th. I can go on forever talking about the mix up in their system held up my son's SSI determination, as they sent a few office notes and record of admission to hospitals for his illness. I told the girl from yesterday that if they can't do their jobs, I need a new doctor. She said, You can do whatever you want to do. So I mocked her, hung up, and then called the Attorney General to make a complaint. I failed my son by not following my instincts and continuing to believe racism wasn't playing a part in their blatant disregard for the value of his life which all starts from his mind. Shame on them all!! I accidentally erased my review from yesterday, so I guess my review is complete without the insults about dated hairstyles and what not.Edit: Since the day I made this review, I've received a few calls about my son regarding appointments and medication.

Accepted Insurance

Centerstone Bloomington South Rogers Street works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Sliding scale payments are based on a client's income and family size. The goal is to make treatment affordable to everyone. By taking these factors into account, addiction recovery care providers help ensure that your treatment does not become a financial burden to you or your family, eliminating one barrier to care.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
If you need some flexibility and choice when it comes to your recovery, outpatient rehab programs are a great option because they do not require intensive inpatient treatment. Clients remain in their own homes and may continue to work or attend school while in active treatment. Outpatient treatment typically includes addiction counseling and continuing recovery education, including courses in self-care and relapse prevention. Medication assisted treatment (MAT) is available in many treatment centers for clients in opioid and/or alcohol recovery.
inpatient iconInpatient
Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.
intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient
Persons who require high-level support but who do not wish to leave their homes or communities may enroll in an intensive outpatient program (IOP). Clients typically commit to a minimum of nine treatment hours across three therapeutic sessions per week, but many programs offer up to 20 hours of care weekly. Most intensive outpatient rehabs provide a combination of psychotherapy, recovery education, and holistic care. Medication assisted treatment (MAT) is widely available for those in alcohol or opioid recovery.
heart-hands iconIntervention Services
When families plan a drug intervention in Indiana, the goal is to create self-awareness in their loved one, so they acknowledge the need for treatment and get help. A professional interventionist can work with the individual's family members to organize this intervention and provide direction for follow-up. During the intervention, loved ones share how the individual's substance abuse has affected them, and the interventionist adds a clinical perspective on how treatment can help the situation.
24-hour icon24-Hour Clinical Care
When you receive 24-hour clinical care in Indiana, you'll be under constant supervision from highly trained medical staff. Nurses, doctors, and addiction specialists provide medications and other treatment to address withdrawal symptoms and any additional medical needs. Common medications that are prescribed include valium and Librium to relieve alcohol withdrawal, and anti-depressants to relieve cocaine withdrawal. For opioid abuse, doctors may prescribe methadone or naltrexone to manage cravings and clonidine to treat high blood pressure.
aftercare iconAftercare Support
Clients receiving support in a rehab aftercare program have completed inpatient care and may also be preparing to exit formal outpatient care. Outpatient services are typically categorized as rehab aftercare, but these services often continue beyond the cessation of formal treatment. Rehab aftercare services are designed to promote life-long recovery through comprehensive, wraparound care, which may include medical, mental health, and social services. These programs are usually created in collaboration with the client's case manager and care team.
12-step icon12-Step
12 step programs foster participants' long-term sobriety through personal growth rooted in spiritual principles, though religious affiliation is not mandatory. Most 12 step meetings are non-denominational but are based on the belief in a higher power. Participants learn to understand and address the causes of their addiction, accept responsibility for their choices, and relinquish control for that which cannot be changed. Regular group meetings and mentoring by a self-selected sponsor are required.
partial-hospitalization iconPartial Hospitalization Program
A partial hospitalization program (PHP) can provide intensive rehab on a short-term basis. While PHP treatment typically requires a commute, telehealth may be available. PHP treatment costs can vary but are often covered by most insurance. The program duration can vary to meet your specific needs and require you to meet for a minimum of 20 hours a week for an average of 90 days. PHP Treatment services often include relapse prevention strategies, medication management, individual and group counseling, and other behavioral therapy interventions.
medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
When removing addictive substances from your body under the care of licensed medical professionals, the process is called medically assisted detox. Once you've become physically dependent on substances like alcohol, opioids, or benzodiazepines, quitting can be uncomfortable or even dangerous. To minimize risks to your health and overall discomfort, a team of medical professionals monitors you 24/7 and provides medications if necessary (like Suboxone or methadone) to ease potential symptoms of withdrawal.

Treatments

Mental health rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from mental illnesses like bipolar disorder, clinical depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, and more. Mental health professionals at these facilities are trained to understand and treat mental health issues, both in individual and group settings.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.
lgbtq-program thumbnail image
LGBTQ Program
Recovery is most successful when clients feel accepted and validated by their peers and treatment providers. Facilities that offer LGBTQ-inclusive programming are committed to creating a safe space where everyone can grow and recover without fear of judgment or discrimination. They will have dedicated policies in place to create a safe and supportive environment that fosters free expression.
military-program thumbnail image
Military Program
Serving in the military is both mentally and physically challenging, and can result in trauma that persists even after combat ends. Military programs are tailored to the specific and often complex needs of active duty personnel, veterans, and military families. Clients often access these programs through the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).

Clinical Services

During trauma therapy in Indiana, your therapist helps you process traumatic experiences and learn how they affect your emotional, mental, and physical responses. You learn effective coping strategies that help to reduce the symptoms and improve your mental health and well being.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

The goal of family therapy in Indiana is to empower family members to effectively support their loved one's recovery. Therapists work with family members to develop the skills needed to manage stress and resolve conflicts successfully. This fosters a positive environment that is conducive to long term sobriety.

My therapist is incredible. I trust her completely. She is very professional and intelligent. She treats me with dignity and compassion. She's helped me accept myself with love. I look forward to our sessions. She is the number one reason I stay with Centerstone. We have never met in person outside of Telehealth and I've made more progress in every way with her than any other therapist I have seen in person in over 30 years.

Thank you, James! We love to hear such great things about our staff. We can’t wait to share this comment with our team!

I was a patient with Centerstone for over a decade but recently switched to another mental health place. Best decision I ever made honestly. Here's the thing about Centerstone I asked for a Psychiatrist all the years I was a patient and not once did I see one. Not once. The problem with Centerstone is that the med doctors you see will just prescribe meds and send you on your way. The last time was the last time for me they prescribed me a medication that I can't take, I told them I couldn't take it and they still prescribed it. I said that's it. No more. I'm the driver of my bus, not them. They might help some people, but after a decade they didn't help me at all. I'm finally getting real help with a Psychiatrist and a Therapist and am finally on the right medications.
