When one pays premium price for health care (out of pocket) ito examine and correctly diagnose a medical condition (possible fracture or broken bone in this instance), if the clinician is not a medical doctor, this should be clearly conveyed to the client so they decline service and go elsewhere where medical doctors are employed. I was not seen by an MD, rather a DO, who did not know anything about my injury and merely referred me to orthopedic Drs. at clinics I told him I would NOT go to since I already have an orthopedic Dr. with whom I am working. He did not even manipulate the joint or try to better determine the nature of the injury. He could not even enlarge the digital Xray that he ordered, in order to determine if there was a dislocation or fracture. I also asked for a prescription for a persistent cough, which was supposedly verified by the DO listening to my lungs through a stethoscope through two layers of thick cotton shirts, not by direct contact with my skin. Credible, scholarly medical articles found on line indicate the unreliability and therefore the efficacy of such practice. I did NOT get any measurable amount of medical care or attention that is worth the price that FAIRVIEW Clinics will attempt to bill. I'm fighting this one. In any other sphere of commerce, if a business does not deliver, there is little or no charge. The health care industry should be no different.

I was having a odd feeling in the center of my chest. This was the closest Urgent Care and they did a great job if getting me in on short notice. The Dr. was very thorough and explained everything to me. After they ran a number of tests and determined that it wasn't anything serious, the Dr. was great about walking me through my next steps and things I should get checked. I wouldn't hesitate to come back to this clinic in the future.March 2025Was in for a blood draw 7:15 appointment. I wanted the first appointment of the morning so I didn't have to wait around if they were busy during the day. Nobody showed up to open the lab until 7:28. Then I still needed to wait another 5 minutes until they were ready for me. Why send appointment reminders to patients if you aren't going to keep the appointment. I probably should start sending appointment reminders to Fairview so they remember what time they scheduled my appointment.

This clinic is NOT in the business for helping or even caring. I have been treated HORRIBLY. No one listens. You can INSTANTLY tell who they are getting kick backs from! The vaccine injured WHICH THEY DONT ACKNOWLEDGE- said the only thing that will help me , (after being cut off from listing my symptoms ) was a sleep study and pointed her finger at me and said and FOR SURE the only way your going to feel better is if I get another Covid shot! Then proceeded to charge me $1800 to ESTABLISH a relationship. UNREAL! I told her problems that would NO WAY improve with sleep! Which I didn t even MENTION OR COMPLAIN about! HORRIBLE HORRIBLE treatment! My husband had a whole different review to write! Awful! Shut it down! Where are the drs who CARE???

Other Forms of Payment

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient
Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) are for those who want or need a very structured treatment program but who also wish to live at home and continue with certain responsibilities (such as work or school). IOP substance abuse treatment programs vary in duration and intensity, and certain outpatient rehab centers will offer individualized treatment programs.

Treatments

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

Mental health rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from mental illnesses like bipolar disorder, clinical depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, and more. Mental health professionals at these facilities are trained to understand and treat mental health issues, both in individual and group settings.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Whether a marriage or other committed relationship, an intimate partnership is one of the most important aspects of a person's life. Drug and alcohol addiction affects both members of a couple in deep and meaningful ways, as does rehab and recovery. Couples therapy and other couples-focused treatment programs are significant parts of exploring triggers of addiction, as well as learning how to build healthy patterns to support ongoing sobriety.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a modified form of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a treatment designed to help people understand and ultimately affect the relationship between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. DBT is often used for individuals who struggle with self-harm behaviors, such as self-mutilation (cutting) and suicidal thoughts, urges, or attempts. It has been proven clinically effective for those who struggle with out-of-control emotions and mental health illnesses like Borderline Personality Disorder.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Nutrition therapy, aka medical nutrition therapy (MNT), is a way of treating physical, emotional, and medical conditions through diet. Specific dietary plans are designed by professional nutritionists or registered dietitians, and patients follow them in order to positively affect their physical and mental health.

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

I don't think they give mental health the importance it deserves. Is really difficult to make an appt for this topic, and clinics about this don't have enough resources or meds.

Wish I would have looked at the reviews first! 600$ for a five minute call with a doctor. Just For the doctor to prescribe the wrong medicine. What an outrageous bill.

This is our neighborhood urgent care. They have this thing called “call ahead now” which we use because we have a little girl and waiting for hours is terrible when she is sick. I’ve used call ahead twice and It doesn’t expedite the process at all. We waited in the waiting room for over an hour, finally got back to a room and waited for over an hour. Of course I have a sick 2 year old, the nurses try to get in and out so quick and say the doctor will be in soon. I finally went out to the nurse desk where 4 people were sitting looking at their phones and asked when we could see a doctor to get our sick child out of this place. Of course, they couldn’t give me a time. Went back to the room and my child threw up everywhere. Probably because we’ve been waiting in a hot gross room for 1.5hours with the door closed. This place is a joke. I understand that we would have to wait but this is ridiculous and I’m so tired of it. If you have a sick child- don’t come here.

I recently had the misfortune of dealing with Fairview Oxboro clinic, and I can confidently say it was the worst customer service experience I've ever had. I scheduled an appointment well in advance, only to arrive and find out that the clinic had booked me for wrong appointment. When I approached the staff to rectify the mistake, I was met with indifference and a complete lack of accountability. Not only did they refuse to acknowledge their error, but they also made no effort to accommodate me or reschedule my appointment in a timely manner. The staff were rude, unhelpful, and seemed more interested in shifting the blame than actually assisting a patient in need. This level of incompetence and unprofessionalism is unacceptable, especially in a healthcare setting where patients rely on accurate scheduling and compassionate support. I strongly advise anyone considering this clinic to look elsewhere. Your time and health are too important to be entrusted to a facility that clearly doesn't value its patients or their concerns. I regret taking my kids all this year to this clinic😡

Dr Mark R. Nielsen I have never had an encounter with a doctor who was more poorly trained in active communication in my life. He seemed actively threatened by my asking questions about the "facts" he was telling me, and seemed threatened when I pointed out that at least one thing he had said was not true. I have never met a doctor more combative or threatened by a patient asking questions or pointing out problems with his arguments/answers. And he seemed personally offended by my having a mask on in the doctor's office. He questioned me about my mask, wanting to know if I was sick and treating me like a lunatic for answering about covid and bird flu being up again (mid pandemic numbers according to sewer testing). He insisted that infections of the ears and sinuses had nothing to do with encephalitis or meningitis, which is a well-established disease progression. He insisted that one had to be able to report active symptoms to have something wrong, to which I told him, "I don't have anything wrong right now, I want to talk about my health with a doctor who can explain things to me." at which point he proceeded to insist that I have to have symptoms to have something wrong, and that there's nothing he can do for me today unless I can tell him what I want him to do for me today. His final statement was something to the effect of, "If you won't trust my opinion as someone with 40 years of medical experience that there's nothing wrong with you right now, then we're done here." I reiterated that nothing's wrong right now, my stuff is resolving despite their opinion that there was nothing to resolve and I'm just as stressed and anxious as before my symptoms started to resolve (so they weren't caused by the stress or anxiety).
