I walked these halls 10 years ago. Tim Helmek (I forgot if that’s correct spelling) saved my life with what he taught me. I didn’t stay sober that then but when the time came I knew what to do to stay sober because of him. Just celebrated 7.5 years. I can’t say enough good things about this place.

My last stay at Hazelden Plymouth was about 2.5 years ago, when I was 17. At first, I was nervous and resentful of my parents for sending me there but I’m glad they did. The facility was amazing (and the food was great too). My psychologist, David Wells, was very educated and helped me make real progress. My counselors, Joanne and Denise, were exactly what I needed. I overdosed on fentanyl three times before coming here, and without Hazelden I truly don’t think I’d be alive today. I’m now 2.5 years sober, and the education and support I received at Hazelden continues to help me in other parts of my life. I’m very grateful for my time here and highly recommend Hazelden to anyone who needs help.

Well if your really trying to get clean and sober it’s a start you just have to be a self motivated individual and stay away from the bull because it’s easy to become apart of the daily B.S. of fake it to you make it you do get exactly what you put in to it if you put nothing into you your sobriety you will not get anything out of it and if your just looking for a place to rest over the winter not recommended by me because you will not last long because you probably will be using and this is a cold hard fact someone will tell on you and you will be tested and discharged I’ve seen it all in the two years that I lived there and there is not a daily routine other that the chore that you are assigned which is when you get there and it is an unpaid chore however to do receive I believe it is 102.00 every month on the first of the month and after 30 days of an unpaid job you can sign up for a paid job which I think you can receive up to 65 dollars extra a month in your pocket and the rest goes on your books until you Successfully discharge or the lesser unsuccessful discharge either way you will receive you money on your book and you will receive a free cab ride to your destination if discharged day or night unless you have your own vehicle or call a friend or family member to come pick you up this is not the hangout or a good place to pick women or a man up remember there just as sick as you are dealing with an addiction and need to focus on their recovery I’ve seen so many walk through those door and because one may think it a joke or because you can take up to 20 days a month and most of us think we can or this is the right time to get drunk or get high because no one will know anything but it always comes out in an action or something else that you shouldn’t play with your sobriety it’s not a good feeling when your asked to leave and you don’t get a fair time to explain your side because this place Mission Lodge is a Co-Ed facility for men and women their more for women than men so watch out for yourself now all of the staff in not against you or look down on you however there are some who may or may not care for you and will tell lies to get you discharged for personal reason and who will Retaliate against you which is against facility policies However you can come back this with going to the director and truly they will take a look at it and staff member will be reprimanded that’s when the retaliation comes about and they will pick on you do any little thing and they will try to get you discharge but overall places in a bad place if you really have a substance-abuse problem try it out if you don’t I wouldn’t waste your time because you will be discharged personal opinion

Our son recently was discharged from this facility because he was not following the program. We know it had to do with HIM and his unwillingness to try and don’t put any of that on the staff. Everyone was so down to earth, non judgemental, patient and just all around kind to us from the day we reached out. They kept us in the loop with everything that was happening and were always gracious to us during random pop ins or family visits with our other crazy kids. The rooms and especially bathrooms were very well kept and clean, our son LOVED the food, and even though the entire experience was positive for us I think the most impressive thing was how caring and helpful they were when it was time for our son to go. They kept him longer than they had to and made him feel loved and heard in our last meeting together when I picked him up. They also went above and beyond helping us place him in another facility by providing all necessary information, paperwork and referrals etc - things that would’ve taken me weeks to do on my own. Thank you for the work you’re doing with these kids, On Belay!
