Heartwood has been probably the best experience I've had in treatment. All the therapists are great at what they do and sincerely want the best for you in your new sober life and are willing to go above and beyond to help you achieve that. The Gym is great and the food is amazing thanks to Chef Anthony. Shout out to Ty, Zane, Nick, Cory, Marshall, Tommy but honestly all the staff deserve to be noticed. If your really looking to change your life, this is the place to be.

Accepted Insurance

Heartwood Recovery works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

12-step icon12-Step

12 step programs promote participants' sustained sobriety through rigorous and ongoing peer coaching and personal spiritual growth. Participants routinely attend 12 step meetings, which are available multiple times per day, 365 days per year in most communities. This ensures that those in recovery have prompt access to the structure and support they need when they need it. These programs use spiritual precepts to address the root causes of addiction and encourage compassion, self-awareness, forgiveness, accountability, and acceptance.

aftercare iconAftercare Support

Rehab aftercare programs are based on a model of continuing care and the premise that recovery is a life-long process requiring ongoing client support. Many rehab aftercare services include outpatient care, but clients often continue to receive support after being discharged from formal treatment. Case managers and care teams typically collaborate with clients to design their long-term care plan, which may include peer coaching, career counseling, and 12 step program induction, among other services.

inpatient iconInpatient

Inpatient rehab programs are geared toward clients in early recovery. They also provide intensive support for clients in crisis and those at an increased relapse risk. Clients receive housing and meals while in inpatient care, allowing them to focus solely on their recovery. Most programs prioritize addiction counseling but may draw on various psychotherapeutic modalities, including CBT, DBT, RBT, trauma therapy, and motivational interviewing. Life skills training and holistic therapies are also common in inpatient care.

intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient

Intensive outpatient programs offer high-level care for clients as an increased risk of relapse, including those in early recovery, those with a strong history of relapse, and those experiencing a crisis. Intensive outpatient treatment typically requires clients to engage in nine to 20 hours of care weekly, with treatment modalities that combine psychotherapy and recovery education, and holistic therapies, such as acupuncture and animal therapy. Medication assisted treatment (MAT) is also common in alcohol and/or opioid recovery.

outpatient iconOutpatient

After completing some form of inpatient care, many clients transition or step down to an outpatient rehab, while some choose to transition from detox directly into outpatient care. High-intensity outpatient programming, including partial hospitalization (PHP) and intensive outpatient (IOP) is widely available for clients in early recovery, those leaving detox, and those at an elevated relapse risk. Clients in outpatient care generally engage in robust addiction counseling and recovery education, and some also receive medication assisted treatment (MAT).

partial-hospitalization iconPartial Hospitalization Program

Commonly known as "day treatment," a partial hospitalization program (PHP) offers intensive addiction treatment while allowing you to return home each day. It can serve as an alternative to inpatient hospitalization or as a step-down option. Depending on your needs, PHP treatment typically averages 90 days with a weekly requirement of 6-8 hours a day. PHP treatment offers a variety of therapeutic interventions such as individual counseling, group therapy, and psychoeducation. Oftentimes PHP treatment can be fully covered by insurance.

sober-living iconSober Living Homes

Residents of a sober living home in Texas reside at the halfway house with others who have agreed to abstain from substances and practice sober-living skills. The relationships and accountability formed here can help individuals strengthen their mental health and achieve long-term recovery. Residents share common spaces such as kitchens and back yards, share meals together, and share household responsibilities such as cooking and cleaning.

Treatments

Alcoholism occurs when a person becomes physically and psychologically dependent on alcohol. Attending a professional alcohol rehab in Texas can provide customized intervention methods to address the physical, mental, and relational challenges of addiction.

During rehab in Texas, you'll deal with underlying issues that contribute to addiction. By addressing these challenges and learning healthy ways to cope with them, you'll develop strategies that help you live a drug-free lifestyle.

Texas's specialized dual-diagnosis addiction treatment programs prioritize comprehensive care for individuals with co-occurring substance use disorders and mental health conditions. These programs offer diverse levels of care, including outpatient, inpatient, and partial hospitalization options. Evidence-based therapies, trauma-informed care, group work, and educational workshops help treat both conditions at the same time and give you the tools to sustain mental health and sobriety.

With a co-occurring drug or alcohol addiction and a mental health disorder, you'll want to seek out a dual diagnosis treatment center. These specialized rehabs offer services to address both conditions at the same time, including 24/7 access to medical and mental health professionals. By treating both disorders at the same time, it drastically increases your chances of successful long-term recovery.

mental-health iconMental Health And Substance Abuse
opium iconOpioid Addiction

Substance abuse treatment is available in Texas for anyone who's struggling with drug or alcohol addiction. These programs usually provide a comprehensive assessment and individualized treatment plan, and include evidence-based treatments, like therapies such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) to reframe unhelpful coping strategies, and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) to help with emotional regulation and stress.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image

Adult Program

Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
program-for-men thumbnail image

Program For Men

Men face specific challenges and concerns when seeking addiction treatment. Gender-specific recovery programs help them tackle these issues head-on in an environment that's focused, targeted, and distraction-free. It also gives them the opportunity to connect with and learn from other men who have been through a similar journey and can offer support for the next step.

Clinical Services

Individual therapy offers you a confidential space to address the complexities of your drug or alcohol addiction. Your therapist guides these personalized sessions to help develop self awareness and manage stress. This promotes sustained sobriety and overall well being.

The purpose of family therapy is to create a supportive and understanding family dynamic within the family unit. Therapists help individual members to identify and change harmful behavior patterns and improve communication. This provides a stable foundation for the family and their loved one's recovery.

Peer support is an important aspect of group therapy sessions for drug and alcohol addiction. As you and your peers share stories and encourage each other, it fosters a sense of community and belonging that helps you process your feelings and reduces the sense of isolation that is associated with addiction.

The goal of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) in Texas is to change thought patterns, which leads to changes in behavior. Specific techniques during CBT can include self talk, SMART goals, journaling, and positive activities.

Treatment that takes a dialectical behavior therapy approach focuses on four strategies. Distress tolerance will help you accept and tolerate intense emotions. Emotional regulation will teach you to manage those emotions. Mindfulness will keep you in the present moment instead of regret or worry. Interpersonal effectiveness will teach you to manage your relationships.

These men are amazing at what they do. The lack of greed and profit motive at this place is very clear and they truly do love and care for every person in an individual sense. The counselors are top notch and are very educated on their profession. The Recovery advocates are professional and very knowledgeable about what it takes to get people sober. The food is great and the chefs are very good at their job. I highly recommend this place to any man who is interested in getting and staying sober it is a tight community and give you all the tools you need to succeed in sobriety. This place gave me anew outlook on what rehabilitation and recovery is all about.

They have literal chefs cooking the food, which is amazing, and the staff treat you as much like equals as could be afforded by a treatment center; teaching, spending time with clients, engaging in fellowship opportunities, and they actually care about you. It’s not centered around authoritarian leadership or old school rigid big book doctrines (some places preach that so hard they’ll make you go on weird contracts, I’ve seen people walk around with luggage for three days straight or invisibility contracts where clients have to pretend other clients don’t exist) but one that guides with love. Outings every Friday-movies, Barton creek, bowling, and their programming is pretty heavily structured during the week but laid back during the weekends. Beautiful gym and pickleball courts. The owner is in it because he cares.

Response from the owner
Hi Bennett! 😊 We're delighted that you enjoyed the culinary experience and felt respected and cared for by our team. It's exciting to hear that you appreciated our unique approach and the variety of activities we offer. Thanks a lot for your kind words and support, we truly appreciate it!

Heartwood is in my opinion is the best recovery treatment. Their personal approach to recovery is awesome. They not only teach you about the 12 steps but also help you learn more about yourself and why your in the position you find yourself in. While there you begin to build a fellowship not only with your peers, but also with the staff. You have a real care team working with you 24/7. You never have to be alone again because are truly apart of a recovery community that goes beyond Heartwood. I feel as though for the first time in a really long time, someone truly loves and cares about me and those I've had the honor of sharing my recovery with. Not only that heartwood doesn't just stop after you have finished the residential part,no they remain active in your life with the alumni. It's truly awesome. If your ready to make certain steps and want a real chance at life. I would recommend Heartwood. I would like to personal thank Frank,Nick,Ty,Grant ,Zane and the rest of the staff for caring enough about me and my recovery,to help save my life. God bless y'all and the 12 steps program. Sincerely Stephen E. Roy

Absolutely disaster of a program. Poor management from Frank (the owner) on down. I was in their PHP program for 3 weeks while living at their sober living home. They operate under a 3-strike system. This review is written by a former client without so much as a single “strike.” I needed to preface my review by making that known so as to validate my experience. I was suddenly deemed “high-risk” by the clinical staff (ambiguous language which says very little for a reason,) and was given the choice to either join their residential program or leave. This was a disciplinary action taken without merit. I passed every UA (drug screening,) and breathalyzer given. If you or a loved one is considering treatment for substance abuse, seek help elsewhere. Keep in mind, staff heavily encourages these reviews from specific clients so take these reviews with a healthy amount of skepticism. Grant, their case manager and alumni coordinator and Zane, their Recovery Technician were the only bright spots. Structurally and culturally, this program isn’t beneficial to those getting an introduction to a lifestyle rooted in recovery. My experience was so awful that I’m engaging with the regulatory body (Health and Human Services Commission) that oversees their program. Spare yourself or a loved one the headache.

Response from the owner
All decisions and recommendations at Heartwood Recovery are made in the best interest of the client and/or the community. We stand by our clinical team and their recommendations. We wish you the best.
