About Legacy Clinical Consultants – Closed
Legacy Clinical Consultants, located in the charming historic district of Geneva, Illinois, used to provide outpatient addiction and mental health treatment. Their central location meant clients could easily get to their office. Just a short walk away, clients could stop in after therapy sessions at the Buttermilk Cafe, a favorite of many locals. The banks of the Fox River is also within driving distance.
Support for Alcohol and Opioid Recovery
This center worked with people facing alcohol and opioid use disorders. Several counselors had special certifications and a strong background in addiction treatment. Clients met with therapists on a face to face basis, but they could also participate in group sessions.
Personalized Therapy Designed for the Whole Person
Therapists took a person-centered and holistic approach to recovery. Each treatment plan was individualized. Therapy focused on identifying triggers and developing practical skills for long term sobriety.
Help for the Entire Family
Since they focused on personalized care, they brought in family members during treatment. Addiction always affects the entire family, but not all treatment centers offer family counseling. One client mentioned their positive experience in their family’s sessions.
Community Education and Speaking Engagements
This center provided workshops and presentations on a variety of mental health topics. One popular session was on substance use and anxiety. Their team spoke at schools and in professional settings to raise awareness about mental health.
Although their Geneva location is now closed, clients can still access addiction treatment services at one of their other offices. Local clients seemed to be satisfied with their services, and they are missed in the community.

Addiction Treatments
Treatments
The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.
Drug rehab in Illinois is designed to help people recover from addiction to a number of substances. The length of each program and its intensity tend to vary, and the plan of care is based on your individual needs.
A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.
Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Clinical Services
In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.
