About Lifelinx Corporation

Located in Guilford, Connecticut is the Lifelinx Corporation. Here you’ll find a sober living home that can address struggles you’re working through related to a drug, alcohol or substance use disorder. The residential home offers a supportive recovery environment and you’ll work with a team of knowledgeable staff and others in recovery who will help you build the skills you need to lead a sober future.

Support for Sobriety After Addiction Treatment

This facility is a sober living home rather than a treatment facility. This means it’s meant for people who have already completed rehab but want a place to live where they have accountability and are around peers in recovery while they rebuild their lives.

There are programs here for young adults, adults who’ve relapsed, and older adults who might also be struggling with other behavioral health or medical issues. There’s also a strong focus on community, and you’ll find that you’ll be encouraged to work with others in the recovery program and build meaningful connections when things feel overwhelming.

There are peer support specialists here too who do a really good job helping you work through specific challenges and motivating you throughout the later stages of recovery.

Gender Specific Transitional Living

This organization has three gender specific sober living homes that you can connect with once you’ve completed your treatment program elsewhere. This allows you to be around people in similar situations who can relate to your experience with addiction as a man or a woman.

I think the people of Guilford should know that this agency, LifeLinx, has applied for grants and received grants of several thousand dollars on a yearly basis from the Guilford Community Fund. I’ve been informed that the grant applications reports the grant money would be used for a transportation service and a scattered site apartment program. LifeLinx has no transportation program or a scattered site program. Getting grants under false pretenses is charity fraud. They claim online to be a credible organization but there are no house meetings or drug testing, adequate monitoring and supervision. Instead there is negligence I’ve supplied them with drug testing kits that go unused. Residents aren’t even required to attend 12 step meetings, they’re told it’s optional. To make matters worse, in 2023 alone , these so-called sober houses had over 50 emergency calls to police and ambulances, including a fatal overdose of a 37 year old lifelong resident of Branford who was deceased for two days before he was found. I’ve seen residents at the Guilford house catch the bus that stops by there to get into New Haven to score drugs. I’ve been told by other residents that dealers have bought drugs to the house for one of the residents on a regular basis. Another elderly gentleman died in the Guilford house the following year., 2024. People there have been charged full price to be housed in the attic and even on a couch in a common area. I’ve witnessed alcohol, crack and opiate use and prostitutes at the houses directly. They are infested with mice and insects. Ive been threatened, and stolen from despite making generous donations, and tended to people intoxicated get medical attention to prevent overdose. There was no narcan there until I was able to get some from the health department. I’ve made complaints to the board president whose response was that she was no longer involved. All other complaints go ignored. Somehow this nonprofit still manages to keep its tax free 501c3 status to run “sober” houses that contribute nothing , and cause trouble for their respective communities. Further investigation is warranted at the state and local level and when confirmed, restitution should be made to the Guilford Community Fund and no organization operating under such circumstances should continue to have non profit, tax exempt status, at least let the public decide.

This place is nothing but a drug den. The owner takes responsibility for nothing. Including deaths of renters of this crack house. As my brother in law had recently over dosed and passed away after not being found for 2 days until the “house manager” finally knocked on the door and realized it was locked from the locks on the door from the inside. Are locks on the inside appropriate to have at a house for recovering addicts? No. Sounds super supportive that they didn’t check on him for 2 days. When this happened my boyfriend contacted the owner Wayne and he said he couldn’t come there. 3 days later he texted my boyfriend and said if there was anything he could do to just let him Know. My bf said yes give me 5 minutes of your time to talk and he ignored him. My bf then asked for the deposit he put down for his brother in the beginning and Wayne proceeded to say he would look into it. There is no support at that house. They do drugs together. Cops are there constantly. 0 support. It needs to be shut down.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.

The goal of a sober living home in Connecticut is to allow individuals in recovery to ease back into normal life and slowly take on traditional responsibilities and tasks. Residents of men's and women's sober living can mostly come and go as they please, but they do have to abide by house rules, which may include a curfew. Other structure includes group meeting attendance, chores, and maintaining a job.

Treatments

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Programs

Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.

Clinical Services

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.
