I've dealt with the VA is several different states now; easily the best clinic I've been too. The medical staff here really did their best to help me; they were constantly following up with me and moving mountains to get me seen by specialty clinics. VA resources are spread thin, so getting seen for specialist care can be difficult/require lots of waiting. Other VA clinics responded by blowing me off, telling me my symptoms weren't severe enough to warrant treatment. My Doctors at the Stamford Clinic advocated for me and got me seen.

They offer supervised medical treatment to safely manage withdrawal symptoms during detoxification. Additional leve | Treatments Programs Payment Options | I personally think that this place is good on some notes I. was admitted here on August 14th and got distarged on November 4th. during my stay there were ups and downs but that's should be expected in all facilities because you are put with a bunch of different people with a bunch of different things going on. One thing that I want and wish for people to understand is that no one is perfect in any way. sometimes it takes more than one time to understand something and that is perfectly fine because life is like gardening. sometimes with the right patients butiful things can grow from it and then it will blossom but in order to let it blossom you have to have patients. Not every facilitie is for everyone and not everyone is the same because if we were life would be boring. So to the people who are looking to help themselves or others just no treatment is not easy nor is life but the more you work at it the more times you fall and fail and get back up is going to make a huge difference in your life or whoever's life. but remember after every storm there is a rainbow find the rainbow for me.

This experience can be scary and hard to navigate without knowing what to expect in an environment full of strangers discussing your private life. But I have to say I ve been attending classes for about 5 months now. And since my initial evaluation with Milissa Flores, one of the lead counselors, she immediately made me feel comfortable and accepted. Walked me through every step of what to expect in classes and from the program as a whole. She makes each person feel welcome and especially as a female in some classes full of men, opens her door to make you feel safe to come to her with any concerns or issues. She leads her groups with an honest open approach, where you can talk about anything - judgment free, while learning the skills needed to move forward coping with triggers and stress without the means of alcohol as a solution. She really gives every person the opportunity to speak at their pace and not push them to feel forced. I can t say the same for every counselor there, or other programs. I m truly thankful for the ease she has made me and others feel, and her help in my continued path of sobriety. She really goes above and beyond always with a smile and positive energy!

I've never dealt with a VA hospital before, and so didn't know what to expect when my father started using their services. I have to say that we have been extremely pleased with what we've experienced. In addition to the very satisfactory medical care he received, another thing that was impressive was the respect with which they treat the veterans. I saw this not only with my father, but with others who I saw in the halls during our visits to their ER and other offices. You could tell that the care they gave sprung from appreciation for their service. Both the doctors and the nurses were always there for us when we needed them. They both made house calls and the nurses were there for us 24/7-- even for emergency house calls in the wee hours of the night/morning.Everything we experienced in our years of interactions with the VA left me with a feeling that socialized medicine could indeed work if done properly. That's not meant to be a political statement, but just an observation of truly good service coming from a government-run agency. My dad recently passed away, so I really want to thank the Northport VA for their service to him. It made a big difference to him and those of us caring for him. I don't know what we would have done without them.

After years of trying everything we could think of, my wife and I finally found Westport House. Our son was admitted quickly and efficiently, and, from that point on, our experience was incredible. After a couple of months we saw a noticeable change in our son. The staff was very timely in their correspondence with us and always treated us appropriately. During his time there, our son became actively involved in Alcoholics Anonymous, obtained employment, and began treating us and others with a level of respect we did not know he was capable of. He stayed there for 7 months, and I can say, it was very much worth every penny. Our son is still sober today and continues to attend the AA meetings that he went to during his time at Westport House. We cannot thank Westport House enough for giving us our son back. After 7 painful years, the change that he was able to make in his life is incredible, and it is all thanks to the great staff and services at Westport House.

They are the reason I have remained so connected to the program, as well as helping me get back on my feet and in sober living and building a community and network in recovery. I have seen some positive reviews here but I ve also seen some negative, and it s a shame those people didn t have the experience I did because these counselors not only saved my life but they have changed it and me for the better. I don t know where I would be right now without their help, guidance, and assistance, and I fully plan on doing everything in my power to stay clean so I can come back one day, share my story for their groups to show that recovery is possible, the program works, and if you allow these amazingly generous women to help you that you too can have a life beyond your wildest dreams.

Just want to say that I'm extremely grateful for mcca and all the ways that the staff members helped me out. So grateful to have my life back, free from the bondage of alcohol, and drugs. But a special shout out to Heather she is the best counselor I could have even imagined, Heather has such a special place in my heart and has motivated me in not just my recovery but also In my life. she is viciously determined to get her clients on the right path and all the people she comes into contact with. I have never seen a one woman army untill I met Heather. She truly is a leader. With great social skills .Heather will sit down in the middle of any day at any time no matter how busy she is ,and make you feel like your the only person in the world. I owe my recovery every ounce of effort due to the love this woman has poured into me and my life. Tomorrow I will wake up , and be two months clean!!! In a new town ,with two jobs, my rent paid up ,and Love In my heart again not just for myself but also for other because of Heather alone.heather is definitely #1 in my book.

Coming to LITC has been a great and transformational experience. The people that come here and work here are all very serious and committed to getting and keeping you on the right track. The facility is nice and accommodating, offering morning and evening meetings throughout the week. It is conveniently located and they provide food and beverages which is especially great for anyone coming on a tight schedule. If you or someone you know is struggling and is looking for help, I'd very strongly recommend getting in contact with the people at LITC.
