I came here my gallbladder was giving me trouble.i called a doc I had an appointment with didn’t meet yet .They got in touch with him he meet me at the hospital got all my test done and had surgery the next day . I had a hip replacement in this facility just now. Super skilled and professional surgeon, great team, welcoming and accommodating personnel. They gave me a private room and nurses showed up within a few minutes upon my call. I can't thank them enough for the great job and treatment. Well deserved 5 stars!

They are so wonderful here and I truly feel that treatment was so therapeutic. They have wonderful groups and DBT and make sure your needs are met and accounted for. They were super flexible to grant me time to celebrate my mom's birthday! Shout out to all especially to Melissa, Rena, and Romesa for their help. Dr. Darly along with Dr. Mehta and Dr Preethi were so amazing. Charge nurse Gitu is amazing and make sure we take our meds to get well. Shout out to Allison, Alyssa, Cris and the most amzazing Mojadas.We can't forget the maintenance crew, along with kitchen staff and mojadas. They deserve a raise. I just want to say that Bridge Back to Life is an AMAZING center for addiction recovery. I wouldn’t have been able to get clean without them and I mean that more than I could ever possibly express over the internet. They’re incredible. Their process, their staff, everything. I had a great experience at Staten Island University Hospital. I underwent an elective surgery (hip replacement), so my experience might be different than with other areas of the hospital. But everything was seamless for me. The pre-op testing was great, and the gentleman who took care of my vitals, blood, ekg was great, as was the radiologist who Xrayed my hip! I received all the information I needed for my procedure, watched the videos to make sure I was prepped for the surgery. On the day of the procedure, they got me in right away. I didn't even have to wait on an IV. Everything moved along quickly and smoothly. I always felt like I was in good hands. Of course my surgeon, Dr. Korshunov, is absolutely amazing (brilliant & a perfectionist, which is exactly what you want in a surgeon). And the entire OR team working with him was fantastic. They put me at ease! After the procedure, the recovery experience was great as well. People helped me and gave me lots of attention. I didn't have to flag down a nurse for water or crackers or anything. They constantly asked how I was doing and if I needed something. The food also was amazingly good, which is nice when you need energy to heal and get going. Also, the PT and the OT people were on time and very good. I wanted to be released same day, and they respected that and made it happen without any stress-was released earlier than I gad even hoped, which makes journey home so much less painful! (I had my other hip done years ago at another hospital, and was always waiting on things-like PT-so was stressed that wouldn't be released same day). Thank you, Staten Island University Hospital, for making my surgery a better experience than I anticipated.

I can’t believe this program is still in the same location since mid 80’s. I was a 15 years knuckle head and my foster house mom-Group home from Vanpelt Avenue Staten Island send me here cause I was smoking weed. This place was sympathetic to my situation and I will never ever forget all the support I got while there, the sad part is that it took me longer to get my act together but I did!

I have come to realize these people really do care about you. Mr. Abdullah( forgive me if spelled wrong) is a genuine man who speaks from experience and from the heart. I was a little kinda iffy about Doris when I met her an realized she’s pretty great person. Tasha that’s my girl we hit it off from the minute I walked through those doors she gave me encouragement when I was down an always was able to tell when I was upset. Joe is such a Cooler older gentleman. Gentle Giant Lmfaoo. Jenn I didn’t leave you out your great too. Danny at first I wasn’t sure about I don’t do well with new people but he is a good guy. And there are really really good people there you have to just give them a chance. I am beyond grateful for all of them. They have helped me in more ways than one. They also gave me a safe place where I can open up. Something I wasn’t used to. Thank ya all. Ya stuck with me for a while.

I heard horror stories about RUMC labor and delivery but all I can say is that from the time I entered to the time I was discharged my experience was nothing but positive. This is my first baby and I was treated with kindness, compassion. RUMC labor and delivery was excellent when it came to pain management and bed side manner. All the staff members in labor and delivery and the maternity ward treated me my baby and my mom so well if I could give them 10 stars I would. Please don’t judge a hospital based reviews on the internet or even what other people say

I was at RUMCY hospital yesterday because I tested positive for Covid. I can not tell you how professional and courteous the entire staff nurses and doctors were. They got me in for my infusion I was out in 4 hours and when I called that night because I got a high fever the doctor called me himself! The treatment I received was unbelievable professional and would recommend it to anyone. Keep in mind this is all during a massive renovation for the new emergency room I can only imagine once that’s done. Great job thank you

This is a safe sanctuary where I did not want to go. I went in and felt cautious, but was welcomed with open arms. I was treated with respect even when I felt I did not deserve it. My counselor Lora believed in me and saved me when I was at the lowest point of my life. She showed me a sort of compassion and understanding that I never knew possible and believed in me when no one else did. It saved my life and pushed me to be a better man. I will be grateful for all eternity.

They are so wonderful here and I truly feel that treatment was so therapeutic. They have wonderful groups and DBT and make sure your needs are met and accounted for. They were super flexible to grant me time to celebrate my mom's birthday! Shout out to all especially to Melissa, Rena, and Romesa for their help. Dr. Darly along with Dr. Mehta and Dr Preethi were so amazing. Charge nurse Gitu is amazing and make sure we take our meds to get well. Shout out to Allison, Alyssa, Cris and the most amzazing Mojadas.We can't forget the maintenance crew, along with kitchen staff and mojadas. They deserve a raise. I had a wonderful experience with them. My newborn had jaundice and then his labs were not satisfactory. Dr. K. McDonough was amazing with explaining everything throughout the process. When my son’s labs were not getting back to normal Dr. McDonough took it upon himself and arranged for immediate appointments with related specialists, he took off so much burden off my shoulders when I was so anxious about my son’s health. It meant a lot, and I’m very grateful.

I am a former Marine, transitioning from a military life to civilian life was not easy by any means. Neither was my struggle with addiction which I battled over a decade and the fight does not end. Silver Lake has not only fought by my side, but was the safe haven, support, and help I desperately needed. Some of these counselors are very special people and every single one of them are not just professional but make it so comfortable to talk as if you are talking to a good friend. I don’t know where I would be today if not for Silver Lake. Anthony Perrone the program supervisor is truly an amazing person, NP Sledge is also and I have met a lot of people on my path. I’m am still in the fight thanks to him and the staff at Silver Lake. Not just with substance abuse but general therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, anger management program, couples therapy which I am about to undergo excited to do so, and most importantly just the day to day support of the counselors. The day to day support and genuine care that this facility provides is hard to come by. My counselor is always adamant about the fact that he is always available to reach out to, and has proven that time and time again. I am beyond grateful for this place and people. I have the choice of going to the VA as a disabled veteran and Silver Lake, I personally choose Silver Lake any day.
